Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Jim Bankhead officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Callahan "Bittie" was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Jacksboro to Simmie and Ruby Callahan Jr. He moved to Amarillo in 1926, graduating from Texas A&M University with the Class of '42. Bittie married Margaret Jane Riordan on Dec. 26, 1942. Bittie served his country well in World War II as captain of the 91st Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, receiving the Silver Star and the Bronze Star. He became president of Plains Plumbing Co. Inc. upon the retirement of his father, Simmie O. Callahan Jr. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Jane; a son, Simmie Callahan IV and wife Gayle of Amarillo; a daughter, Margaret Jane Callahan of El Paso; a sister, June Callahan-Pipkin of Amarillo; a niece, Boo Pipkin of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Simmie O. Callahan V, Cody Gayle Callahan and Warren Hunter Callahan; two great-nieces; a great-nephew; and many special friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Mr. Finley was born March 16, 1931, in Mountain Home, Kerr County, to Clifford M. and Lula Shelton Finley. He was a longtime resident of Amarillo, and was dearly loved by many people for his dear and gentle manner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Melvin R. Finley, Delton R. He moved to Hereford in 1957 from California, and was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Survivors include four sisters, Felicitas Jaimes of Lockhart, Maria Gonzales and Ofelia Garcia, both of Hereford, and Rose Mary Martinez of Grand Prairie. Her family remembers that her family meant the world to her. She loved to cook, play 42 and was an avid angel collector. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Vaughn; a daughter, Doris Black; seven brothers; and two sisters. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Presbyterian Village North Joyce Hall Building. He was born June 23, 1930, in Stamford to Newton C. Beam Sr. and E. Louise McCrary Beam. Louie graduated from Wellington High School in 1947. He was a 1951 graduate of Hardin-Simmons University, where he played in the Cowboy Band for several years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 as an ordnance instructor. He was a chemist with Core Laboratories Inc. After his retirement, he lived in Athens. He was an avid reader and a great conversationalist. In October 2005 Louie moved back to Dallas to Presbyterian Village North. Survivors include two brothers, Newton Beam Jr. and wife Ruth of Dallas and Tommy Beam and wife Marilyn of Amarillo; special friend, James E. Gilmer; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
