Mrs. Burton was born May 3, 1936, in Bromide, Okla., to Bud and Lola Mae Palmer Johnson. She married William Edward Burton on April 25, 1954, in Durant, Okla. Survivors include her husband of Quanah; three daughters, Debbie Barton of Roanoke, Becky Barfield of Childress and Nolene Wright of Tallahassee, Fla.; a son, Rick Burton of Quanah; three sisters, Alice Hook of Norman, Okla., Katie Talley of Groom and Mary Belle of San Diego; two brothers, James Johnson of Madill, Okla., and Jackie Johnson of Norman; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Ms. Yell was born March 7, 1937, in Farwell, Texas, to Bill and Zuda Yell. Michael Burkett, pastor, and the Rev. Katie Brown, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. The son of Evaline Oldham and J.J. Boston, he was born Dec. 22, 1911, in Goodwell. He attended Goodwell grade school, Texhoma High School and graduated from Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell with a degree in commerce. He was a lifetime Texas County resident. While at Panhandle, he dated and later married Lois Wallin in 1936. He and his brother, Sid Boston, operated a plumbing and electric business that turned into a furniture and appliance store. He was later a partner in Independent Hardware. He enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by a sister; and six brothers. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Lois Boston of Guymon; three daughters, Gay Houser and husband Jerry, Charlene Cates and husband Irwin, all of Guymon, and Vicki Bryan and husband Jack of Rogers, Ark.; five grandchildren, Todd Houser, Kevin Cates, Kelli Nelson, Brad Bryan and Debbi McCant; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edythe Boston of Canyon City, Colo.
