Smith Donna S. Smith, 51, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 5, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy S. Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Donna was born in Dalhart and lived most of her childhood in Liberal, Kan. She moved to Amarillo in 1971 and was a graduate of Tascosa High School. She also graduated from Amarillo College with her LVN. She married Mark Smith in Amarillo in 1976. She went to work at the V.A. Hospital in Amarillo in February of 1980 as an LVN and transferred to the pharmacy in January of 1985 and completed 26 years of service to the V.A. in February of this year. Donna was known as being a giver. She loved to cook, travel and do for her family. She was a member of the Panhandle Kennel club, American Spaniel Club, Amarillo Area Corvette Club and was a longtime member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She was active in Scouting and enjoyed watching her son achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. She was also active with the "Drifters" soccer club. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Christopher Shawn Smith in 1982; her parents, Julia and Ralph Jones; and a brother, Marcus Jones. Survivors include her husband, Mark Smith, of Amarillo; a son, Nicholas Smith of Amarillo; and a brother, Ralph Jones Jr. of Ashville, N.C. Blum Erma M. Blum, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 5, 2006. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Laurence Cathedral with The Most Rev. L.T. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Webb was born June 7, 1920, in Major County, Okla., to the late Mr. & Mrs. Lester Stricker. She grew up in Major County. She married Verner C. Webb in Sayre, Okla., on August 19, 1942. They lived on the Webb ranch in Gray County for 55 years. Mrs. Webb was a homemaker, 4-H leader and worked on the ranch with her husband. She also held a position at One-Hour Martinizing performing clothing alterations. In 1995 they moved to Amarillo. She attended Central Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church of Borger with the Rev. Michael Arndt of First Christian Church, Reverend John Waggner, chaplain of Craig Retirement Center, and the Rev. Steve Hinton, a grandson of Mrs. Hinton and minister of Horizon Christian Church in Rancho, Cordova, Calif. Eulogy will be delivered by Mary Hinton Barlow. Cremation arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Thelma Estella Holland was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Childress. She married L.E. Hinton, Sr. in Quanah, Tx on July 16, 1938. Hinton began her nursing career in 1950 at Quanah Memorial Hospital in Quanah. From 1952 to 1982, she worked at North Plains Hospital in Borger. In 1991, at the age of 70, she retired from Baptist Saint Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. Always active, she was a volunteer at the Hutchinson County Museum where she was chosen Volunteer of the Year in 1998, the Golden Plains Hospital Auxiliary, and Retired Senior's Volunteer Program. She belonged to Rebekah Lodge 286, the Red Hat Society, Magic Plains Toastmaster's Club 6343, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she served as an elder, a deacon and a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. Last but not least, she enjoyed the competition of her weekly scrabble group. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Jimmy D. Hinton and L.E. "Smokey" Hinton Jr. Survivors include three daughters, Rhoda Stelchek and husband Charles of Carrollton, Mary Barlow and husband Larry of Amarillo and Susan Janow and husband Jack of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Helen Lollar of Borger and Louise James of Mineola; and one brother, Fred Holland of Bryan. Loved and adored by her family, she will greatly missed. Gray St., Pampa, TX 79065. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alviana Kliewer FOLLETT - Alviana Klewer, 93, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Booker. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Follett with Clay Wells, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery under the direction of Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla. Alviana Kliewer was born Dec. 5, 1912, in Shattuck, Okla. She was the oldest of seven children to Mary Schoenhals and George Steinert. She was raised south of Shattuck until 1929, when the family moved to a farm west and north of Follett. Frank Kliewer came into her life as she graduated from Follett High School in 1932. They were married Nov. 2, 1932, in the home of Frank's parents. Presiding was the Rev. George Eichler. The couple lived with his parents for almost a year while a small two-room house was built near his parents' home. Four years later they bought a farm three miles north of Follett where they lived together until Frank passed away in 1993. Alviana has been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Follett, teaching Sunday school and helping with vacation Bible school for many years. The Home Demonstration Club of Lipscomb County received her energy and support, as she was a charter member. The senior citizens group of Follett called Friends and Neighbors was a great source of enjoyment to both Alviana and Frank. Alviana's strong faith in God was apparent whether she was praying for a lost need, a child in the hospital or making it through the Dust Bowl years. She kept looking for the silver lining in every cloud. Her pastimes have included embroidering and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Ruby Gadberry and Gertrude Dale and an infant sister, Margerite Steinert. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Worrell and husband Gene of Amarillo; a son, Ron Kliewer of Amarillo; two sisters, Martha Herber and LaVeta Buchner, both of Follett; five grandchildren, Tammy Richardson, Troy Worrell and wife Shelley, Trent Worrell and wife Easter, James Kliewer and wife Becca and Kenna Howard and husband Devin; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Richardson, Keelan Worrell, Alex McKenzie Worrell, Brennen Worrell, Connor Worrell, Cody Howard, Kori Brooke Howard, Jolie Kliewer, Tori Kliewer, Curtis Sharpe, Chase Sharpe an Corbin Sharpe. Renner TEXHOMA, OKLA. - Ralph H. Renner, 87, died Friday, March 3, 2006, in Oklahoma City. A prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Guymon. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Pruitt officiating. Military graveside honors will follow in Texhoma Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. The son of Mary Ann Albers and Aug. J. Renner, Mr. Renner was born August 27, 1918, in Aleppo, Kan. The Renner family homesteaded south of Texhoma in the early 1930s. Ralph graduated from Texhoma High School with the Class of 1938. He spent 2 years working for Beech Aircraft Corp. in Wichita, Kan., where he met Estella G. Pat Senn. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in May 1943. He and Pat were united in marriage on Dec. 11, 1943. He soon left for the European Theater, serving in France, Germany, Belgium, England and Luxemburg and landed at Normandy on D-Day plus 6. He was honored with four Bronze Stars for his service during World War II. Mr. Renner returned to the Panhandle and farmed and ranched with his two brothers, Clarence and Gus Renner, until he retired in 1997. He was a strong Christian man, a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Guymon and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Ralph loved spending time with his family, reading western novels, and took particular joy being involved in his grandsons' lives. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Craig, Eleanor Mans and Leona Orth; and three brothers, Gus Renner, Elmer Renner and Clarence Renner. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Pat Renner; two daughters, Beverly Johnson and husband Walter of Altus and Theresa Ross and husband Jim of Texhoma; a sister, Bernetta Owens of Amarillo, Texas; a sister-in-law, Eloise Renner of Spearman, Texas; four grandsons, Eric Johnson and wife Jamie; Shaun Johnson; Dr. Nathan Ross; and Jeremy Ross and wife Andrea; a great- granddaughter, Abagail Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
