Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Keeter was a native of Walla Walla, Wash., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo, where she was a member of the Church of Christ in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Keeter, in 1997; and a daughter, Delores Wiegand in 1990. Survivors include a son, Fredrick Keeter of Clinton, Miss.; two sisters, Grace Norrid of Midland and Lorena Davidson of Quincy, Mass.; five grandchildren, Melissa Treat, Kent Keeter, Kevin Keeter, Cyrice Smith and Dina Luft; and thirteen great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Melba Corene Doane Melba Corene Doane, 73, of Amarillo died Tuesday, March 7, 2006. Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Burial will be at Trees Cemetery in DeSoto. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Melba was born on June 17, 1932, in Ovilla. She moved to Amarillo in 1943. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949. She was employed at Southwestern Public Service Company from 1951-1959, then worked at The First National Bank of Amarillo from 1959-1995. Her retiring years were spent enjoying time with her granddaughter and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, R.P. and Gladys Trees of Red Oak; and her husband, Terrence Doane of Amarillo. Services will be at 11 am. Friday at Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with Brad Small and Gene Belfield officiaitng. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Troy was born in Amarillo on April 17, 1964, and graduated from Caprock High School. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Tonya Haley, on Aug. 24, 1985. Troy spent 18 years in the BSA landscape department doing what he did best - making everything around him more beautiful. Troy, a man of faith, was a member of Amarillo South Body of Christ Church. Troy loved his children with all his heart and measured his wealth in the time he spent with them. He cherished being their number one fan at their many great soccer games, bonding around a campfire or playing cards at the kitchen table. He had an unfailing love for his family and for life that could be seen in his ever- present smile and constant sparkle in his beautiful brown eyes! The cancer may have crippled him, eventually taking him, but it never crippled his spirit! Survivors include his wife, Tonya; a son, Jerrad; a daughter, Haley; his father, Jerry Main an wife Linda of Amarillo; his mother, Sandy Vasquez and husband Joe of Canyon; a sister, Tracy Olivarez and husband Rene; two nephews, Jeremy and Chris; a niece, Nicole of Amarillo; a half-sister, Mandi Burchfield of Paris; and his grandparents, Delbert and Billie Main of Amarillo. Troy was also blessed to have a second family that began with his marriage to Tonya, which included Jack and Sue Haley; a sister, Cole Hardin and husband Shane; a newphew, Ashton; and two nieces, Makenzie and Sydney of Canyon. The families would like to extend a personal thank-you to Dr. Paul Hancock and Eric Palmer, Cindy Crawford, Dr. Jeffery Cone and Rich Jones, Dr. Donald Pratt and Cindy Simpson, Dr. Randy Hines, Dr. Richard Weiner and Michelle Fuller, Dr. Donald Schwarz and Alice Maier and to all the staff at BSA that took care of Troy along our journey at gave us 21 months to gather more precious memories. She lived in Amarillo over 30 years and in Happy for five. She worked in numerous banks and mortgage companies. Her first job was with Amarillo Credit Bureau. She married Dudley Dunlap Jr. on Dec. 7, 1954. Jean also worked as an accountant for the railroad. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Stephen Dunlap of Amarillo and Arthur Dunlap of Frisco; two sisters, Eilene Thomas of Elk, Okla., and Helen Snead of Amarillo; a brother, Arthur Verkler of Graham, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Brett Dunlap of Amarillo and Ashlee Meagan Dunlap of Princeton. Vaughn Ruby N. Vaughn, 91, of Amarillo died Monday, March 6, 2006. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor, Dr. Winfred Moore, pastor emeritus, and the Rev. B.L. Davis, retired pastor and former director of the Amarillo Baptist Association, officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Vaughn was born Oct. 21, 1914, in Reed, Okla., to J.C. and Pearl Moseley. She married Cleo Vaughn on Oct. 19, 1935. On Oct. 19, 2005, Paul Harvey's news broadcast told of the Vaughns' 70th wedding anniversary on all six continents. Mrs. Vaughn lived in Amarillo for 66 years. She helped her husband for four years in establishing Vaughn Plumbing Company. She had a great heart toward evangelistic missions as a girl. She and her husband worked in the Industrial City Mission out of Pierce Street Baptist Church in Amarillo for 10 years. Mrs. Vaughn and her husband continued with their mission work at Buchanan Street Baptist, Roberts Street Mission and Friendship Baptist and were co- founders of Highland Baptist Church in Amarillo. Mrs. Vaughn superintended several vacation Bible schools each summer in Amarillo. In their later years, they worked with the First Baptist Church of Amarillo Singles' Department and Marriage Enrichment Program. God granted her a long and useful life in His service. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and three brothers. Maria was born on Jan. 18, 1924, in La Liendre, N.M. She grew up in Lourdes, N.M. She married Tomas Jaramillo on Oct. 2, 1939. They lived in Trujillo, N.M., where they farmed their own land. They moved to Claude in 1962, where Mary worked as a nurse's aide for many years. She was in the nursing profession in Amarillo. She married Ross White on May 7, 1982, in Hereford. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tomas Jaramillo on Oct. 26, 2005; and Ross White on Nov. 18, 1991. Survivors include three daughters, Elcie Montano and Helen Elena Smith of Amarillo and Betty Malcom of Lubbock; seven sons, Lorenzo Jaramillo of Silverton, Arthur Jaramillo of Albuquerque, N.M., Joe Jaramillo, Tomma Jaramillo, George Jaramillo and Paul Jaramillo, all of Amarillo, and Anthony Jaramillo of Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Kay Jones DUMAS - Kay Jones, 61, died Monday, March 6, 2006, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Dumas with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. Jones was born April 16, 1944, in Shamrock. She resided in Dumas since 1965. She married Bobby Jones on Feb. 11, 1967, in Dumas. She was a longtime member of the Sanctuary Choir and Happy Timers. She taught youth Sunday School for many years. She participated in numerous mission trips around the world, which she enjoyed tremendously, especially her trips to Africa. Many children were fortunate enough to have her as a foster mother. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Jones; two brothers, Royce Powell of Dumas and Doug Powell of Victor, Iowa; and a sister, Shirley Ann Chamberlain of Dumas. Mrs. Anderson was born on Sept. 13, 1918, to Earl and Lou Miller in Wheeler. She was a retired cafeteria cook for Sanford/Fritch ISD for 35 years. She graduated from Happy High School in 1951. Joan married Reed McDonald on Sept. 5, 1952, outside of Tulia. She was an employee at First State Bank in Happy as a computer operator and teller. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a fifth- and sixth-grade Sunday school teacher for 25 years. She was also the church treasurer for seven years and an assistant for many years. Joan served as an officer in Order of Easter Star, Women's Study Club, WMU and Happy Senior Citizens. She was a lifetime resident in Happy. She enjoyed raising her family and being a housewife. Sullivan. He married Elva Contreras on June 25, 1964, in Spearman. He was a farmer for Chalmers Porter for 22 years. Mr. Sullivan belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Spearman. He received a Million Mile Award and was in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1961. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lester "Jiggs" Sullivan and Eldon J. "Jet" Sorrells, formerly of Dalhart, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Reynolds Ranch Headquarters south of Dalhart. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Jesse Sorrells was born March 22, 1920, at his family's home in Scurry County and was raised between the 9R and Triangle ranches, which at that time were both owned by the Reynolds family. He grew up working cattle for both ranches. After getting out of WWII , after "eliminating Hitler," he came back to work as ranch manager for Reynolds Cattle Company for almost 40 years. In 1947 he worked as chuck wagon boss for three years. After the manager of the Dalhart ranches died, he was then sent to learn the yearling business and manage both ranches. In 1972 he was made General Manager of all their operations. He managed both ranches - Rita Blanca at 65,000 acres and the Matlock at 35,000 acres. He felt the happiest time of his life was the 13 years he managed their ranch known as the X'es, or long X outfit, in the Davis Mountains near Kent. It was approximately 400,000 acres and ran a chuck wagon almost year round. Jesse loved all sports, especially golfing. He attended West Texas State University on a basketball/football scholarship. His sports career was ended on Pearl Harbor Day when he joined the Army. Jesse was proud to be a rancher and veteran. Jesse worked for Medical Pay, Inc. a family owned company for the last 10 years and was their best ambassador. He loved his friends at Hendrick Medical Center, Diamondback Golf Club, and Graham Regional Hospital. A special heartfelt thanks goes to the incredible staff at Royal Estates Assisted Living Center in Abilene. Jesse was a phenomenal letter writer and would seldom attend funerals but always spent hour upon hour writing memory-filled letters to a family that had lost a loved one. The Sorrells Clan requests that friends take a minute to write a letter of inspiration in his honor. Jesse was overwhelmed by the gazebo built in honor of Myradell at the Dalhart Senior Citizens Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Myradell Cessnun Sorrells; two brothers; and a sister. Judy was born on July 28, 1956, in Los Angeles to Herman and Frankie Lee Moore. She began her education at the Booker T. Bob Reinauer FITTSTOWN, OKLA. - Robert Marshall "Bob" Reinauer, 59, died Monday, March 6, 2006. Mr. Reinauer was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Hereford, Texas, to Joseph Frank and Violet Earhart Leckie Reinauer. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1965. He received a BA degree from the University of Texas. Bob was commissioned an ensign, U.S. Navy in June 1969 upon graduation from the NROTC program at the University of Texas, where he had been a member of the "Longhorn Flying Club". He began his active duty service at NAS Pensacola, Fla., flying the T-34B trainer. He flew the T-2B jet trainer in Meridian, Miss., and the TA-4B at NAS Chase Field in Beeville, Texas, where he earned his Navy Wings of Gold. Lt. j.g. Reinauer's first operational squadron was flying the A-7 Corsair attack jet at NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Fla. He was twice deployed on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Mediterranean Sea. Lt. Reinauer left active duty in 1974 and returned to Hereford, where he helped with the management of the Reinauer family's farm and ranch operations. He was a pilot for Braniff Airlines and continued to serve in a fighter squadron as a Naval Reserve Officer at NAS Dallas, flying first the F-8 Crusader, then the F-4 Phantom II. In 1984, Reinauer returned to business as a cattleman and commodity broker in Hereford. In 1987, he became a pilot for American Airlines. After an inter-service transfer to the U. S. Air Force Reserves, he flew the RF4-C and the F-16 Fighting Falcon, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in the 1990s. Reinauer continued his career as a Captain at American Airlines flying the MD-80, 757, and 767. He was an instructor and check airman at the American Airlines Flying Academy. He married Susie Barrow in 1991 in Reno, Nev. They moved to Fittstown from Flower Mound, Texas, in 2000. Mr. Reinauer attended the Fittstown Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Susie Reinauer; three daughters, Brenna Strait and husband Danny of Loveland, Colo. Brianna Blush and husband Tom of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Page Porterfield of Fittstown, Okla.; a son, Robert M. Reinauer Jr. of Hereford; two granddaughters, Lauren Strait and Laena Strait; three brothers, Joseph Frank Reinauer and wife Linda, James Richard Reinauer and Arthur Raymond Reinauer and wife Kim, all of Pensacola.
