A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Church of the Nazarene with Ted Taylor, pastor, officiating and Dorman Duggan, pastor of Hereford Community Church, assisting. Burial will be in Clovis Cemetery in Clovis, N.M., by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home. Mr. Myrick, a man of great faith, has gone to be with his Lord on Friday, Jan. 20. Matt was born June 8, 1969. He graduated from North Lamar High School in Paris in 1987. He was a member of and served in the Naval Armed Forces from 1989 to 1991. On Jan. 2, 1993, Matt married his lovely bride, Christy Alison Butler, in Austin. Matt graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 and a Master of Science degree in agriculture in 2000. They moved to Hereford in 2000 from Memphis, Tenn. He served as a Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper from 2004 until his death. He was a devoted husband of 13 years, father, son, brother, believer and friend to many. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Matilyn; three sons, Tate, Luke and Embry; his parents, Steve and Judy Myrick of Clovis; a sister, Amanda Myrick of Albuquerque, N.M.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Peggy Butler of Austin; and his grandmothers, Nola Myrick of Friona and Hazel Burford of Clovis. Mrs. Edwards was born July 28, 1929, in Briscoe County. She married Edward Daniel Edwards on Feb. 28, 1947, in Silverton. Mrs. Christopher was born Nov. 10, 1908, in Holt County, Mo., to Sam and Cora Barker, the oldest of four children. She came to Texas in June 1929. She married Roy Christopher on Aug. 8, 1930, and lived in Skellytown until 1945. She was a member of Skellytown Community Church. They moved to Wheeler County and lived and worked a farm east of Wheeler from 1945 until 1948, when they bought the 9 Mile Store, east of Wheeler, near Kelton. She was a member of Kelton Methodist Church until it closed in 1991. She then became of member of First United Methodist Church in Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1984; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include a sister, Leota Fern Propst of Austin; a nephew, Sid Jasper Jr. of Amarillo; and four nieces, Linda Leigh Jasper of Oklahoma City, Angie Marchak of Austin and Cora Stockwell and Alice Stockwell, both of Hot Springs Village, Ark. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born April 26, 1912, in Cooper, Delta County, to John Wesley Rhodes and Oda Pearl Lewis Rhodes. She was the third of eight daughters. Her family moved to Brice in 1913 and then to Clarendon. She graduated from Clarendon High School in 1933. She married Marvin Roger Jones on Aug. 11, 1945, in San Jacinto Methodist parsonage in Amarillo. She attended Amarillo College of Hairdressing and later owned Irene's Beauty Salon in Clarendon. After selling her business, she helped her husband with the farming business. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarendon. In March 1999, she moved to Amarillo and resided at Park Towers and then Ware Memorial Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1986; and three sisters, Mattie Chamberlain, Ruth Riley and Dorothy Adamson. Survivors include four sisters, Jewell Stewart and Betty McElroy, both of Amarillo, Ailene McElroy of Clarendon and Johnnie Adamson of Bakersfield, Calif.; eight nieces; 10 nephews; 21 great-nephews; 16 great-nieces; 23 great- great-nephews; and 11 great-great-nieces. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Neely was born in 1918 into a pioneer family in Amarillo to parents Harry L. Kearns and Fay White Kearns. She attended school at Gulf Park College in Gulf Port, Miss., and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma. She married RC "Jack" Neely Jr. in 1943 in Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Neely was an outstanding member of the hardware industry and a valuable civic contributor to our Amarillo community. Mrs. Neely was a talented artist and was involved in many organizations, including First Presbyterian Church, American Field Service and the Junior League. She was an original docent of the Amarillo Art Museum, a contributor to the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, as well as a supporter of many other arts groups and social clubs. Survivors include a son, Ron Neely and daughter-in-law, Irene Wolf, of Columbia, Mo.; two daughters, Sally Neely McInnis of Dallas and Susan Neely Legacy, M.D., of Burlington, Vt.; and a granddaughter, Hilary Legacy of Chicago. She married Everett Lafate Womack on Oct. 10, 1943, in Silverton. Mrs. Womack joined Fairmount Baptist Church at the age of 6 and was currently a member of South Lawn Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother as well as a talented artist who played guitar and harmonica. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Wagnon; a brother, J.C. Wagnon; and her parents of Quitaque. Burial will be in Prairie Hill Cemetery in Duke, Okla. Mrs. Adams was born Jan. 25, 1899, in Denton County to William Eugene Chadwick and Francis Elizabeth Chadwick. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and Baptist Church. She played the handbells in the choir at Elizabeth Jane Bivins Home, where she has been a resident since 1994. She loved children and enjoyed life. Minnie married William "Bill" Madison Adams on June 6, 1920. They moved to Portland, Ore., where Minnie worked with diabetic patients. During World War II, she worked in a shipyard in California welding double hulled ships and since became known as "Rosie the Riveter." She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 29, 1971; and three brothers, Willis Chadwick and wife, Clarice, Joe Chadwick and wife, Eula, and Wayne Chadwick and wife, Ann. Survivors include a sister, Estelline Griffith and husband, Nolan, of Loveland, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Phillips was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Plainview to Ira Lee Smith and Emily Smith. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1938. She attended West Texas State College in Canyon and graduated in 1943 with a degree in home economics. She taught in several schools, including Borger, Kress and St. Mary's Academy in Amarillo. While teaching home economics at Kress High School in 1949, she met and married the vocational agriculture teacher, Herman Phillips. They were married Aug. 14, 1949, in Tulia. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Central Church of Christ in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred Smith of Tulia and Kathryn Richardson of Borger; and three brothers, Gene Smith and Weldon Smith, both of Glendale, Calif., and Glynn Smith of Tulia. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Caldwell was born in Munday in 1914, the oldest of six children. A petite woman who stood 5'3", she was captain of her high school basketball team in Breckenridge, taking the team all the way to the State Championship in 1932. After attending business college in Abilene, she moved to Amarillo, where she met her future husband, Bill M. Caldwell, who died in 2003. Mrs. Caldwell was an executive secretary for many years, first at Harrington, Marsh and then at Producers Grain Corporation until her retirement in 1979. She was an avid gardener and homemaker. Survivors include a sister, Joy Huber of Dallas; two daughters, Gail Caldwell of Cambridge, Mass., and Pamela Morrison of Santa Fe, N.M., as well as a son- in-law, Leon Morrison; and a granddaughter, Claire Morrison of Santa Fe. Bob loved to fly and work on airplanes. He was a corporate pilot until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed EAA, flight instruction and aircraft maintenance after his retirement. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Pasadena since 1970. Bob was a devoted husband and loving father. Arrangements are by Byrd Funeral Home. Mr. Needham passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, at his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Needham was born in Muleshoe, Texas, on May 15, 1930. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and the Vietnam War and retired from military service after 20 years. Following his retirement, he was employed for 20 years with civil service. Celebration of life services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul United Methodist Church in Amarillo. Mrs. Fritts was born Aug. 15, 1920, in Spring Creek to Dorotha Viola Armbruster and Frank Anthony Armbruster. Imogene married Walker Lonzo Fritts on Sept. 10, 1938, in Sayre. They lived and farmed in the Carter community until moving to Amarillo in 1957. Imogene and Walker returned to the Elk City area in 1981, where, board by board, they built their home. Imogene chose to return to Amarillo in 1999 to be closer to family. Imogene was a homemaker. She loved being a gramma, fishing, crocheting and gardening. Friends and family alike benefited from her talents. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Frank Anthony Armbruster; and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Fritts. Survivors include two sons, Vernon Harold Fritts and wife, Jeannie, of Livingston, Texas, and Walker Rex Fritts of Amarillo; two brothers, C.D.
