Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. DeLaCruz as born Dec. 13, 1955, in Mexico. He married Carmen Cardenas on Aug. 5, 1975, in Mexico. Mr. DeLaCruz moved to Amarillo four years ago from Mexico. He was a truck driver. A wreck on an icy road near Strawn claimed his life. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ma Guadulupe DeLaCruz of Mexico and Perla Yanely DeLaCruz of Amarillo; a son, Jose Luis DeLaCruz Jr. of Amarillo; and a grandson, Chessed Daniel Reyes DeLaCruz of Mexico. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- James P. Mr. Mueller was born Dec. 27, 1956, in Dickinson to Richard W. Mueller and Bernice Markel Mueller. He had been employed as a regional sales manager for Anderson Merchandisers since 1993. She attended North Heights Elementary School, Carver Junior and Senior High and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1968. She was a lifelong member of Carter Chapel CME Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Conway was born April 8, 1937, in Lynn, Mass. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather "Papa." He never lost his Boston accent, and everyone dearly loved it as they did him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Helen Conway, and three brothers, Daniel Jr., Richard and Edward. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray DeBord of Bedford officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Ballew was born May 29, 1913, in the city of West. He was raised in Abbott, where he was a two-time All-State tackle in high school. He served in the Navy as a 1st class carpenter during World War II. He later owned and operated Blue Water Drilling until his retirement in 1992. After retirement, he worked for Caldwell Industries as superintendent and heavy equipment operator until December 2005. Jean enjoyed spending time with his family. They referred to him as Dad, PaPaw, Papa Jean or Jean. He was an avid race car fan and also built and drove race cars. Jean really enjoyed spending his Saturday nights at the old Amarillo Speedbowl watching his car, No. 101, driven by the late Don Bergman. Jean was a flying enthusiast. He was a pilot, using his skills for business, pleasure and rescue missions. He enjoyed many other things such as cooking, the Dallas Cowboys and telling stories. Jean was also a 32nd degree Mason at the Masonic Lodge in Perryton. Jean respected life, nature and God. Jean's favorite author was Louis L'Amour and favorite music artist was his son, Michael Ballew. Many things about Jean will never be forgotten, including some of his favorite quotes like, "Wonder what the po folk are eating," "Lets get it on" and "We're burning daylight." Jean touched many lives, and will be greatly missed by many. Jean's last written words were "I love my family, life, country and God - so long!" He was preceded in death by first wife, Glenda, and 15 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Lois; two sons, Michael Ballew of Austin and Jerry Ballew of San Francisco; a stepdaughter, Tona DeBord and husband, Neal, of Amarillo; a stepson, Jackie Simmons and wife, Sharon, of Taos, N.M.; three grandchildren, Phillip Ballew and wife, Leslie, of Duncanville, Trent Ballew and wife, Kathy, of Plano, and Sunday Ballew of Austin; four great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; Kyme DePaulo and husband, Stephen, of Amarillo, Lesli Bishop and husband, Casey, of Denver, Tami Berchkenhoff and husband, Mike, of Spring, Mark Simmons and wife, Gail, of Las Vegas and Mandy Simmons of Taos; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Letha June Reed Letha June Reed, 83, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 2, 2006. Mrs. Reed was born June 18, 1922, in Iowa to Roy and Alma Gray. She married Dr. William Reed on Feb. 23, 1969, in Plainview. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks was born April 13, 1932, in Erick, Okla., to Ary and Flossie Jones. She lived in Erick before moving to Dumas more than 40 years ago. She worked in home health care most of her life. She was a Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Allen Brooks, in 1989. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ledbetter of Dumas and Annitta Cody of Wright, Wyo.; three sons, Steven D. Brooks of Borger and Douglas K. DeFries and Edward B. Mrs. Anthony was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Eli to the late Mr. Joe Childress and Mrs. Sarah Francis Richardson Childress. She grew up in Swearingen and attended school there as well. She married Denton Anthony on April 2, 1940, in Hollis, Okla. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1993. Mrs. Anthony lived in Memphis most of her life. She was a member of Church of Christ in Memphis. She was a homemaker and worked hard for many years on the family farm. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, C.L. Wynn on Feb. 5, 2004; five brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Sonja Wynn of Memphis; a brother, J.J.
