Mrs. Swanson was born Aug. 14, 1947, in Pampa. She was a resident of Pampa for the past year and a member of First Baptist Church in Skellytown. She was preceded in death by her father, R.C. McDowell and her mother, Gladyden Helbert. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Shadle was born Feb. 5, 1904, in Wise County to Franz Joseph Koeninger and Delia Bridget Conner Koeninger. She married Thomas Marvin Shadle on May 16, 1923, in Wise County. She, her husband and infant daughter moved to Donley County in 1925. After a brief stint of moving from one oil field to another, including Borger, they settled back in Donley County, where they farmed and ranched for more than 60 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her only son, Joseph Marvin Shadle on Aug. 11, 1968; her husband on Aug. 3, 1988; and her son-in-law, Ray Pittman on June 17, 2005. She grew up with four brothers and three sisters and was married to Oscar Dahl in 1931 in Watertown, S.D. The Dahl family settled northwest of Gruver, where they farmed. There were four children blessed to their marriage, Louella Andrews, Mavis Floyd, Loren Dahl and Robert Dahl. After the death of her husband in 1990, Mrs. Dahl moved into Gruver. Always active in her family, church and community, she was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church, U.M. Women, a quilting and birthday club and Royal Neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Oscar; a daughter, Louella Andrews in 2003; two sisters, Ruth Hull and Gertie TeBeest; and four brothers, Reuben, Henry, Ben and Ted TeBeest. Survivors include a daughter, Mavis Floyd and husband, Don, of Gruver; two sons, Loren Dahl and wife, Evelyn, and Robert Dahl and wife, Suellen, all of Gruver; a son-in-law, Marvin Andrews of Guymon; and a sister, Johanna Moen of Guymon. Mrs. Harman was born July 27, 1914, in Isom, Hutchinson County, to Wyatte P. and Marguerite Irby Coke. She graduated from Bono High School and graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in Canyon in 1937. She married Victor L. Harman on July 29, 1937, in Bono. She had lived in Swisher County since 1943. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tulia and was an active member of the Arminta Sunday School Class there. She was also a member of the Sorosis Club since 1946, being the president in 1958, 1968, 1978 and 1991. Mr. Lee served in World War II with the Army in the 1289th Combat Engineers in the European Theater and the Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1946. Mr. Lee retired from sales after 39 years. He loved people and was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Downtown Senior Citizens Association. Mrs. Brock was born in Brice and finished school there. She attended Amarillo College and West Texas State University. She worked as a certified dental assistant, lab technician and hygienist until her retirement. She married J.E. Brock in Clarendon. They were married 45 years. He passed away in 1976. They had one son, Joe Benny Brock, who passed away in 1985. Mrs. Brock was a member of Central Church of Christ for more than 60 years. She taught classes and did volunteer work on Mondays for more than 20 years. Survivors include a sister, Joanna Haynes of Amarillo; a brother, J.W. The family moved here in 1930 and raised their five sons. Mrs. Buchanan was a longtime member of the Womens Golf Association of Amarillo. Mrs. Jones died Saturday, Dec. 31, following a brief illness. Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Clarendon to Wesley Henry and Lovie Johnson Henry. She was a life member of Church of God in Christ. An Amarillo resident for 41 years, she later relocated to Carlsbad, N.M., and resided there for 33 years. She made Amarillo her home once again in 2004. She was a retired domestic and homemaker. In retirement, she loved visiting her children, reading, working puzzles and playing Scrabble with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Laverne Henry; a sister, Corine Pettie; her first husband, John Alexander; and her second husband, Elder Hylard Jones. He graduated from Canyon High School and Draughans Business College. Mr. Downing worked as a building contractor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was very active with the Boy Scouts and Canyon Senior Citizens, helping with their building projects. Bill was a member of First United Methodist Church in Canyon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delpha Wood Downing in 1995. Survivors include three sons, Max Downing of Durant, Okla., Jerry Downing of Lewisville and Steven Downing of Lubbock; a daughter, Shannon Jones of Amarillo; a brother, Scott Downing of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
