Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. John Johns of Lubbock officiating. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home. Mr. Lyles was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Turkey to William and Nettie Lyles. He proudly served in World War II in the U.S. 7th Air Force in the Pacific Theater. He married Jean Warren on July 6, 1946. He owned and operated a road construction company and the Texas Gallery. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers; and a grandson, Carey Lyles. Survivors include three sons, Charles and wife Evelyn, Larry and wife Pat and Joe Lyles and wife Chris, all of Amarillo; three brothers, Eldon Lyles of Childress, Billy Lyles of Turkey and Travis Lyles of Lubbock; three sisters, Iona Boyd and Leota Johnson, both of Turkey, and Mary Jo Calvert of Flomot; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Johnson entered the gates of heaven after injuries sustained in a car accident. Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Enid, Okla., to Frank W. and Edith Hastie. She attended Amarillo High School and married K.J. Johnson Jr. in Amarillo on Aug. 22, 1949. Mrs. Johnson worked at Kmart for 28 years, retiring in 1990 as the Personnel Manager. Mrs. Johnson was an avid bowler, traveling to and participating in many tournaments. She was an active member in the AWBA and served as a board member, even after her health prevented her from bowling she continued to join the "girls" at the bowling alley for fun and fellowship. In addition to bowling she also enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with her sisters. She will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew her. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank W. Hastie Jr. and Earl W. Hastie. Survivors include her husband, K.T.
