Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Parson was born Dec. 2, 1933, in Okemah, Okla., and lived in Parmer County where he was a farmer for many years. He married Lola Drinkard in 1954 at Rising Star, and they lived in Amarillo for five years. Survivors include his wife of Amarillo; two daughters, Carolyn Emerson and Jamie Parson, both of Amarillo; two sons, Aubrey Parson and Danny Parson, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Helen Gwyn of Rockwall and Carol Neill of Monahans; a brother, Homer Don Parson of Cross Plains; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was born May 4, 1942, in Akins, S.C., and was raised in Birmingham, Ala. She married Curtis Dalrymple Sr. in Amarillo in 1960. She has been a resident of Amarillo for more than 45 years. She worked as a home health care specialist for more than 10 years and was a Santa Claus photographer at Sunset Center for many years. She was very involved with her children throughout their lives in Kids, Inc. and Boy Scouts. She loved to support her sons in their car racing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved very dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christine and James Byrd; her husband; two grandsons, William Dale Dalrymple and Curtis DeWayne Dalrymple; and a daughter, Cricket. Smitty was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Chicago. When she was young her family moved to Amarillo, where she met her husband, Virgil. They were married for 56 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She belonged to First Assembly of God church, and for many years taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She enjoyed making crafts, including beautiful afghans for her loved ones. She did a lot of traveling during her life. She traveled to 44 of the 50 states. She loved to cross stitch and entered some of her cross stitch projects in the Amarillo Tri-State Fair and the Odessa County Fair, winning numerous awards in both fairs. She also loved to work crossword puzzles and loved to read. She worked for Parkview Home Health from October '93 to January 2002. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Thursday Review Club. Mr. Mayfield was born March 23, 1934, in Grady, N.M., was raised there and graduated from high school in Hot Springs, N.M. He married Anita O'Bar on Feb. 18, 1952, in Truth or Consequences, N.M. They moved to Amarillo in 1952. He worked for 17 years for Santa Fe Railway and worked with his nephew, Ronnie Mayfield at Mayfield Roofing for more than 40 years. He moved to Azle in 2000. He was a longtime member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by three sons, Weldon Mayfield in 1963, Terry Mayfield in 1971 and Charles Mayfield in 2001; and two grandsons, Rodd Richmond and Christopher Cusenz. Private entombment preceding the service will be in Hillcrest Mausoleum by Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Mrs. Hickman, a native Texan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28. Born on Dec. 29, 1922, in Dallas to Nellie May Wilson and Charles F. Wilson, Ginny, as everyone knew her, was a strong Christian lady who loved her family and friends. Ginny graduated from Highland Park High School in 1940 and attended Plan II at the University of Texas, where she graduated in 1944. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Ginny was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Henry A. Hickman. Moving between Dallas and Amarillo because of her husband's banking career, Ginny was active in a several charities and organizations including the Amarillo Symphony Guild, the Amarillo Junior Travel Study Club and the Bankers Wives Association. She was a charter member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church. She will be lovingly remembered for her passion for the University of Texas Longhorns, her boundless energy and her enthusiastic love of life. She was a lifelong sports fan and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in athletics. Survivors include a son, Charles Hickman and wife, Vicki; a daughter, Tricia Jolesch and husband, Bruce W.
