Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in New Light Ministries with the Rev. Richard Murray, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Cotton was born Aug. 29, 1933, in Luther, Okla., to Frederick N. and Lula Simpson Cotton. After graduation from high school he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was honored as a military staff sergeant, serving his country from 1931 to 1968. Upon retirement he was employed by Amarillo Air Force Base. His job provided an opportunity to attend nursing school at Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing, where he graduated in 1975 with a BA degree in nursing. He worked as an RN for Dr. A.B. Ghoston, Gen. Wallington and Mrs. Stanley Marsh. He retired from nursing in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Trabell Juanita Cotton. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Kezse Cotton of Amarillo; three sons, Dennis Turner of Dallas, Ulysses Cotton and Ronald Cotton, both of Amarillo; three daughters, Carolyn Woods of Oklahoma City, Carloyn Cotton and Felicia Cotton, both of Amarillo; two grandsons, Howard B. Cotton and James B. Whiteside of Amarillo; a great-grandson, Jayden B. Vasquez of Amarillo; and a very special sister-in-law, Jean Pruitt. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Mrs. Taff was the daughter of H.M. and Jean Fisher. She married Mike Taff on Dec. 21, 1977. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Fisher in 2001. Joe was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Glazier to William Bow and Nannie Elizabeth Gillaspie. He married Helen Jean Hoffman on Feb. 3, 1949, in Lancaster, Pa. Joe worked as a dry cleaner and retired in 1985. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was stationed on Saipan in the Marianna Islands. He was honored with a medal and certificate of appreciation from the American Memorial National Park on the island of Saipan commemorating the 60th anniversary of the battles of Saipan and Tinnian. Joe was an avid auto racing fan traveling across the country with his wife and family to watch his favorite dirt track racing. He was a loyal Ford man. He especially enjoyed dune buggy riding at the Canadian River. He loved Texas and was a proud American. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen Jean Hoffman; two daughters, Nancy Muncy and husband Jimmy and Donna Cranfill and husband Kenny; plus the pride and joy of his life, his two grandsons, Jeff Muncy and Justin Cranfill, all of Amarillo. Bill Casteel was born on July 4, 1926, in Bonham to John and Ruby Irwin Casteel. He graduated from Ekter High School and then from Sam Houston State College with a B.S. in agriculture. He married Clemie Reedy on Oct. 4, 1952. While serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was stationed in Tokyo. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of First United Methodist Church. He worked for SCS and retired in Canyon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clemie Casteel, in 2002; and a brother, Richard. Survivors include a son, Brian T. She was Valedictorian of the 1948 class in Darrouzett. She was a lifelong resident of Lipscomb County. She married Harry Ginter on Oct. 24, 1948, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Darrouzett. She worked for many years at the Lipscomb County Courthouse in the home extension office and deputy clerk until retiring in 1989. Ruth enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and cooking. She was raised in a Christian home and became a Christian at age 16. Ruth cherished her service to the Lord Jesus Christ and to her family. She left a legacy to her family of serving the Lord. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church since 1951, where she was a pianist and taught Sunday school. She was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Christ Jr., Fred, George, Victor and Alvin; and two sisters, Emelia Meller Schoenhals and Marie Garrison Meier. Mr. Morgan was born Feb. 26, 1928, the son of Mack and Natalie Morgan in Bethany, La. He married Doris Chatten on May 9, 1960, in Corsicana. Mr. Morgan was a veteran, having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He served for more than 40 years as a police officer, during which time he was a captain with the Hereford Police Department and retired as the chief of police with the Memphis Police Department. Mr. Morgan received numerous awards for outstanding service and was elected to the National Police Officers Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by a brother. Mr. Walker was born June 4, 1914, in Childress to George A. and Effie Mae Johnson Walker. They moved from Paducah to Wheeler County in the 1920s. He married Dorothy Lohberger on Sept. 13, 1936, in Miami. They moved to California, where he worked for the railroads, in 1937. They returned to the home place in Wheeler County in 1946. Mr. Walker was an insurance salesman for many years, where he was a member of the million dollar club. He also was in the oil and gas business and farming and ranching. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Pampa, Masonic Lodge of Wheeler, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, Kiva Temple of Amarillo and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was preceded in death by a son, James Clifton Walker Sr. in 1997; two grandsons; a granddaughter; four sisters; and a brother. Ross Oden Bell was born April 18, 1924, in Plainview, Texas, and entered into rest on Saturday, March 25, 2006, in Albuquerque. Ross was a blessing to all for almost 82 years. He was an active member of the communities in which he resided which included Amarillo, Texas, Hillsboro and Las Cruces. Ross had a long and full life. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a milliner, decorator, antique dealer, estate liquidator and while residing in Hillsboro, a restaurateur, volunteer firefighter and mayor. She encouraged and cheered on Shane and Kaytlyn as well as many students as they participated in their chosen areas of sports and extracurricular activities.
