Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with Sherman Eastland, pastor of The Gathering at Bethel, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Barrett was born March 21, 1947, in Bakersfield, Calif., to William G. and Lavada Pelham. She married Lewis Barrett on July 16, 1965, in Amarillo. Mrs. Barrett held her family dear and her world revolved around them. She opened her heart to others and served as a foster mother. She and Lewis, along with Sherman Eastland, worked together with church youth groups. Mrs. Barrett enjoyed arts and crafts. Bowling was also a favorite activity. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband, Lewis Barrett of Amarillo; a son, Jason Barrett of Amarillo; her mother, Lavada Pelham of Amarillo; a sister, Elaine Pope of Henderson, Ark.; and three nieces, Shanean Graham of Savannah, Ga., and Laci Elgin and Belinda Venhaus, both of Amarillo. Mr. Fancher was born Feb. 2, 1943, to Veva Jo Highfill in Oklahoma City, and was one-quarter Delaware Indian. He was an Vietnam Army veteran and a cattle hauler for IBP. Ron was a kind man, a special Dad, a wonderful Grandpa and will forever live in the memory of those he touched. Survivors include a son, Christopher Fancher; a daughter, Stefanie Gambrell and husband Rick; two half brothers, Billy Fancher and Joe Craig Fancher; a half sister, Debbie Mozley; former wife of 25 years, Jo Beth Fancher; and two grandchildren, Clayton and Addison Gambrell. ============================================================================== ===== Ollie Mae Gardner Ollie Mae Gardner, 95, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, in Denver. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Perry Hunsaker officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Gardner, daughter of William and Anna Crawford, was born March 6, 1911, in Hunt County. She graduated from Celeste High School and received her bachelor of science in education from Southeast Oklahoma State in 1933. She began teaching in Tulia. She married Burlin N. Gardner in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1978. The Gardner family moved to Amarillo in 1942. She taught first grade for many years at Avondale Elementary School. She retired from teaching in 1975. The Gardner family were charter members of St. Paul United Methodist Church. In addition to church work and activities, Mrs. Gardner also was a charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa Education Sorority, and a member of the Federated WomenÕs Club and Texas Retired Teachers Association. After retirement, she served as a volunteer at Baptist St. AnthonyÕs Hospital. Survivors include a daughter, Dannye Boyer and husband Charles of Littleton, Colo.; two grandchildren, Carol Cooley and husband Ray of Littleton and Becky Byers and husband Scott of San Antonio; and five great-grandchildren, Megan, Brooke, Kaitlyn, Noah and Madeleine. Grove, 38, of Amarillo died Sunday, April 2, 2006. Mr. Grove was born Jan. 23, 1968, in Hereford to Kenneth Dale Grove and Helen Padilla Grove. He worked in construction as a tile setter. Mrs. Pearce was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Spokane, Wash., to James and Minnie Ashley. She graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. She married George R. Pearce on July 30, 1943, in Rapid City, S.D. He preceded her in death in 1992 and her son, James Reed Pearce, preceded her in 1951. Mrs. Pearce worked for the Potter County ClerkÕs office for more than 15 years, retiring in the late 1980s. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was also involved for many years with the Potter-Randall Democratic Club and received a lifetime membership to the Palo Duro High School Booster Club. Mr. Harlow attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in geology in 1956. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Carole Arlene Lombard on Aug. 24, 1954. Mr. Harlow started his career as a petroleum geologist with Kerr-McGee Corp. in Amarillo in 1956, and has resided in Amarillo since that time. He became an independent oil and gas producer in 1960 and started his own company, the Harlow Corp., in 1975. His most recent career activity included petroleum exploration in Australia. Mr. Harlow was an active outdoor adventurer and hunter. He was founder and former president of the Amarillo Chapter-Safari Club International. He was a patron of the Amarillo Symphony and Amarillo Museum of Art. Mr. Harlow was a former member of the board of managers for the Amarillo Health and Science Foundation and the Texas Research League. He also was a member of the Amarillo Club and Amarillo Country Club. Mr. Harlow was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lee Harlow in 1950; his wife, Carole Arlene Harlow, in 1973; his father, William Van Hooser Harlow Sr., in 1991; his mother, Sybil Marie Rose Harlow, in 1993; and his wife, Carol Ann Cline Harlow in 1993. Survivors include his lifelong friend and companion, Jamie Scott Farrah of Grove, Okla.; a son, Van Harlow of Concord, Mass.; a daughter, Dana Harlow Bartosh of Granger; and four grandchildren, Haley, Bryce, Abby and Brooke. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery by Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Elda Mae Smith, daughter of Jimmie Charles and Vista Pauline Taylor Sargent, was born March 26, 1954, in Pasadena, Texas, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 3, 2006, at Share Medical Center in Alva, at the age of 52 years and 8 days. Elda graduated from Stinnett High School. On June 3, 1972, she was united in marriage to Jim Tom Smith at Stinnett. They lived in Fritch and Dumas, Texas, before moving to Alva in 1988. She started her career in nursing homes while living in Texas. In January 1989, she began working at Share Medical Center and continued there as director of Environmental Services until February 2005. She was a member of College Hill Church of Christ and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed camping, traveling and auctions. Elda had a deep love for her family and NaNa cherished her three beautiful grandchildren.
