Ray Holloway B. Ray Holloway, 74, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 4, 2006. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Kurtis Spidel of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Holloway was born Aug. 5, 1931, to Ansel Harris Holloway and Cleo Pauline Holloway in Oklahoma. He served his country in the Army National Guard. On Feb. 13, 1957, he married the love of his life, Rosemarie Wruck in Tucumcari, N.M. Next year they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage. As a young man, Mr. Holloway worked as a plumber until he was injured in a fall. He was instrumental in the construction of the dam at Lake Texhoma and of the VA Hospital in Bonham. He retired from Northwest Texas Hospital, where he worked in the business office. He participated in the Indoor Sports Club for the disabled. Mr. Holloway enjoyed working on the computer and loved to write. He was quite talented and published several articles in various magazines. His computer savvy also allowed him to continue his education throughout his life via correspondence courses. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, David Chambers. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Rebecca Fain and husband, David, of Allen and Judy Locke and husband, Richard, of Rowlett; two sisters, Wanda Kent and husband, Marshall, of Paris and Paula Babiash and husband, Jeff, of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Melissa Chambers, Shelley Malinowsky, Brian Locke and Brandi Locke; and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Chambers and Austin Siegrist. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charlene Herndon Miller Charlene Herndon Miller, 70, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 4, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Errol Hainer, pastor of Refuge Worship Center, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean. Mrs. Miller was born Aug. 8, 1935, in McLean to Pat and Annie Herndon. She retired from Amarillo College in 2000. Mrs. Miller married Pete Miller in Amarillo on Aug. 18, 1978. He preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christie Swinney in 1999, and a sister, Ella Ann Hanes in 2005. Survivors include two sons, Charlie Patton and wife, Sandra, and Jim Patton and wife, Peggy, all of Amarillo; her mother of McLean; four sisters, Louise Avery of Amarillo, Patsye Henley of Dumas, Natalie Meathenia of Bloomfield, N.M., and Kathleen Reynolds of McLean; two brothers, Roy Durward Herndon of Dumas and Ray Darryel Herndon of McLean; seven grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rudy A. Montano Rudy A. Montano, 75, of Amarillo died Friday, March 3, 2006. Rosary will be said at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Pilo Ortega officiating. Cremation and burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery and Crematory. Mr. Montano was born in Santa Rosa, N.M., on Aug. 17, 1930. He served in the Army in 1947. He worked for Santa Fe Railway and Gilvin-Terrell and retired from DePauw Construction. He married Angie Guitterez in Santa Rosa on Nov. 11, 1948. He was known by his loving family as "Grandpa." He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren, known as his "Little Angels." He was the heart and strength of our family. He will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by a son, Freddie Montano; his parents, Simon and Richardita Montano; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include his wife; a son, Rudy J. Montano and wife, Debbie, of Amarillo; a daughter, Gloria Taylor and husband, Tony, of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Robert Mendez of Austin, Paul Montano and wife, Annette, Rudy Adrain Montano and wife, Faith, Tina Hunter and husband, Derik, Tifany Scholl and husband, Johnny, Alanna Merriman and husband, Tommy, and Freddie "Little Fred" Montano, all of Amarillo; 10 great-grandchildren, AJ, Devin, Desmon, Jonathan, Nikki, Dawson, Brandon, Allton, Aliyah and Myia; and his lifelong friend, Fermin Sifuentez and wife, Edelia. He passed away on Oct. 3, 1996. She enjoyed her many family camping trips and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended First Baptist Church in Miami for many years. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Aderholt, and a sister, Avis Allen.
