Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Key Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Staton officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Anderson was born Sept. 24, 1976, in Perryton. He worked in the oil field, attended Key Heights Baptist Church and liked to ride motorcycles. Survivors include a son, Brandin Anderson of Perryton; a daughter, Taylor Anderson of Perryton; his father and stepmother, Daric and Carol Anderson of Perryton; his mother and stepfather, Dianna and Terry Stout of Pea Ridge, Ark.; two sisters, Crystal Sifuentes of San Angelo and Misty Acosta of Eden; and four brothers, Adam Anderson and Chance Anderson, both of San Angelo, and Cody Gift and Blake Gift, both of Perryton. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Martha Ann McFarland Clements FRIONA - Martha Ann McFarland Clements, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Friona Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Patterson of Friona United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. She was born Sept. 25, 1911, in Bertram, in Burnett County, to John Barton and Sallie Rountree McFarland. In 1912 she moved with her family to Killeen, and then to Friona in 1925. She graduated from Friona High School and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She married Roy Clements on Aug. 15, 1936. They operated a tailor shop in Friona and later farmed west of Friona. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years including an appointment as acting postmistress. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Friona and the Parmer County Community Hospital auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, on Nov. 27, 2001; and an infant son, Jerry Lee Clements, in 1939. Vigil services will be at 8 p.m. today in Holy Family Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Church with the Rev. Ken Keller officiating. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. John Schacher was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, Neb., and moved to Nazareth in 1917 from Nebraska. He married Norma Braddock on Sept. 19, 1949. John was a member of Holy Family Church, 4th Degree Knight and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a charter member of The American Legion and served 12 years on the Nazareth school board. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was drafted on Jan. 27, 1942, and served in the 5th Army under Gen. Patton in the 433 Coast Artillery Battery. He was often used as an interpreter for Gen. Patton due to his fluent German and Italian dialect. While on duty in the three years he served, he received six Bronze Stars and a Mark-Men-Ship Medal. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 15, 1945. John was engaged in farming and ranching his whole life. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Schacher; and his parents, George and Mary. Survivors include his wife, Norma; four sons, Bill, Rusty and Ben, all of Nazareth, and Ivan of Stapleton, Neb.; three daughters, Mary Jo of Santa Fe, N.M., DeZane and Simona, both of Dallas; 16 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Juanita, the eldest daughter of Lonnie Herbert Sparkman and Lela H. Miller, was born April 13, 1924, on her grandfather's farm near Samnorwood, Collingsworth County. She was reared in the Plymouth, Dozier and Samnorwood communities in Collingsworth County, mostly on the farm of her grandparents, Wesley S. and Dora Alice Stephens Sparkman, with her parents, grandparents and siblings. After Dora's death, Wesley married Mrs. Lovie Banks. Juanita attended Prairie View and Samnorwood schools. Juanita and her first husband, Clarence Reed Tucker, son of Lloyd M. Tucker and Susie A. Reed, married on Aug. 19, 1939, in Sayre, Beckham County, Okla., and born to their union were three children. Clarence died on Aug. 17, 1946, in Wellington. Juanita married Lon B. Harmon, son of Oran F. Harmon and Carrie Ingram, in 1947 in Shamrock; no children to their union. Juanita and Lon moved from Shamrock to Elk City, Okla., for a year and to Amarillo in 1948. Lon died in Amarillo in 1990. Juanita married James Paul Brown in Amarillo in late 1990 and he died in Amarillo in 1998. After Juanita and Lon reared the three children from her first marriage to Clarence Reed Tucker, Juanita and Lon left Amarillo and returned to Shamrock. Juanita worked for Furr's Super Markets in Amarillo and was a dispatcher for Shamrock Police Department. Juanita is a member of First Baptist Church in Shamrock. Juanita enjoyed family, friends, quilting and traveling. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Oleta Kinnikin of Shamrock, Morine Ovell Warmack Stafford Carney of Amarillo and Lela Patricia Johnson Keys of Shamrock; three brothers, Lonnie Sparkman Jr. of Norman, Okla., Leon Earl Sparkman of Orlando, Fla., and Hubert Lee Sparkman of Samnorwood; two nephews, Rex Alan Kinnikin of Shamrock and Wesley Wallace Sparkman of Orlando; and a grandmother, Ethel G. Tere was born Nov. 24, 1950, in Amarillo, was raised in Amarillo and lived here most of her life. She was a 1969 graduate of Tascosa High School and married Joe Bowlin on Jan. 25, 1969. She worked as a teacher's aide at Paramount Terrace Elementary School before becoming a homemaker in 1985. She volunteered for Family Support Services. Tere loved the outdoors and going on family vacations. She loved to play golf and was a member of Tascosa Country Club. She was awarded the "most improved golfer" of 2004. Tere was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom and "Nana." She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Wanda Andrews; and a niece, Kerry Lobaugh Ellis. Mrs. Hertel was born June 27, 1933, in Henderson, Ky., was raised there and has been a resident of Amarillo for more than 50 years. She married Robert Hertel in 1952 in Henderson. He passed away in 2002. She was a member of the Eastern Star and loved working with arts and crafts. She was a homemaker and loved being "Grandma" to her grandchildren. She was a Baptist. Born Nov. 3, 1919, in Lambert, Okla., to Lot and Dora Vandruff Fox, she married Clifford Doty on Nov. 29, 1936, in Hopeton, Okla., and he preceded her in death in 1997. In 60 years of marriage, she and her husband were never separated except by illness. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She will be greatly missed at the Georgia Manor where she had been a resident for the past 15 months. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Gooding lovingly cared for many families, children and babies with the utmost level of professional integrity throughout her career and was fondly known to all as "Nanny." She was immensely loved and adored. She was an outstanding cook and was known for having many secret recipes. She always cooked everything from scratch, including her famous peach and cherry cobbler which was second to none. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 2, 1963; four brothers; and three sisters.
