Memorial services will be at a later date. Linda was born June 15, 1949, in Clearfield, Pa., to Harold and Dixie Williams. She lived in El Paso for many years working in sales before moving to Amarillo. She was a devoted mother and a member of the Unity Church. Survivors include a son, Justin Evans of El Paso; a sister, Susan Dorsey of Sweetwater; and a brother, Leslie Williams of Chesapeake Bay, Md. She was greatly loved by all her family and will be missed. She was preceded in death by both of her grandmothers and both of her grandfathers, and one aunt from Mexico. McCartney Don L. McCartney, 74, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. McCartney was born April 7, 1931, in Amarillo and was a lifetime resident. He was a 1949 graduate of Amarillo High School. He married Carolyn Vetesk in 1951 in Tucumcari, N.M. She passed away in 2001. Mr. McCartney worked in the commercial printing business for many years and retired from St. Anthony's Hospital print shop in 1996. He loved his family and enjoyed watching westerns on television. He was a devout University of Texas fan. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Emma McCartney; and a brother, Thomas McCartney. Survivors include three daughters, Cindy Edwards, Karen McCartney and Debbie Watley, all of Amarillo; a brother, Sheridan McCartney and wife Mary Jo of Las Vegas; four grandsons, Jason Mixon, Donald Watley, Jeffrey Aragon and Jared Aragon; two great-grandsons, Kaden Mixon and Kessler Mixon; his "special buddy" Zane Karrh; and three special nieces, Shanna, Peggy and Melanie. Killingsworth, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Central Church of Christ chapel. Killingsworth, 86, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, following three weeks in the hospital and three days BSA Hospice care with his family. Woodrow was born May 18, 1919, in McKnight, Donnelley County. He has lived in Amarillo since 1993. He was a longtime resident of Dimmitt from 1948-1993. He married Alyce Fessler in 1942. They moved to Amarillo to live at the Continental Retirement Center in 1993. She passed away in 1995. Woodrow's business, Killingsworth Construction Co. Inc., was known for its programs of church design and construction. They were able to serve congregations in six states in the Southwest. He also built several homes, service stations and a bank in Dimmitt. Through Killingsworth Builders Supply, he was a supplier of redi-mix concrete for many of the local grain elevators in the 1950s. His offices were located on Highway 385 in Dimmitt. He was a devout family man. His family included many "beloved cousins." He was a founder and board member of Blue Haven Youth Camp Inc., of Las Vegas, N.M., serving continually since its origination in 1957. He served many years as a Rotarian, and was a member of Abilene Christian University's advisory board. He was an "avid" Bible reader and loved to teach God's word. He was a former resident of the Continental Retirement Center where he taught a Wednesday night Bible class for its residents. He was also preceded in death by his parents, C.E. and Mabel Killingsworth; a brother, Dr. Claude Killingsworth; and his wife of 51 years, Alyce. Survivors include two sons, James "Jim" W. Killingsworth Jr. and wife Becky of Amarillo and Jerry L. Killingsworth and wife Meri of Hereford; a daughter, Kaye Stafford and husband Troy of Bartlesville, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Woodrow was also blessed to have a second "family" which began with his marriage to Marie Reagan Gaylor on Oct. 26, 2002. Marie's three sons, Bob, Joe and Mike, along with daughter, Celeste Saadeh and husband Dr. Constatine Saadeh and two children were especially loved by him. Burial will in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Larry joined Jesus in paradise after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Houston to Fred and Juanita Bailey. He graduated from Pasadena High School, attended the University of Houston and served briefly in the U.S. Navy before being Honorably Discharged. He married Susan Tabor Padgett in Sante Fe, N.M., on Jan. 1, 1983. Larry was Area Agent Manager for Xerox Corporation and retired after 18 years in 1994. He was an active and eager participant in all aspects of life. From coaching his children's Kid's Inc. softball teams to acting Treasurer of the Amarillo Yacht Club he touched the lives of many. Larry enjoyed sports, bike riding, bowling, snow skiing, but especially tennis. His great passion was for sailing. In addition to the many physical activities he enjoyed, he also loved to restore automobiles, traveling on wonderful trips with his wife and close friends and he loved to dance. He previously taught Sunday school at St. Stephens United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. His witty personality and sense of humor will forever be remembered and missed by his family and friends. The family would like to extend a personal thank-you to Marty Trimble, to all those at Meals on Wheels and Odyssey Hospice who made this journey a bearable one. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mary T. Nagy, 83, began living life in its fullest on Jan. 11, 2006, in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Logan, W.V., Mary moved to Amarillo in 1944 and spent the last five years in Omaha. She devoted her life to caring for others as a highly respected nurse, retiring from Northwest Texas Hospital. BSA Hospice honored Mary in 2001 with the Emeritus Award, one of its highest recognitions for service to others. Mary leaves a legacy of love and inspiration evidenced through the raising of her family and persevering to complete her education and obtaining a nursing degree. Her family treasures special memories of family gatherings, summer vacations and countless hours at Lake Meredith. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, J.W. Nagy. Survivors include her children, L.E. "Sonny" Nagy and wife Linda and Julia Berry; a brother, Jess Turner and wife Midge. Private burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. James "Jim" Irlbeck was born April 2, 1932, in Swisher County to Fred and Gertrude Irlbeck. He lived in Randall County his entire life and attended school in Canyon. He married Amelia Skelley in 1959. Mr. Irlbeck was a lifelong rancher and farmer and was well-known among cattlemen for his expertise in the industry. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Ann Bradshaw, Shirley Conant, and Charlotte McDaniel; and a brother, Larry Irlbeck. She married Murrell Grant Reynolds on Nov. 14, 1931, in Sayre, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1992. Mrs. Reynolds was a homemaker and lived in the Samnorwood community since 1944. She was a member of Samnorwood Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; and a sister. Born Oct. 30, 1931, in Childress County, the former Nancy Marlene Kindle and Dick Mitchell were married Feb. 2, 1951. She was a homemaker and worked as a telephone operator, also for Gate City Electric Co-op and at Fox Clinic. Mrs. Mitchell was very optimistic, enjoyed her friends and dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her - especially family. She was a Christian, a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Childress and was devoted to her Bible. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Don was born Dec. 19, 1937, in Dimmitt to Sid and Myrtle Sheffy. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1956. He received his MBA from WTSU in Canyon in 1962. He married Karen Bell in 1960. After living in Canyon for 20 years, he moved back to Dimmitt in 1981 and opened Sheffy's Western Wear. He was on Dimmitt City Council and was Dimmitt City Manager from 1996-2004. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, where he served as President. He participated in the Dimmitt Follies for several years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was in the choir. Survivors include his wife, Karen of Dimmitt; three daughters, Kristi Sheffy of Dallas, the Rev. Mrs. Shockley was born Nov. 18, 1921, to Frederick and Alice Barker Cotton in Baldock, England, where she was raised with her two sisters and three brothers. On August 20, 1943, she married Gilbert Padgett of Hale Center and came to the United States aboard the Queen Mary to live with his family while he finished his Air Force service during World War II. Mr. Stapleton was born June 30, 1920, in Gastonburg, Ala., to Robert Allen and Mamie Pugh Stapleton. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in petroleum engineering. His work of 43 years with Petty Ray Geophysical took him and his family across the United States and around the world. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Cannon of Mobile, Ala.; and two brothers, Robert and Tom, both of Mobile. Mr. Timmons was born March 9, 1930, in Hale Center. He was a resident of the Gray County area since 1944. He married Eva Joyce Morgan on Jan. 6, 1950, in Pampa. He worked for the Coltexo Gas Plant as a repairman, retiring in 1995 after 46 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lefors. He was a former member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Pampa where he taught young people for more than 40 years, and served as music director for 25 years. He was a member of the Lefors Independent School District Board for 14 years. The family would like to give special thanks to the Texas Senior Care nurses, aides and caregivers. Memorial services wil be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Texhoma Church of Christ with Ron Eggleston officiating. Arrangements are by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mrs. Burrow was born May 2, 1033, in Willow to Hugh and Ella Denton Berry. She moved from Louisiana 35 years ago to Texhoma where she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Dirk Blain of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Tyrea Marker of Fort Supply; a brother, Dennis Berry of Mangum; two sisters, Bobbie Blassengame and Carolyn Coleman, both of Mangum; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
