Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Angel Funeral Home Chapel, 2209 S. Arthur St., with Bob Thomas officiating. Mr. Hernandez was born Dec. 12, 1956, in Lockney. He was owner of Vettes Plus. He married Gloria Irene Cobb. He was preceded in death by his father, Rogelio Roy Hernandez Sr.; his mother, Maria Veliz Hernandez; and a nephew, Joey Kidd. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Irene Hernandez; two sons, Jonathan Tudor Hernandez of Amarillo and Danny Karr of Arkansas; six daughters, Jennifer Davis of Oklahoma City, Yvette Tudor of Plano, Eva Dominguez, Lisa Martin, and Ker're Hernandez, all of Amarillo, and Candice Hernandez of North Carolina; three sisters, Esmeralda Ash and husband Tom and Veda Gutierrez and husband Joe, all of Amarillo, and Erma Hernandez of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church with Monsignor Raymond Crosier officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Morales was born April 21, 1929, in Fort Collins, Colo., to John and Mary Gallegos Bosser. She married her husband of 56 years, Humberto Morales on Sept. 20, 1949, in Brighton, Colo. Her loving husband and family surrounded her as she passed after a long and valiant fight with deteriorating health. She was a loving, caring and compassionate wife and mother. Delia had a number of loves: family, faith, laughing, cooking, slot machines and scary movies. However, her legacy was to teach all around her the importance of living life to the fullest and to make the most of precious moments. She will remain an inspiration to her entire family and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and remembered forever. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John Bosser; a sister, Grace Lujan; and four brothers, Johnny, Tony, Charlie and Tommy Bosser. James married Tanis Price on May 3, 1997, in Amarillo. James owned and operated McMorries Appraisal Co. James was a loving son, husband, father and Papaw and will be dearly missed by family and friends. James had a great sense of humor and a little stubborn streak to go along. He helped everyone he could even if he didn't know them. James was preceded in death by his mother, Helen McMorries. Billy Jack Avent was born June 29, 1983, in Amarillo to Jack and Patricia Dunlap Avent. Billy attended school in Pampa, where he was raised until his freshman year in 1998, when the family moved to Follett. He was a 2002 graduate of Follett High School. Billy worked for National Oil Well Service. Billy was known as a very giving person, showing his unselfishness to anyone in need. He received many fulfillments from helping handicapped children and older people in need. Billy loved his music and his truck. Riding around on his four-wheeler or anything with wheels - that was Billy. He loved animals, especially his dog, Jade. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Dunlap; and two aunts, Karletta Alsdurf and Fay Gress. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church in Memphis with the Rev. Gary Boles officiating. The family will have a private burial in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Bluegrove to the late Mr. Lewis Lee Brown and Mrs. Willie Mae Simons Brown. He moved to Childress at the age of 17 to learn the parts business from his brother. He married Polly Kerr on Dec. 26, 1938, in Hollis, Okla. He opened Brown Auto Supply in Memphis in 1946. Mr. Brown owned and operated the business until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed a long retirement, keeping active in such activities as playing golf and hunting and fishing. Lee was very fond of his bird dogs and loved working in his yard. He also enjoyed playing bridge with his wife and good friends. Mr. Brown was a member of First United Methodist Church in Memphis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; a sister; and a daughter, Fredna Bowman, on Jan. 23, 2006. Mr. Davis was born Nov. 12, 1932, in Newlin to the late Trilton Tynus Davis and Faye Moore Davis. Mr. Davis was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He graduated from Estelline High School in 1951. He married Monna Francis Burk on Dec. 27, 1950, in Memphis. Mr. Davis farmed and worked on the railroad until 1954, when he became employed by Owens & Scott Grocery in Wellington. In 1960, Mr. Davis moved to Memphis and entered into the ownership of a new grocery store, where he remained in business until his death. Mr. Davis was active in the community of Memphis by serving as a director for the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, the Donley County Water District and Memphis State Bank. He was a member of the Lions Club. Mr. Davis also served as a past director of Affiliated Foods of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Trilton and Faye Davis; and a nephew, Bennett Davis. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger. Mr. Jones was born June 4, 1935, in Camargo, Okla. He was a Dumas resident since April 1967. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. He started in law enforcement in 1961 in Plainview. He was in the Dumas Police Department for 27 years. The day after he retired, Jan. 10, 1994, he started to work as a reserve deputy for Moore County Sheriff's Department, then as court bailiff in 1995, and on Oct. 1, 1998, became a full-time deputy until his retirement on July 31, 2000. He married Junia "Judy" Mae Thompson on Sept. 17, 1956, in Clayton, N.M.; she preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 2000. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Paul Jones, on March 6, 2005. They were married 71 years. He worked for Childress County 40 years, retiring in 1985. Francis and Edith were King and Queen of Old Settlers Reunion in 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elton and Virgil Simmons; and a sister, Betty Jean Wright. Glazner and Louise Price Glazner. He married Dorothy Hill on June 13, 1947, in Wellington. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a farmer and rancher. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin sister, Sammie Louise Gaither. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home. Mr. Gillispie was born May 6, 1926, in Shamrock to Thomas Jefferson Gillispie and Bessie Edith Gillispie. He met and married Hazel Sanderson on July 11, 1943, in Shamrock. They were married for 62 years. Mr. Gillispie bred and raised horses all his life. He also showed and raced horses. He was a strong, Christian man who was saved shortly after he married. He was a member of Church of God in Shamrock, but recently was attending Arena of Life Cowboy Church in McLean. He was a wonderful, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He had a large family, whom he loved very much and to whom he was very special. He was a very wise and well-respected horse person, whom everyone loved very much. He always had a smile on his face to encourage and uplift everyone. He felt all his friends were his family, too. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with Scott Maze, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Grandfield Cemetery in Grandfield, Okla., by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Jackson was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Lexington, Okla. He was a 1941 graduated of the University of Oklahoma. Beginning in February 1942 he served in the U.S. Army in World War II as a major in the Field Artillery, 88th Infantry Division in North Africa and Italy. He was discharged from the service in February 1945. He married Doris Murray on Dec. 2, 1945. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1984. He was married to Laverne Harwell of Vega on Jan. 31, 1987. He was an active consulting petroleum engineer until his recent illness. He and Laverne were active in First Baptist Church of Borger. He was a 32nd Degree Mason who had recently been honored as a 50-year member of the Borger Masonic Lodge and was a charter member of Tranquility Lodge No. 2000 AF&AM. He was a lifetime member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a past president. He was an active member of the Texas PPROA. He was a charter member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers of A.I.M.E., frequently serving on its board of directors. He was a Legion of Honor member of S.P.E. International for more than 50 years of continuous service. Crow, 85, died Saturday, April 8, 2006. Services were Monday in French Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. Mr. Crow was a graduate of West Texas State University and served in the Navy during World War II. Jack, Rosetta and their three children moved to Albuquerque in 1948 from Canyon, and he worked at ACF Industries for many years. In 1968 Jack and Rosetta moved back to Canyon and opened Jack's Cash Grocery. They sold the grocery store in 1978 and returned to Albuquerque where they worked as property managers for Cauwells and Davis until they retired. Jack was a member of University Church of Christ for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 58 years, Rosetta, in 1997. Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Skidmore and husband Jack and Anita Merrill, all of Albuquerque; a son, Jack L. Crow of Albuquerque; a sister, Rita Jo Lee and her family of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Ronald D. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa with Billy Rais of Midland officiating. Mary "Arlene" Treeby went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2006. Arlene was born Nov. 24, 1915, to James and Tilda Swanson Peck in Alexander, N.D., the only daughter of seven children. After a time of helping her brother in ministry, she met and married Dwight Lowell Treeby in 1935. The new couple began a lifelong ministry as ordained ministers of the Assemblies of God, pastoring and evangelizing in many locations in the Northwestern and Southwestern states. Arlene and Dwight settled in Odessa in 1977 and both continued their faithful service for the Lord. She was a strong and courageous woman who was not afraid to take on tasks that many women would be frightened to take on. Arlene was devoted to the care of her family and to her work for the Lord. She suffered the loss of her husband in 1999 and in 2003, relocated to New Orleans to spend time near her son, William D. Treeby and his family. Hurricane Katrina relocated Arlene once again to Denton, where she resided until her death at Lake Forrest Good Samaritan Village a few blocks from her daughter, Betty Copeland's, home. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, Mervin, Wesley, David, Lawrence and Donald Peck. Survivors include a brother, John E. Peck of Edmonds, Wash.; two children, Betty Copeland of Denton and William D. Treeby of New Orleans; six grandchildren, Zelda Wilmoth, Janis Adkins, Rhonda Hare, Vance Harper Jonathan, Treeby and Patrick Treeby; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many, many friends.
