Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Paramount Baptist Church with Gil Lain officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Cook was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Hall County to James and Jewel Gowdy. She led an active life in New Mexico. She was a Realtor in Clovis for 39 years, and after she moved to Amarillo, she enjoyed activities with her friends and her church, Paramount Baptist Church. She was a kind and loving person who helped many people throughout her lifetime. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a wonderful cook. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, B.A. Cook; her parents; and a brother, Morris Gowdy. Survivors include two daughters, Lucy Livingston of Enterprise, Ala., and Mary Katheren Arrington of Sweetwater; two brothers, Ron Gowdy of Amarillo and Ernest Gowdy of Bronte; a sister, Ima Ruth Hancock of Memphis; three grandchildren, Tucker Livingston, Billie Ruth Baker and Katheren Fowler; and five great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Ranson, Braxton, Caleb and Lucas. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Sell was born Oct. 27, 1923, to George T. Gilkerson and Lena Gilkerson in Higgins and had lived in Amarillo for more than 57 years. She married Eugene Sell in August 1942. He preceded her in death in 1975. Mrs. Sell had been a secretary for Pritchard & Abbot for many years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Martha's Circle and Church Women United. She was also a member of the Other Side of 50, and she was a former member of Desk and Derrick. She was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan James Moore in 1961; a brother, Pete Gilkerson; and a sister, Chlorita Long. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Sister Armela Larcher died Saturday, April 29, after a lengthy illness. Sister Armela was born in Horn, Canton Thurgau, Switzerland, on March 21, 1906. She received her initial religious training in Tbach, Switzerland. She traveled to Colombia, South America, in 1931, made her first profession of vows in August 1933, and taught needlework in Colombia until 1937, when she was sent to the United States to serve in various houses in New Mexico, California and Texas. She retired from active ministry in 1982, remaining in Amarillo until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include several nephews as well as the Franciscan Sisters of the United States Province. Mrs. Conoley was born in New Orleans to Thomas C. and Sallie Buchanan Robinson. She attended Gentilly Terrace from kindergarten through eighth grade and Joan McDonough Girls High School until she moved to Texas with her family in 1931. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1934. During World War II, she was employed as a clerk in the superintendent's office of Southern Pacific Railroad Co. in El Paso and later as a clerk in the superintendent's office at Pacific and Santa Fe Railway Co. in Amarillo. She married Royce M. Conoley in 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James T. White in 1947; her second husband, Royce M. Conoley on June 14, 2001; and three brothers, Thomas C. Robinson Jr., James A. Robinson and W. Gordon Robinson. Survivors include a son, Thomas C. Conoley and wife, Karen, of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Ann Bailiff of Brownwood; a stepson, David R. Mr. Coleman served in the Air Force and had a passion for flying and airplanes. He was employed at Pantex for 37 years and loved woodworking and the outdoors. From 1978 to 1995, he served in Christian Relief Fund as a treasury board member. He served as an elder for 20 years at Forest Hill Church of Christ and at West Amarillo Church of Christ until 1996. Mr. Coleman was a very dedicated man in his beliefs, nonjudgmental and very compassionate for the needy. He was a devoted father and a loving grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Garnet Coleman. "Cap" Needham, 98, of Amarillo died Thursday, April 27, 2006. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with Todd Blackhurst of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Needham was born Jan. 25, 1908, in Livingston, Tenn. He graduated from high school in Mangum, Okla. He married Lula King in 1934 in Kirkland and moved to Amarillo in 1942. He served as deputy sheriff in Muleshoe before moving to Amarillo. He worked for the Highland Park Independent School District as the school bus foreman for many years before his retirement. After retirement, he owned and operated Amarillo Tours in Amarillo for 10 years. He was active at the Amarillo Senior Citizens for many years, enjoying playing pool and attending the weekly dances. He was a lifelong Baptist and was active in church all of his life. He was a member of East Amarillo Baptist Church, a member for many years at Paramount Baptist Church and then became a member of Trinity Baptist Church in 1990. He served as a deacon and taught Sunday school for many years at the different churches where he and his family were members. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1982; his parents; and six brothers. Mrs. Noble-Bell passed away from gastric cancer on Thursday, April 27 Kay was born Oct. 15, 1940, in St. Joseph, Mo. She began her professional career as a wrestler in 1957 and continued through the early 1980s. She married Dick Bell on Nov. 25, 1985, in St. Joseph. After retiring, she owned and operated Kay's Upholstery located on southwest Sixth street. She later worked in pediatrics at BSA, where she dedicated her later years to children. Kay lived her years as a Methodist. He worked for Yellow Freight as a transporter. Mr. Williams was a very loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling and playing computer games with his grandchildren. Mrs. Boyd was born May 24, 1911, in Memphis. She had been a Dumas resident since 1915. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She married Howard "Howdy" Boyd on Jan. 8, 1933, in Memphis. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1992. Mill organized the art department at Dumas High School in 1961. She taught private lessons for more than 20 years. She was active in the Art Association, Chamber of Commerce and Dumas Garden Club. She was a board member of Dumas Youth, Inc., a deaconess at First Presbyterian Church and worked on the child welfare board. She was also active in the Democratic Womens Association, Dumas Historical and Genealogy Society and many other clubs and organizations. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Cy Burnett. She attended Westway school to the ninth grade and graduated from Hereford High School in 1941. She graduated from McCullough Business School in Hereford. She was employed by Hereford Potato Growers and Howard Gault Co. in Hereford. She moved to Amarillo and worked for the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce for 14 years. She married J.C. Reeves and moved to Shamrock, where she served for 14 years as chamber of commerce manager. "Nanny" will be greatly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Bransford Little and Eugene Walter Little, and a son, Pat Darwin McMurray. Survivors include two sons, Lee H. McMurray of Amarillo and Ron E. Private entombment preceding the service will be in Hillcrest Mausoleum by Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Mrs. Hickman, a native Texan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28. Born on Dec. 29, 1922, in Dallas to Nellie May Wilson and Charles F. Wilson, Ginny, as everyone knew her, was a strong Christian lady who loved her family and friends. Ginny graduated from Highland Park High School in 1940 and attended Plan II at the University of Texas, where she graduated in 1944. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Ginny was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Henry A. Hickman. Moving between Dallas and Amarillo because of her husband's banking career, Ginny was active in a several charities and organizations including the Amarillo Symphony Guild, the Amarillo Junior Travel Study Club and the Bankers Wives Association. She was a charter member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church. She will be lovingly remembered for her passion for the University of Texas Longhorns, her boundless energy and her enthusiastic love of life. She was a lifelong sports fan and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in athletics. Survivors include a son, Charles Hickman and wife, Vicki; a daughter, Tricia Jolesch and husband, Bruce W. Jolesch; three grandchildren whom she loved so much, Chase, Drew and Austin Jolesch; and several friends and family members in Amarillo, including Mary Nell Lemert and John Charles Sticksel.
