Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Ronnie Mullins of Christian Heritage Church officiating. Arrangements are by Memory Gardens Crematory and Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Hardy was born July 25, 1940, in Oklahoma to Alvie Prater and Leona Shelton Prater. On Dec. 14, 1971, she married Larry Hardy in Amarillo. From 1982 to 1996, she ran a day care center. She was also a homemaker. She made Classic Candles and Crafts. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice and Virginia, and a brother, Kenneth. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rob Hardy and Larry Hardy II, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Barbara Haile and Karen Tanner, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Melvin of California and Andy and Terry, both of Oklahoma; three sisters, Patsy of California and Ester and Lila, both of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leo F. Mr. Hamel was born July 15, 1925, in Armstrong County to Charles A. Hamel and Blanch M. Braddock Hamel. He was a Seabee in the Navy during World War II. He had been a supervisor with Panhandle Steel Erectors for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and a sister, Bertha Leard. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Miss Silsbee was born on a farm near Range, Okla., on Dec. 30, 1915, to Earl and Nora Silsbee and their son, Kenneth. The family lived there until it was time for Kenneth to enter high school. Mildred I. Silsbee graduated from Perryton High School in 1934. She accepted a job with the Perryton Hotel, operating the Western Union office and running that office for four years. Mildred next moved to Amarillo to attend Holmes Shorthand and Accounting Business School. After graduation, she worked for General Motors. When World War II broke out, Boeing Co. called for workers. Mildred and her friend, Ruth A. Nichols, went to Seattle and worked for a few years at Boeing's. Mildred decided she would like a banking career. She began this career in Seattle with the First National Bank of Seattle, working as an auditor. The bank had 55 branches. Returning to Amarillo she continued her banking career with the First National Bank of Amarillo, retiring in 1980. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother; and a brother, Kenneth Silsbee. Survivors include Ruth A. Nichols of Amarillo and family; a niece, Kay J. Bowen and husband, Gordon, of Denver; four grandnephews, Michael K. Bowen and wife, Rona, and their children, Gordon and Jackie, and their granddaughter, Caitlin, all of Tallahassee, Fla.; Edward G. Bowen and wife, Char, and their children, Mandy and Cooper, all of Loveland, Colo.; Kenneth E. Mrs. Lack was born March 21, 1929, in East Germany to E.J. Surowy and Kathy Lisbeth Langer Surowy. She moved to the United States in 1959. She married H.P. Lack in 1975. She worked for Owens Corning, IBP and Levi Strauss, as well as maintaining her home. She attended Amarillo Christian Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her husband in July 1998, and an infant son, Eddie. Mr. Kenney was born May 5, 1914, in Midland to the late Jim and Bertha Woody Kenney. He married Thelma Sue Barrett on Dec. 20, 1936. He was a member of the Turtles Rodeo Association, Rodeo Cowboy Association and Elks Lodge and was a lifetime member of AQHA and NCHA. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Norma Rouchelle Kenney Bell; and a brother, Jack Kenney. Prayer services were at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Holley Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Phu Phan officiating. Mr. Ruffini was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Southwestern Mining Camp, Colo., to Joe and Esther Fortune Ruffini. He attended high school in Trinidad, Colo., and Canon City, Colo. After graduation, he worked for Henry J. Kaiser Shipyard No. 2 in Richmond, Calif. He served in the Navy in World War II aboard the USS Drake in the South Pacific. He then joined the Army, serving in the Corps of Engineers in Fort Belvoir, Va. Most of his life, he worked as a welder, retiring from Colorado Steel and Iron Corporation after 30 years. He married Helen Wilhelm on June 3, 1971. Survivors include his wife, and four daughters, Terri, Charolotte, Nancy and Donna, all of Colorado. Graveside rites will be conducted by Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355 in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Goodwin was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Countyline, Okla., to Edgar and Georgia Johnson Goodwin. He was a driver for Yellow Freight Trucking Co. and had lived in Borger and Fritch since 1947. He was a member of Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355, and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Lubbock Scottish Rite. Ray was also in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maree in 2000; his parents; his stepfather, James "Tub" Lashley; two brothers, Jeff Lashley and William Hoyt Goodwin; and two sisters, Lena Fae Stephenson and Opal "Pickey" Martin. Private burial will be by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Lavender was born July 28, 1950, in Memphis. He lived there until 1958 when his family moved to Tulia. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1968. He was a mechanic and worked alongside his dad, Bill, for many, many years. He then worked in law enforcement, working for the Swisher County Sheriff's Department for 12 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He served on the City of Tulia Zoning Board. One of the things he enjoyed doing was helping people, and he and Nancy provided free Thanksgiving Dinner for people at the Conestoga Restaurant. He married Nancy Hall on Dec. 8, 2003. Mr. Urbanczyk was born Sept. 22, 1914, in White Deer to John and Rose Urbanczyk, one of the first settlers in the Texas Panhandle. He had been a lifelong resident of White Deer, graduating from White Deer High School. He married Joy Griffin, and she preceded him in death in 1968. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Pampa and the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher. He was a farmer, rancher, businessman and oil wildcatter. He was a founder and supporter of the Genesis House in Pampa. He was a contributor to the building of the cross in Groom, and he contributed in the building of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and facilities. He was a member of the Pampa Chamber of Commerce, was a former president and member of the White Deer Lions Club, and he was active in the White Deer Independent School District. Mrs. Loter was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Stigler, Okla., and was raised in the Childress area. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1976. She married T.I. Loter on Oct. 20, 1932, in Hollis, Okla. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2003. Mrs. Loter worked as a sales clerk at Gabriel's Department Store in Plainview for 15 years, and she worked in various garden centers in Pampa for about 10 years. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She was known by her family as "Mama" Loter. She loved gardening, working with flowers and quilting. Mrs. Witt was born June 25, 1916, in Howe and had been a resident of Groom most of her life before moving to Clarksville five years ago. She married Dr. John Witt on July 3, 1937, in Groom. She loved Groom and the surrounding area. She was a member of Groom Church of Christ, where she had taught the first grade Sunday school class for approximately 25 years. Mrs. Greene was born Feb. 11, 1952, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque to Maureen McCrory Munn and Kenneth B. Munn. She passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006. Nancy Sue had a proud brother, Brian K. Munn, who was five years her senior. The family moved in 1953 to El Paso, Texas, and then to Las Cruces, where Nancy went all through school, graduating from Mayfield High School in 1970. She attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and later worked for Albuquerque Public Schools. From there, she went to Dallas and worked for a telecommunications company. She married Kenneth Greene, and they lived in Arlington, Texas, and became the proud parents of Shea Leigh Greene in 1988. Nancy arranged her life so that she could "be there" for her child. She volunteered for educational causes and served on boards to better her corner of the world. After leaving the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Nancy lived in Canyon and in the late '90s, came "home" to Albuquerque and the New Mexico she loved so much. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Munn; a brother, Brian Munn; and her daughter's father, Kenneth Greene. Survivors include a daughter, Shea; her mother, Maureen Poole Roberts; and her stepfather, Daryl Roberts.
