Campbell Karol K. Campbell, 67, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 26, 2006. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Harold Waldow officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell was born in Lefors and was a resident of Amarillo since 1979. She was a teacher at Sanborn Elementary School for 23 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mrs. Campbell married Billy Richard Campbell on April 12, 1958. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1992. Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie Pauley of Sargent and Sheila Helton and Shannon Campbell, both of Amarillo; a son, Brian Campbell of Amarillo; two brothers, Teddy B. Harrison of Amarillo and Vernon M. Harrison of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a sister, Joan Drake of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Howard Napoleon Cotton Howard Napoleon Cotton, 72, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 26, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in New Light Ministries with the Rev. Richard Murray, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Cotton was born Aug. 29, 1933, in Luther, Okla., to Frederick N. and Lula Simpson Cotton. After graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was honored as a military staff sergeant, serving his country from 1931 to 1968. Upon retirement he was employed by Amarillo Air Force Base. His job provided an opportunity to attend nursing school at Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing, where he graduated in 1975 with a BA degree in nursing. He worked as an RN for Dr. A.B. Ghoston, Gen. Wallington and Mrs. Stanley Marsh. He retired from nursing in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Irabell Juanita Cotton. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Kezse Cotton of Amarillo; three sons, Dennis Turner of Dallas, Ulysses Cotton and Ronald Cotton, both of Amarillo; three daughters, Carolyn Woods of Oklahoma City, Carloyn Cotton and Felicia Cotton, both of Amarillo; two grandsons, Howard B. "Woody" Strout, 62, of Amarillo died Monday, March 27, 2006. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Grand Avenue Baptist Church with Gary Pastwa and Van Cribbs officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Strout was born Dec. 29, 1943, in Amarillo, was raised here and lived here all of his life. He graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College. He married Rhonda Reese in Amarillo in 1983. He has been a bail bondsman in Amarillo for many years. He managed American Bail Bonds, Allied Bail Bonds and Alliance Bail Bonds. He was a watch repairman as well as a professional wrestling promoter. He was baptized at Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Morris worked for Levi Strauss for 16 years as a facilities engineer, retiring in 1982. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in World War II. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service as a master sergeant. Mr. Morris was a Methodist. Guthrie Sr. and Edna Wallace Guthrie in Canyon. She was a lifelong Canyon resident until 2004 when she moved to the Craig Retirement Center in Amarillo. She belonged to First United Methodist Church of Canyon. She married Clinton Oldham on Aug. 25, 1934. Carrie was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton, in 1976; a brother, John A. Guthrie, Jr.; and a sister, Louise Guthrie Brown. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Prairie Dell Cemetery in Hemphill County by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Chumbley was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Canadian. He married Reta Beth Cook on April 28, 1956, in Hemphill County. He worked for Halliburton for 21 years, working for five years in Alaska and several weeks in Oman in the Middle East. He was a cross country truck driver for 10 years, and he loved being behind the wheel of a truck. But most of all, he was a very thoughtful, loving husband, dad and grandparent. He was very grateful to the Lord for what he had been allowed to be a part of in life. He loved to fish, not so much to catch fish but the calm of being outdoors and visiting with fellow fishermen. He was a member of Barrett Baptist Church, which later became Cornerstone Baptist Church, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Mae Ortega, on Oct. 14, 1994. Survivors include his wife, Reta Chumbley of Pampa; two sons, Terry Wayne Chumbley and wife Dana and Todd Allen Chumbley, all of Pampa; a daughter, Deena Gayle Hart and husband Jim of Pampa; his mother, Doris Chumbley of Canadian; a brother, Billy D.
