"Red" Windham Jr. Alfred W. "Red" Windham Jr., 86, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Windell Taylor officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Army, Fort Hood. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Windham was born Feb. 4, 1919, in Tredway to Alfred Windham Sr. and Maudie Lee Coff Windham. He graduated from Amarillo High School, where he participated in boxing. Mr. Windham was a disabled American veteran from World War II. He served in the Naples-Foggia Campaign, the Rome-Arno Campaign, the Southern France Campaign and the Rhineland Campaign. He was awarded the following medals and citations: European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, American Defense Medal, American Theater Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Bronze Arrowhead Medal, Three Overseas Service Bars and Combat Infantryman's Badge. He retired from the Civil Service and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the VFW and was a past member of the Amarillo Range Riders. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Lola Sargent. Survivors include a son, Rhett Windham and wife, Debbie, of Wylie; three grandsons, Rhett Jeryl Windham of Virginia Beach, Va., Randy Windham of Dallas and Robert Windham of Wylie; two sisters, Eula Stephens and husband, Leonard, of Amarillo and Dortha Roberts of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- O.E. Curtis O.E. Curtis, 86, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Curtis was born April 28, 1919, in Amarillo to C.W. and Guiola Curtis. He married Clara Welling in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1995. He married Claudia Kearns in 1996. She died later the same year. Mr. Curtis was a lieutenant in the Army, serving in Europe during World War II from 1944 to 1946 and in the Army Reserve until 1953. He retired from the Santa Fe Railway in 1980, where he had served as a conductor for 45 years. He was a lifelong member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. He liked the outdoors, fishing, camping, traveling and making jewelry out of rocks. He was preceded in death by two wives; a son, William Earl Curtis; a sister, Sue Waldrop; and a brother, William Curtis. Survivors include a son, Ken Curtis and wife, Beatte, of Amarillo; a daughter, Darla Driggers and husband, Randy, of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Lou Curtis of Abilene; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leola Elizabeth Peters Leola Elizabeth Peters, 89, of Amarillo died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006. Mrs. Peters was born in Tabor, Idaho, on July 1, 1916, to Harry and Martha Buchholtz Kluesner. She graduated valedictorian from Moreland Idaho High School. She married Joseph T. Peters in 1936. They moved from Idaho to Hereford in 1947, where they farmed and shipped vegetables. Leola worked as the bookkeeper for the family business. In 1955, she began a real estate career that lasted more than 30 years. In Hereford, she worked at Carthel Real Estate as the office manager and broker. In 1975, she relocated to Amarillo and continued her work at First Equity Real Estate for six years. She was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club. Leola was a woman of great faith and compassion. She shared her vision of faith and gave her family a strong belief in God. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a beloved member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years and participated in the People of Praise and in the Blessed Sacrament Prayer Group. She delighted in her large and ever growing family and made each family member and each friend feel deeply loved and understood. In promise of heaven, she joins her late husband, Joseph T. Peters; her only sibling, Urban Kluesner; and a granddaughter, Amanda Peters. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Jo Monroe and husband, Allen, of Amarillo, Judy Swirczynski and husband, Cliff, of Dallas and Susan Bubeck and husband, Fred, of Sugar Land; five sons, Dr. Terry H. Peters and wife, Gerri, of San Antonio, Dr. Frank J. Peters and wife, Mary Kay, Danny C. Peters and wife, Pam, and Mark G. Peters and wife, Linda, all of Amarillo, and Rick R. Mr. Seideman was born Dec. 1, 1924, to William Henry Seideman Sr. and Josephine Wendel Seideman in Slaton. He graduated from Price College in Amarillo in 1943. He was an agent with the Knights of Columbus Insurance Co. for 22 years. He was also a 4th degree member and was a past Grand Knight of the K of C. Bill loved in life most his family, friends, fishing and Notre Dame football. He married Bobbie Hancock in 1946 in Slaton. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and loving friend and will be missed by so many. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Seideman of Burleson and Phillip Seideman and wife, Theresa, of Amarillo; a daughter, Melissa Stack and husband, Stephen, of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. McCarty was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Peaster to the late Elmer B. and Minnie McCarty. He was a lifelong resident of Floyd County and served in the Army during World War II. He married Elma LaVerne Poteet on March 3, 1946, in Floydada. She preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 2005. He was a farmer until he retired in 1985. He was a member of the Lockney Senior Citizens, American Legion, VFW, Elks Club and First Baptist Church of Lockney. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, C.W. McCarty and J.L. McCarty, and an aunt, Mary McCarty. Survivors include two sons, Richard T. In 1936, he moved to Canadian and resided there until moving to Pampa in 1950. He married Juanita Pendergraft on April 1, 1938, in Canadian. She preceded him in death in 1984. He was a conductor for Santa Fe Railway for 37 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, United Transportation Union No. 1313 in Amarillo, Canadian Masonic Lodge No. 855 and Pampa Senior Citizens Center. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Thrasher and J.M. Thrasher; a sister, Alta Faye McGeehee; and a grandson, Dale Glen Collins. Survivors include a son, Harold L.
