Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Mike Miracle officiating. Don was born in Amarillo. He attended Forest Hill Elementary, Travis Junior High and Palo Duro High School, where he took pride in being a Don. He left Amarillo to join the Navy where he spent 11 years serving his country. At the time of his death he lived in Port Angeles. His favorite place was his RV Park where he spent many days building rout ponds and taking pictures of the beautiful countryside. He had a very compassionate heart and never met a stranger. He touched many lives in his short 60 years on Earth. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, papa and uncle. Don left many friends and will be missed by all. Survivors include his mother, Bert Borrelli; his wife, Bobbi Shields; two sons, Donald Jr. and wife Sandra, Robert and wife Alisa; a daughter, Wendy; a sister, Sammie Miracle and husband Mike; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109. She married Rodney Bos on Nov. 25, 1966, in Osborne, Kan. She was a longtime Moore County resident and was a resident of Colorado Springs for 23 years. Simpson, 86, of Tulsa, Okla., died Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Avinger Cemetery with Davis Simpson officiating. Local arrangements were by Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Inc. Rolan C. Simpson, devoted husband, father and friend, departed this life Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Rolan was born March 3, 1920, in Avinger, attended Avinger High School and College of Marshall before serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Dorothy Bush Simpson of Lubbock in 1947. Roland was active in the lumber and house building business in Avinger and Lubbock during most of his career. His civic duties sent him serving as a City Councilman in Lubbock and as a potentate for the Khiva Shrine Center in Amarillo in the 70s (the center is dedicated to treating severe burns in children). He retired to Sedona and Phoenix, Ariz., and Tulsa, Okla. Rolan had a unique style for making everyone he met feel special and welcomed. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Bush Simpson of Tulsa; a son, Dr. John B. Simpson and wife Lynn of Woodside, Calif.; a daughter, D'Aunn Simpson of Tulsa and Port Townsend, Wash.; grandchildren, Kimberly and Dr. David Mauney, Lindi and Dr. Philippe Marco, Douglas and Kendall Rohlen, John David Simpson, Amy Binion of Boise, Idaho, and Cuyler Binion of San Francisco; great grandchildren, Natalie, David Maxton and Mallory Mauney of Atherton, Calif., Philippe, Jean Claude, Xavier, and Isabel Marco of Atherton and Luke, Thomas and Harrison Rohlen of Woodside.
