Mr. Ruffini was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Southwestern Mining Camp, Colo., to Joe and Esther Fortune Ruffini. He was a veteran of the Navy and Army and worked as a welder. He was past Master of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge No. 1239, Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Texas and Past Worthy Patron of Sunray, Bonita and Amarillo Chapters OES. He worked as a Safety Inspector for Kemper Insurance. After his retirement, he worked at Lake Tanglewood as a security guard until his health failed him in November 2003. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service and later worked as a C & C technician. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Osborn was born Sept. 25, 1928, to Henry Mack and Clara Dessie Hamilton Osborn in Bennington, Okla. He married Othel Baskin on Dec. 5, 1951, in Childress. Mr. Osborn was a member of Fairview Assembly of God Church for 45 years, serving as missions secretary for 40 years. He was a member of TOPS 283 Chapter. He retired from ASARCO after working there 36 years. Survivors include his wife, Othel; three sons, Alfred Osborn and wife Cindy, Joe and wife Mary and Steve and wife Angie, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Jewel Mae Morris of Estelline and Tommie Goodson of Turkey; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. with the Venerable Patsy Masterman, deacon of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Ms. Brown was one of nine children and the daughter of Van and Lena White of Channing, early Panhandle ranchers. She was married to L.A. Brown of Lancaster, Calif. After a debilitating auto accident in 1961, Ms. Brown attended the Arkansas School for the Blind where she became proficient in braille. She subsequently returned to Amarillo where she worked for Goodwill Industries several years garnering Employee of the Year honors in 1975. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Dorothy loved life. She was fiercely independent and never let the severity of her injuries dampen her spirit. She loved children and dogs, especially her sheltie, MerryLove. She was a proud, determined and passionate lady and will be missed. Survivors include two sisters, Ms. Billie Young of Amarillo and Ms. Pauline Mills of Dalhart; a brother, Harvey White and wife Sue of Hobbs, N.M.; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Dean English officiating, assisted by Mike Heatwole. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian. Mr. Murry was born Oct. 15, 1914, in Floydada to Mr. Otis Murry and Mrs. Clara Day Murry. He was a graduate of Floydada High School and West Texas State University. While attending the university he made Who's Who in football. Floyd married Marie Mitchell on Oct. 19, 1935, in Floydada. She preceded him in death on May 24, 1996. Floyd started coaching in the state of New Mexico, and later moved to Stinnett. From Stinnett, he moved to Floydada. In the mid-1940s he moved to Canyon. He was later the head coach in Perryton from 1945 to 1950, then in Canyon from 1950 to 1953. He moved to California in 1953 where he was in business with his brother-in-law. He also taught and coached in Orange, Calif., for a year before moving to Plainview, where he taught and coached until 1971. In 1971, Floyd moved to Canadian, where he was a counselor from 1971 until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Church of Christ and Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Lloyd Murry; and a great- grandson. "Tater" Rankins was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Tom Bean to Leander and Clara Evans Rankins. He married Mary Sparkman on June 21, 1945, in Amarillo. Mr. Rankins was a farmer and rancher and lived in Shamrock all his life. He served in the Navy during World War II. A memorial service to celebrate Christian's life will be at noon Saturday in Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Northwest Highway Chapel. Christian Keith Griffith was born Jan. 22, 1965, on a cold snowy day to Roger and Elwanda Griffith in Amarillo. Christian always enjoyed cold weather. Christian passed into a spiritual awakening on Feb. 6, 2006. Music was his life. Christian was assistant organist of First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo at 14 years of age and Outstanding Boy in the ninth grade in the Austin Junior High School Band. Additional recognition came in the form of Who's Who among American High School Students and the award of a Nordan Music Scholarship to attend Texas Christian University, majoring in organ performance. Education extended into graduate studies at Southern Methodist University and Westminster Choir College where he was named university organist at Princeton University Chapel. Study continued in 2000 and 2001 at Cours D'Interpretation de Romainmotier, Switzerland, with Marie-Claire Alain, Guy Bovet and Rodulf Lutz. Master Classes were also attended at Kings College, England. Christian was an avid traveler and toured the British Isles and the European mainland on numerous occasions. His work experience included Assistant Organist/Handbell Director at University Christian Church in Fort Worth, Organist/Director of Handbells at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, Organist at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church in Irving, Director of Music and organist for 12 years at Central Christian Church in Dallas, organist at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas and organist at Third Church of Christ, Scientist in Dallas. The family wishes to recognize all of the extended members of the Griffith/Hollars and Smith/Spraberry families that have been so supportive of Christian over these 41 years.
