Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Borger with elder H. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Lucille Brown, 88, was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Waurika, Okla., to Arthur and Myrtle Johnson. She attended Oklahoma public schools. The family moved to Borger, where she met and married Roy Brown in February 1941. She and Roy were the parents of 14 children. Roy, a daughter and a son preceded her in death. She was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ for more than five decades, where she served as mother of the church, sunshine band, purity class and many other areas of the church. She loved her family dearly. Due to health problems, she moved to Pampa, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Marvin Dehls. Interstate 40. Mr. Ortega was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Mendota to Jose Samolia Ortega and Maria Carrillo. He married LaJean Howard on July 18, 1952, in Wheeler. Coulter St. Mrs. Haines was born April 13, 1955, at the Amarillo Air Force Base to Eugene and Johnnie Mae Coleman. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1973. She received her teaching degree from West Texas State University and her Master's degree from Waylon Baptist University. Mrs. Haines taught at Bonham Middle School before moving to Midland in 1993 where she was currently an Algebra teacher at Alamo Jr. High. She married Robert "Bob" Haines on June 2, 1973, in Amarillo. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Midland and the Cherokee tribe. Patricia passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, in an automobile accident. She died after having a wonderful two week vacation which included celebrating the birth of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with her parents, children and grandchildren in Amarillo and a week with her children and grandchildren in Pagosa Springs, Colo. "Jack" Gallarneau, 84, of Amarillo died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Edwards of Albuquerque, N.M., officiating and the Rev. Rusty Dickerson, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, assisting. Private burial will follow in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Jack, youngest son of Bernard Alexander and Winifred Gallarneau, was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Brighton, Mich. He served proudly as a U.S. Marine during World War II. After the war, he came to Amarillo where his parents and brother had relocated. Jack met his sweetheart, Vera Agnes Horning, and they married, Oct. 24, 1946. Gallarneau Bros., a candy vending company started by Jack's brother in 1937, grew under the guidance of the brothers. After Harold's death, the business became Gallarneau Services Inc. and expanded into a full-line vending operation covering the entire Texas Panhandle and parts of New Mexico and Oklahoma that included snack bars and cafeterias. Jack and Vera's children, Cliff and Suzette, joined their father in the business until he retired in 1985. Mr. and Mrs. Gallarneau became charter members of St. Paul United Methodist Church in 1954. During his years of service with the church, Jack taught a class for mentally retarded persons for 20 years, served as Church School Superintendent, Chairman of the Administrative Board, Chairman of Finance, and Chairman of Missions. The world was Jack's mission field and became his "work" after he retired. He served as Coordinator of Volunteers in Mission for the Northwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. He coordinated and participated in trips to Russia (two), Haiti (three), Chicovasco, Mexico (four), other areas of Mexico numerous times, Cuba, Mississippi, and Louisiana. In his mission work, Jack believed in teaching the people how to help themselves and loved the interaction with the children. Giving time to his community throughout his life, Jack served on many boards including Opportunity School and Texas Council Mental Health Mental Retardation Centers Inc. and was a past president of Amarillo Community Center, Children's Rehabilitation Center, Llano Cemetery Association, Amarillo Knife and Fork Club, Wesley Community Center, Wesley Community Center Foundation, and Texas Merchandise Vending Association and Secretary/Treasurer of Texas Panhandle Mental Health Authority and Girl Scouts of Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Vera Agnes; a son, Cliff Douglas and wife Janice of DeSoto; a daughter, Suzette Compton of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Jennifer Leigh Kinter of Kennedale and Jaclyn Suzette Compton of Amarillo; four grandsons, Christopher Matthew Gallarneau and wife Sheryl of Lubbock, John Lee Bennett and Jared Wade Compton, both of Amarillo, and James Michael Bennett of Plano; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and dearly loved friends. She attended Bethel Women's College in 1946 and completed her studies at Drury College, graduating in 1950. She taught in Westwood, Calif., from 1950-1951 and served as a hostess for TWA Airlines from 1951-53. Eileen married Al Thernes on Feb. 22, 1953, in Fort Worth. They were blessed with three children. Eileen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved her God, her family and her church. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Thernes. Mrs. Hamilton was born March 26, 1941, in Hereford to Frank and Lena Lookingbill. She attended school in Hereford through 10th grade and graduated from Fox High school in Oklahoma. She then went to airline school and worked for Pan American Airlines in New York and Dallas. On Aug. 10, 1963, she married her husband Dr. Philip Hamilton. She moved to Lubbock, where she was a member of the Junior League, Dental Auxiliary and First Methodist Church. She moved to Ruidoso, N.M., in 1981, where she owned and managed a lodging business. Upon retirement she moved to Gilbert in 2004 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Lawanna loved her children and grandchildren and was a joy to be with. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loved all of her friends dearly. She married Thomas Marvin Shadle on May 16, 1923, in Wise County. She, her husband and infant daughter moved to Donley County in 1925. After a brief stint moving from one oil field to another, including Borger, they settled back in Donley County where they farmed and ranched for more than 60 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her only son, Joseph Marvin Shadle on Aug. 11, 1968; her husband on Aug. 3, 1988; and a son-in-law, Ray Pittman on June 17, 2005. She lived in the Amarillo-Happy area her entire life and graduated from Happy High School. She married Bruce Fields in 1935 and they moved to the Arney community where she started her life as a farm and ranch wife. They moved to Canyon in 1982, and Bruce preceded her in death soon after. Mildred became a staunch follower of the Lady Buff Basketball team and followed them loyally until health problems caused her to be unable to attend the games. Survivors include a son, Bruce "Vonnie" Fields and wife Anne of Canyon; a grandson, Scott Fields and wife Katrina of Happy; three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Lucy, and Gus Fields; and nieces and cousins in the Panhandle area. Darlene Usleton was born Oct. 12, 1955, to Charles and Nancy Walker Davis at Parks Air Force Base in Pleasanton, Calif. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1974 and graduated from Amarillo College in 1976. Darlene enjoyed music, playing the clarinet in high school, and was a past president of Canyon High School Band Booster Club. She married Tommy Dale Usleton in 1979 and has since divorced. Tommy is now married to Glenda Fessler. Darlene was a great-granddaughter of W.L. Bill Lohberger, an early settler of Wheeler County. She enjoyed working with Affiliated Foods for 20 years in HBC and Tobacco Purchasing Dept. Darlene was a resident of Canyon for 20 years. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Clarence and Louise Davis; an uncle, Jim Walker; an aunt, Ellie and her husband George Wilkinson. She went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 1, 2006, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
