Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Lisa Yvette Cherry-Dogan was born May 13, 1957, in Amarillo. She was a 1975 graduate of Palo Duro High School and was inducted into the 2005 PDHS Hall of Fame. She graduated from West Texas State University with a BS in mass communications. She married her beloved husband, Anthony Ray Dogan of Sugar Land, Texas, on June 24, 2000. She was the granddaughter of the late Nathaniel and Rubie Lee Cherry of Amarillo and George and Lillian Woods of Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by the following aunts and uncles, Synada "Mr. C." Cherry of Amarillo, Nathaniel Cherry Jr. of Fort Worth, Marvin Gene Cherry of Pittsburgh, and DeWitt Woods, Georgia M. Green and Lillie Pearl Simpkins, all of Fort Worth. Mrs. Cherry-Dogan was a veteran of the Amarillo Police Department. She was a member of the Amarillo Police Officers Association, Amarillo College Board of Regents, Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Board, YES 79107 Steering Committee, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority-Amarillo Alumnae Chapter, Junior League of Amarillo, American Cancer Society Board and Hope and Healing Board. She was named 2004 Beta Sigma Phi Woman of the Year and received the Communication and Leadership Award from the Amarillo Chapter of Toastmasters International. She will be remembered for her reverence to the Lord, her love for her family and country. Mrs. Shortridge was born May 15, 1916, in Great Falls. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. White was born in Durant, Okla., and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1945. She cared for many of the children of prominent families in Amarillo in a day care that she operated in her home. She was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. She wrote poetry and loved to recite poetry before others. She married W. E. White in 1940 at Childress. He preceded her in death 19 years exactly to the date of her death. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Guy Marshall; a granddaughter, Jill Marie Marshall; a great-grandson, Skyler Marshall; and her parents, Bessie and Ben Davis. Sandra was born Nov. 23, 1950, to Willard and Iva Lou O'Neal in Amarillo. She worked as credit manager for the Amarillo Globe-News for 16 years before she retired in February 2002. While working at the Amarillo Globe-News she was involved in many community programs. She was a board member of the Maverick Boys Club and was a loaned executive and an account executive for United Way. She was a HOSTS tutor for Amarillo ISD, served on the Amarillo Globe-News In-House Committee for the United Way, and was the co-coordinator for the Empty Stocking Program for many years. She worked for Bealls Department Store in Westgate Mall after she retired. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She was known as "Nana" to her grandchildren and "Sassa" to her great-nieces and great-nephew. She was preceded in death by both her parents; and a sister, Lynda K. Eddy. Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Lee Reynolds; his second wife, Rose Reynolds; and a son, Ronnie Reynolds. Tressie was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Vian, Okla., and moved to Amarillo as a child. In 1941, she married Bob Gibson, who served in World War II entertaining our troops with some of the big bands in Europe. Later they had their own music store in Amarillo and the Bob Gibson Trio performed as a dance band for many years throughout the Panhandle. A special thanks to Hansford County Hospice Program which cared so wonderfully for Tressie in her final journey to Heaven. She was raised in Pampa, and graduated from Pampa High School in 1939. After graduating from Baylor University she served in the U.S. Navy during World War II for three years. Mrs. Price married John T. Price in 1950; he preceded her in death in 1992. She moved to McLean in 2001 from Odessa. Mrs. Price was a 50-year member of the Floyd Easterling Eastern Star in Odessa. She was a Baptist. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Hargis of Odessa and Cynthia Hauck and husband Don of McLean; a son, John H. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Irene was born June 25, 1922, in Plainview to Robert Custer and Mattie Daffern. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1940 and Lubbock Beauty School in 1941. She met and married Lt. Harry Allen Hardaway on May 22, 1943, in Plainview. They immediately moved to Pampa Air Force Base where Harry served as a flight instructor. After World War II they moved to Happy, where Irene became involved in many community activities. She served as president of PTA, Worthy Matron of OES, board member of the Methodist Church, RSVP, and was very active in Happy Senior Citizens. Irene was a fan of Happy High School athletics and enjoyed attending girls basketball. The family is grateful to the staff at BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment and to the staff at Craig Methodist Retirement Center for their loving care. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Claudia Helen Rudd was born Nov. 29, 1912, to James and Lula Berry Rudd on the family farm northwest of Texhoma, Okla. At the age of 16 Claudia accepted Jesus Christ into her life and her faith has been an inspiration to family and friends. She graduated high school in Goodwell, Okla., in 1931. Claudia graduated from Panhandle Agricultural and Mechanical College in Goodwell in 1935 with a degree in home economics and science. Claudia married John Schellenberg on June 27, 1937; he died July 20, 1960, in Dalhart. Following John's death Claudia became a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked as an LVN at Coon Memorial Hospital and Home for 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dalhart, volunteering in the nursery Sunday school department. She was also preceded in death by a son, James. Carla Jo Kuhn was born Jan. 11, 1956, in Beeville to Johna and Caroline Kuhn. She died Sunday, April, 9, 2006, in Pueblo, Colo., at the age of 50. She worked as a nurse's aide for several years in McLean and surrounding area. Her work was important to her and her patients enjoyed her caring ways. She was preceded in death by her mother, Caroline Kuhn, in 1984. He then moved to Amarillo, Texas, where he owned and operated All City Plumbing until 1997. He enjoyed semi-retirement in Buncombe Creek, where he spent the remainder of his life. Butch loved spending time with friends, caring for his mother, cooking and fishing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
