Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home Wilburn Dewitt Cash was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Hedley to Pleasant W. and Mabel Mendenhall Cash. He graduated from Dalhart High School. He was a farm hand prior to entering into World War II and was a letter carrier for more than 22 years after returning to Dalhart. Dewitt was married to Bernice Webster. She died on June 22, 1985. Mr. Cash was a highly decorated veteran of WWII and on Dec. 10, 2004, he received belated recognition from the U.S. government for six overdue medals and the honorable service lapel pin. He quietly thanked everyone and blended into the crowd. That's Dewitt ... quietly watching and listening. He was a retired educator with his career including: being a building trades teacher in Pampa and Lake Jackson and superintendent of Hartley Independent School District. After retiring from his career in education, he spent the remainder of his life in real estate investments. Claude "Robbie" Robertson loved the lord and was strong in his faith. He loved unconditionally and was loved by everyone who knew him. He kept his sense of humor in every situation and was intelligent and had a quick wit about him. He loved to laugh and was a great friend. He was genuine and kind-hearted. He will be desperately missed and will be remembered for his will to make people laugh and feel loved. Hughes St. Barbara Nell Coffer-Anderson was born June 19, 1955, in Borger to Richard C. and Pinkie D. Coffer. She attended the public schools of Borger, graduating from high school. She furthered her education at West Texas A&M University. She married Willis Anderson on Dec. 22, 1978. To this union two children were born. She began her Christian experience at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church in Borger. Upon moving to Amarillo, she united with St. John Baptist Church, serving as president of the usher board, Danyale Prayer Retreat and Pastor's Advisory Committee. She was employed as juvenile probation officer in Potter County for 17 years. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Red was born July 15, 1930, in Foard County and moved to Amarillo in 1942. He was a 1949 graduate of Amarillo High School where he met his wife Sara Morehead. They married in August 1949. He worked for Amarillo Globe-News, running the morning news and eventually began his own printing company "Custom Printing" until he retired in 1995. Red was involved with the Khiva Shriners and was a member of the Amarillo Khiva Muleskinners. He loved participating with the Children's Shrine Hospital, where he served on the board. He was a member of the Coors Cowboy Club, the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo Board, BPOE No. 923, Masonic Lodge 1330, Lubbock Scottish Rite and Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitor Council. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He was known to his family as "Papa," lovingly named by his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Crossland was born Dec. 4, 1910, in Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up in Plainview, Texas, where began a career that lasted for more than 40 years with Mobil Oil. He moved to Ruidoso in 1985 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner and a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two wives, Sara Crossland and Minitte Crossland; a son, Robbie Crossland; and a grandson, Clint Crossland. Survivors include his wife, Martha, of Ruidoso; a daughter, Patricia Schmidt of Dumas, Texas; a brother, James Crossland of Plainview; five grandchildren, Candice Babcock, Debby Cotter, Bill Toliver, Pam Cox and Heath Crossland; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two stepdaughters, Janet DeLoache and Elizabeth Graves. The family suggests memorials be to the Shriners Children's Hospital. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Services were at 1 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Funeral Home Garden Chapel. Graveside services will be at noon Saturday in Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock. Faerine Newberry Mitchell was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Goodlett to Gracie and Alph Carl Newberry. She was raised in the Texas Panhandle. Faerine married Charlie Mitchell after World War II and they lived in several places in Texas, but mostly enjoyed the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado.
