Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Panhandle Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Lane and the Rev. Jeff Matsler officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Mrs. Roach was born March 3, 1921, in Eureka Springs, Ark., and was a Panhandle resident for 52 years. She married Oren Dewey Roach on Nov. 25, 1939, in Memphis. She loved her family, bowling and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Panhandle. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; 13 brothers and sisters; and her parents. Survivors include a son, Oren "Butch" Roach and wife, Brenda, of White Deer; a daughter, Georgia Lane and husband, Roy, of Panhandle; seven grandchildren, Karrie Smith, Shawn Smith, Scott Roach, Mary Strain, Kelly Lane, Misty Watson and Ricky Watson; and four great-grandchildren, Chad, Jason, Alec and Austin. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mr. Gutierrez was born Aug. 4, 1924, to Pilar Gutierrez and Petra Campos Gutierrez in San Juan. He met Guadalupe Loredo 52 years ago and raised a wonderful family together. Mr. Wieland departed this life in Arlington and joined his loving wife of 72 years, Edna Louise Ryals Wieland, in heaven on Saturday, April 29. Leonard was born in Syracuse, Kan., on Feb. 4, 1911, to Mary and Frank Wieland. He married Edna in 1933. Leonard was reared a Roman Catholic and later in life joined First Baptist Church in Canyon. Leonard had an entrepreneurial spirit, having started several successful businesses in Borger, Dumas and Perryton. He and Edna retired to Canyon in 1982 and moved to Arlington in 2003 to be near their daughters and families. Leonard will always be remembered as a great storyteller, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and a talented businessman. He leaves a wealth of humorous stories to his survivors and will always be remembered for his sense of humor, which brought laughter to every gathering he attended. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; six brothers; two sisters; and a daughter, Joy. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Drake and husband, Harry, Lou Dawson and husband, Corky, and Tommye Allen and husband, Steve; eight loving grandchildren, Pam Allen Becker, Joy Smith, De Allen, Jon Allen, Robert Drake, Jimmy Don Dawson, John David Dawson and Joe De Dawson; and 15 great-grandchildren.
