She was a homemaker until the kids moved out of the house and then she worked for Gibson's, J-Gee's Department Store and was currently working for Alco in Tulia. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Kiowiah Isham and Odell Isham. Mrs. Atkins was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mobeetie. She was preceded in death by her husband; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Ryan Atkins and Tyler Jayne Atkins. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson and Dr. Winfred Moore officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Sutton was born Aug. 7, 1913, in Collinsville, Okla. He graduated from Sand Springs High School, where he excelled in track and field winning numerous medals in pole vaulting and tennis. He attended Oklahoma State University, formerly Oklahoma A&M, to get a pre-med degree and then transferred to Kirksville School of Osteopathy & Surgery, Kirksville, Mo. He married Frances Kerr on Nov. 24, 1938, in Sand Springs, Okla. They moved to Amarillo in 1945 with White and Kirk Department Store, where he was a window decorator. He decorated windows for many years all over the Panhandle. He was a general contractor based in Amarillo for many years until his retirement at the age of 78. He and his wife loved to travel and had the opportunity to go to six continents. He loved the game of golf and shot his age (83) on his 83rd birthday. He and Mrs. Sutton had a deep love for worldwide missions and were instrumental in planting churches and schools in India and Brazil. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon as well as on many committees and served as a greeter at the front doors of the church since 1951. He was a member of the Henry Brown Sunday School Class. Mr. and Mrs. Sutton were instrumental in starting Faith City Mission with founders Dick and Bea Hogan. Mr. Sutton has served on the board of directors for Faith City Mission for more than 50 years. The new family shelter under construction at this time is to be named "The C.O. and Frances Sutton Family Shelter." The new facility is being built beside the existing facility that was built by Mr. Sutton. He had a servant's heart, a sweet spirit and a deep love for his lord and for his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in 2004; and a son, Stephen Dean Sutton in 2001. Bell St., with Jerry Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Willie Mae Wiley was born April 11, 1921, to Ida Mae Kunz and George Washington Wiley, near Snyder. She graduated from Ira High School in 1940 and on June 1 of that same year, she married A.G. Flippin. They lived initially in Snyder, but moved to Amarillo in 1942. Willie Mae's primary career was that of homemaker, but she also worked as a telephone operator for a period during World War II and the early '50s.She then was bookkeeper for A.G.'s plumbing business. In 1962, they moved to the farm near Vega and Willie Mae helped with the farming and ranching operations. She also worked for 10 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Vega and Amarillo. Willie Mae was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church and later attended Trinity Baptist in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her four brothers.Survivors include her husband of almost 66 years; her children, Wanda O'Connor of Round Rock and Arvil Flippin Jr. of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be five grandsons and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Imogene Geisler, in 1990. Bill was a loving son, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in-law and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father in April 2000.
