Fielder Herschel R. Fielder, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. A private burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Fielder was born April 12, 1919, in Comanche County to Leo and Harriet Fielder. He married Martha Strader on Oct. 4, 1942, in Canadian. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944 until 1946. Mr. Fielder worked as a brakeman conductor for the Santa Fe Railway for more than 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Cobb was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Albertville, Ala., to Ralph and Eula Sanford. She worked as an LVN at Northwest Texas Hospital for 26 years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Eye, in 1996. Survivors include her husband, R.C. Cobb; two sons, Jodi Cobb and Michael Cobb; two daughters, Sandy Sanders and Penny Cobb; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Danny Chisum, pastor of Beacon Baptist Church, and Dr. Dana Moore of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Cotgreave was born on May 6, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo., to Sydney F. and Caroline Cotgreave. In 1930 he moved to Amarillo with his family. Mr. Cotgreave joined the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the American and Asiatic Theater before being honorably discharged in 1945. He married Linnie Jackson on Oct. 14, 1949, in River Road Baptist Church. He worked in commercial construction from 1946 until his retirement in April 1987 from Page & Wirtz Construction Co. He was ordained as a deacon on Sept. 16, 1957. Mr. Cotgreave was one of the founding members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and of Northwest Baptist Church. He was a member of Beacon Baptist Church, where he received the deacon appreciation award along with his wife on March 13, 2005. Survivors include his wife, Linnie; three sons, Stanley Cotgreave and wife Cheryl, Bruce Cotgreave and wife Cindy and Kevin Cotgreave and wife Traci, all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Kendra, Tiffany, Brittany, Tenille, Derek, Ryan and Jared; and a great-grandchild, Ky. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Southwest Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Melvin Crawford was born July 24, 1922, in Brownfield to Walter Roe and Jewel Mae Crawford. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and went to officer's candidate school in Great Lakes, Ill., to become a Lt. J.G. Mr. Crawford shipped out from San Diego to the Philippines where he served the duration of World War II. He came back home from the war and received his Masters in Business Administration from West Texas State University. Melvin met and married Anna Lois Heard in 1947. They moved to Borger where they raised their three boys. He worked at Producer's Chemical Co. in Borger and in Amarillo, when they moved in 1967. In 1970, Mr. Crawford started Amarillo Farm Equipment. Later, he was a bookkeeper in the oil industry and was retired for the past five years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lois Crawford, in 1996; and two sons, Michael Perry Crawford in 1986 and Carl Lee Crawford in 2001. Survivors include a son, David Crawford of Haughton; a brother, Wayne Roland Crawford of Amarillo; a sister, LaVeta Faye Campfield of Canyon; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Breedlove was born July 10, 1921, in Guthrie, Okla., and lived most of her life in Amarillo. She married John Breedlove in 1947 in Amarillo. He passed away in 1979. She was a wonderful mom, homemaker and a wonderful caregiver. She loved being "Grandma" to her grandchildren and great- grandchildren most of all. She was a long time member of First Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Cox and husband Gary of Amarillo; a son, John H. Breedlove of Midland; two grandchildren, Ray Cox and Lisa Orosco of Amarillo; and five great-grandchildren. She was the youngest daughter of Lonnie and Mollie Fox. Bonnie attended school in Oklahoma. She attended the Technical School and Amarillo College. She received her GED at the age of 54. Bonnie was employed at Amarillo Hardware, Texas State Technical College and Amarillo Senior Citizens. Bonnie married Vernon Martin on Oct. 7, 1947, in Wellington. They lived in Canadian before moving to Amarillo in 1968, where she resided until her death. She was a charter member of The Country Church. She also belonged to the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, in October 1992; her parents; a brother; two sisters; and a niece. Survivors include five nephews; four nieces; several great-nieces and great- nephews; two sisters-in-law; beloved pastor and wife; and several adopted grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Richard James Hopper Richard James Hopper, 59, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, in Greensboro, N.C. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Richard was retired from BNSF Railroad. He was a devoted member of Bible Believers Baptist Church. He was a loyal and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Richard was a man who loved God,his family and his church family. He was always willing to help others. He was a good Christian man, whom God called home. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter J. Hopper. Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Hopper; a son, Richard J. Hopper Jr.; a sister, Rochelle Berg and husband Terry L. of Amarillo; a niece; a nephew of Amarillo; two stepdaughters; and numerous grandchildren of Richmond, Va. Interstate 40. Mr. Goff was born in El Centro, Calif., and was a resident of Amarillo since 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated his own construction company since 1966 and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He married Virginia Hisel on Sept. 22, 1946, in Yuma, Ariz. She preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Buie and husband Richard and Quayquita Findley and husband L.D. Ms. Freudiger was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Goldthwaite to Claude and Ila Kerby. She had lived in Amarillo since 1974 and worked in healthcare as a registered nurse. Ms. Freudiger supported DAV of America. She was preceded in death by her children, Laura Sharlane Prichard, Richard Elton Freudiger and Edwin Eugene Freudiger. Georgia St. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Haiduk was born Nov. 3, 1925, in White Deer to Benjamin and Tekla Haiduk. He graduated from White Deer High School in 1943. He joined the U.S. Navy in August 1944 and was honorably discharged in June 1946 after serving aboard the USS Ashland, LSD 1 in the South Pacific. He then went on to graduate from West Texas State University. Mr. Haiduk married Joyce Duffy on Dec. 27, 1950. Mr. Haiduk retired from Texaco Refinery after 31 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he sang in the choir, served as a communion minister to the home bound, served on numerous committees and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Haiduk was a Meals on Wheels volunteer, an avid gardener, enthusiastic traveler and enjoyed oil painting. Mitchell was born Feb. 5, 1922, to William H. Mitchell and Willie Mae Calton Mitchell in Bastrop. He was reared in and attended the public schools of Terrell. Henry moved to Amarillo in 1946, where he met and married Ruby Hill. He was employed by ASARCO for 30 years and by Green Acres Apartments for 35 years and retired from both. He was also an independent paint contractor for more than 50 years. Survivors include his devoted wife, Ruby Mitchell; two sons, Willie R. Mitchell and Robert E. Burial will be at 4 p.m. MST in Tucumcari, N.M. Mrs. Hart, lovingly known as Grams, was born Dec. 17, 1918, to Wellington and Mabel Johnson in Endee, N.M. She married Earl "Punk" Hart on Aug. 27, 1936, in Tucumcari, N.M., where they resided for almost 50 years. Punk died March 22, 1987, soon after the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 1986. In Tucumcari, Arleen was an active member of 3rd Street Church of Christ. She also volunteered as the chairman of the Quay County Chapter of the American Cancer Society for many years. Arleen moved to Palo Duro Village in Canyon in October 1996 where she resided for six years before moving to Bivins Memorial Nursing Home in September 2002. Arleen was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, grace and dignity and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends and the loving staff at Bivins. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Punk; two brothers, Curtis Johnson and V.C. "Barney" Johnson; two sisters, Jewell Hammons and Ruby Cooper. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Nation was born March 18, 1927, in Gilmer. He married Mary Robertson on April 28, 1982, in Amarillo. He was veteran of U.S. Marines. He worked as a Carpenter/Locksmith for Pantex (Mason & Hanger) for 38 years before retiring in 1990. Bob lived in Amarillo since 1945 and enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the local carpenters union. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmie Randall Nation and Toby Ray Nation; a daughter, Betty Louis Nation; five brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mary Nation; two sons, Timmie W. Nation and wife Vicki of Amarillo and Roger E. Georgia St. Mrs. Pierce was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Kim, Colo., to Richard Franklin and Nora Vela Groves. She graduated from Stinnett High School in 1941 and went on to attend Draughon's Business College. She married Bernard J. Deaver on Aug. 8, 1943, in Gulfport, Miss. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1966. She worked as a secretary for Lewis Dodson Engineering for more than 25 years until her retirement in 1974. In 1976 she moved to Tulsa, Okla., where she married Glen A. Pierce on March 17, 1976. Mrs. Pierce returned to Amarillo in 2002 to be close to her children. He married Kay Lanette Howell on June 2, 1960, in Spearman. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict, and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant He owned and operated Crouch Office Equipment & Supply for 10 years and then worked for Pampa Office Supply and Fugate Office Supply for a total of 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas and Emma Elizabeth Crouch. Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 24, 1923, on the Kirkland farm south of Lakeview to the late George Kirkland and Linnie Maddox Kirkland. She grew up in Hall County and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1942. She married Jack Martin on Oct. 14, 1945, in Memphis. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1974. Mr. and Mrs. Martin lived and farmed in the Newlin community for several years. They also lived in Amarillo, where she worked for Russels' Stationery. They returned to Memphis in 1950. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Memphis, where she was a charter member of the Hightower Sunday school class. She was also involved in the Oliver Circle at church, worked in the preschool department and served at a communion steward for many years. Mrs. Martin was also a housewife. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five brothers.
