A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Cowboy Church with Ty Jones, senior pastor, and Jon Petty, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Benny was born Aug. 29, 1961, in Cheyenne, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1971, where he attended Palo Duro High School. On May 23, 1987, he married the love of his life, Tammy Needham. He enjoyed teasing "Boo Girl," having tea parties with "Baby Girl," and wrestling with his sons. He also loved to cook and sit by the fireplace when it was cold. Benny touched several lives through thought and deed, and will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Berry; two brothers, Tony and Kelly Cantrell; and his grandparents, Pete and Ellen "Big Momma" Forester. Survivors inlcude his wife, Tammy; children, Lance "Fast Eddie," Bradley "Bad Brad," Rebecca " Boo Girl," and Heather "Baby Girl" Cantrell, all of Amarillo, and James "Turtle" and Renee of Ringling, Okla.; his father, Wesley Cantrell and wife Nancy; sisters, Janice Boatman and husband LeRoy of Norman, Okla., Vicki Hixon and husband Gary of Crescent, Okla., and Paulette Moad and husband Joe Bill of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Milisa McCown and Jeanne Marrugo, both of Amarillo, Betty Jackson of Little Elm and Milinda Smith of Levelland; and host of other special relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jacob Michael Luna Jacob Michael Luna, 18, of Amarillo died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, in Conroe. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Ron LaForce and Tino Luna officiating. Mr. Luna was born and raised in Amarillo. He was a cook at Amarillo restaurants. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Luna, in 1994 with whom he was extremely close. Davey Gene Gaylor was born April 18, 1953, in Dalhart to Gerald and Glenda Clements Gaylor. Raised in Dalhart, he graduated for Dalhart High School in 1971. Davey worked for his grandfather, Raymond Clements, in carpentry for years before moving to Amarillo to attend trade school. He also worked for Boots and Jeans and Gebo's. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of numerous bowling leagues. Davey also enjoyed playing pool, tennis, listening to his music and loved sports of all kinds. He will be remembered as being strong- minded and very dedicated to whatever he did. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Elnora Clements; and his parents, Glenda and Gerald Gaylor. He served in the Army during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart after being injured in St. Loe, France. He married Cloetiell Pace 64 years ago in Hereford. Mr. Walker was a member of First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Second (Indian Head) Division Association, VFW Post No. 1475 and a life member of the DAV. Mrs. Rouk graduated from Draughon's Business College in Lubbock. She served as the senior loan officer for the Amarillo School Employee's Credit Union. She was a past president and board member of the Amarillo Women's Network. She also served on the board of the Women's Advisory Committee of Northwest Texas Hospital's Center of Community Health, the Randall County Study Group of Long Range Extension Planning and the Advisory Board of the Mid Management Department of Amarillo College. Mrs. Rouk was involved with the Amarillo Republican Women and the Women's Forum and League of Women Voters. She was a past board member of Rotary South and had served as a counselor for Camp Ryla. Mrs. Rouk was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church Bell Choir. Mrs. Read was born July 3, 1917, in McLean to Carl and Tomie Overton. She was raised in the Panhandle area and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State Teachers College in 1940. She began her lifelong love of teaching in Dumas and Claude during World War II. She taught in Waco where she met Albert V. Read, a steel construction foreman. They married in Rockwall in April 1949. They lived throughout the United States and settled in Dallas, where she and a fellow teacher started "The Little Red Schoolhouse" in Lancaster for kindergarten through sixth-grade children. The family moved to Canyon in 1962. She was a librarian and taught third grade at Rex Reeves Elementary, where she touched many lives until her retirement in 1982. The joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Read was preceded in death by her husband in 2002. Survivors include a son, Lee Read and wife Barbara; a daughter, Margie Chapman and husband Chapy; three grandchildren, Lisa Boehning and husband Shawn, Jeremy Read and wife Amber Nicole and Robin Bauerle; and five great- grandchildren, Maecie and Brodie Boehning, Braden and Avery Read and Cidney Bauerle. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Robert Hamm of Dewey officiating. Arrangements are by Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville. Mrs. Nelson was born Jan. 22, 1920, in Copan to Paul and Iva Doty Olmstead. She grew up and received her education in Copan, Dewey, and Bartlesville areas, graduating from high school at Copan. She moved with her parents to Pampa, Texas, where she became a telephone operator. She was married to Arthur Edward Nelson in 1943 at Pampa. Following Mr. Nelson's discharge from the military, they made their home at Phillips, Texas, where Mr. Nelson was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company as a warehouseman until his retirement and Mrs. Nelson was active as a homemaker. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson moved to Borger, Texas, to make their home until moving to Bartlesville in 1997. In past years they were active in square dancing. Mr. Nelson preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2006. Mrs. Nelson was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Harold Olmstead, who was killed in World War II. Mr. Holman was born May 16, 1974, in Van Horn. He worked in the oil industry. Mrs. Douglass was born March 25, 1935, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Henry and Florence Beverley. She was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a Durango resident for the past 32 years. She worked for Colorado Land and Title as an abstractor. She was an avid golfer and participated in ladies golf competitions for many years throughout the area. She also enjoyed all kinds of music and played the piano and guitar in past years. Prior to moving to Durango, she was an active participant in the Junior League of Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Henry Beverley; and a brother, Bob Beverley. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Scott Douglass; three sons, Chris of Durango, Jeff of New York City and Greg of Bentonville, Ark.; a grandson, Logan, age 3 of New York City; and a granddaughter, Lauryn Dushane, age 8 of Sarasota, Fla.
