Mrs. Winters worked for many years as a licensed vocational nurse. She graduated from Samnorwood High School, where she played basketball. Gloria was born July 4, 1944, in Wapato, Wash., the first of 10 children, and was raised in Denver. She moved to Amarillo from Denver in 1981. She married Frank Wrather in 1985 in Lubbock. She graduated from Amarillo College School of Nursing in 1999 and was a nurse at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital. Gloria had a passion for nursing. She also loved to garden, cook and work on her home. She was preceded in death by a son, Manuel Granado III, in 1960; and brothers, Sammy Valdez, Carlos Valdez and Ruben Valdez. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, Tulia Garden Club, Quilting Club and she was a member of a study club. She enjoyed many things such as quilting, painting and working with porcelain. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She married J.W. "Hap" Rogers on July 12, 1941, in Frederick, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.M. and Mattie Capps; two sisters, Stella Woolsey and Pauline Stanley; three brothers, Leonard Capps, Jack Capps and M.C. Capps; and a great-grandson, Cortlyn Arnold. She later married Hall Hardin, also in Clarendon, in 1989. Ms. Hardin was a school teacher for more than 30 years and contributed greatly to her students. She was a Baptist and very active in First Baptist Church of Clarendon and Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with the Women's Missionary Union, taught English to adults at Brownwood Family Services and was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. Ms. Hardin had lived in Brownwood since 1993, and previously lived in Clarendon more than 70 years. Ms. Hardin was preceded in death by husbands, Hershel Heath and Hall Hardin; a son, Patrick Heath; parents, Stanley and Beulah Hancock Carlile; and a brother. W.S. Carlile.
