Etheridge Jr. R.G. Etheridge Jr., 73, of Amarillo died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006. Graveside services will be at noon today in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Charles Jones officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Etheridge was born Nov. 3, 1932, to Rupert and Anna Belle Etheridge in Frederick, Okla. He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He attended Amarillo College before serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Diamond Shamrock in 1988 after 32 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna, in 1984; and a son, Dennis, in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Denise Pettigrew and husband Hal of Amarillo; a sister, Jeanne Bitting and husband John of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Elise Burrough of Lubbock and Drew Burrough of Amarillo; and several nephews and cousins. He was raised in Lubbock and graduated from Frenship High School in 1986. Shannon is survived by a daughter, Carly Ritchey of Lubbock; his parents, Lane and Bob Teaff; grandparents, H.G. and Maudine Dension and Joan Ritchey; a brother, Ty Ritchey; two sisters, Tammy Gray of Birmingham and Brandi Dountz of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and a special friend, Kathy Hubert of Amarillo. The celebration of her home going services will be at 1 p.m. today in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. John T. Bowser of Galilee Church of God in Christ and the Rev. James. M. Mims of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Lynch, the youngest of three children, was born June 9, 1926, to Melvina and Brady Baldwin in Frost. She attended elementary and junior high school in Brushie Prairie. She moved to Amarillo, where she attended Patton High School. She was employed at Hilltop Elementary School in the cafeteria for a number of years. She then became an entrepreneur, trying her hand at many things. She distributed Jet and Ebony magazines for a number of years. Her next endeavor was as an insurance agent for Atlanta Life Insurance Co., where she won many awards. She also distributed Home Interiors. She ended her long working career retiring from Amarillo Credit Bureau. Mrs. Lynch was very dedicated to the Lord, working faithfully in the church. She was a member of Galilee Church of God in Christ, pastor, John Bowser. She served as the Secretary of Sunday School, Home & Foreign Mission President, Gift Committee President, Sunday school teacher and the Announcement Clerk. She loved traveling to church conventions and taking cruises with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; and her husbands. Survivors include two daughters, Gail Lee and husband David and Ruth Ellen Lynch of Amarillo; two sons, Bobby Ray Cumby and Curtis Stevenson of Amarillo; a sister, Jerolene Wilson and husband Leo of Amarillo; a brother, Marshall Baldwin of Denver; four grandchildren, Darius and DaMarcus Blackshere, Brandi Townsend and Christi Bender of Mexia; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Joanna Wiggins Wildman, 62, resident of Claremont, Calif., and wife of former Shelby resident, R. Joseph Wildman, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at her home. Born Oct. 21, 1943, she was the daughter of James A. and Virginia Gunn Wiggins, both teaching professionals in Harrison County, Ohio. As a young child, Joanna had a pet chicken named Josephine, which began her lifelong affinity and caring for animals. As a high school student, Joanna earned membership in the National Honor Society and subsequently studied at The Ohio State University, The University of Dayton, and received her AB degree from Westbrook College in Portland, Maine. Selected to be an Ada Comstock Scholar, Joanna studied at Smith College, in Northampton, Mass. She continued her lifelong learning at West Texas A&M University, and returned to The Ohio State University for additional study. While at The Ohio State University in 1965, Joanna met her husband to be, R. Joseph Wildman. While actively supporting his business career, Joanna relocated her family from Ohio to the coast of Maine, to Amarillo, Texas, and to the southern California coast. Joe and Joanna celebrated their 40th anniversary in March 2005. Caring for her animal companions, a strong devotion to family, lifelong learning and kindness and respect for all were the highlights of Joanna's life. Joanna's energy and enthusiasm were equally devoted to raising two children; her son, James Joseph Wildman of Oakland, Calif., and daughter, Jane Virginia Wildman of Oberlin, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Wiggins. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Barkdull Funeral Home.
