Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Wichita Falls with the Rev. Brett Coe of First Christian Church in Wichita Falls officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Scholl was born in Burkburnett. She married G.J. Scholl in Wichita Falls in 1934. He passed away in 1968. Mrs. Scholl was a homemaker. She moved to Amarillo 10 years ago to be closer to her family. She cherished her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Sue Scholl of Amarillo and Brenda Ann Scholl of Temple; two sons, Conrad Joseph Scholl of Lincoln, Neb., and Robert Guy Scholl of Amarillo; a sister, Ruby Dell Mhoon of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Lee Ray Royal of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He had been a farmer and member of St. Laurence Cathedral. Survivors include six sons, Humberto Alarcon and Elmer Alarcon, both of Santa Anna, Calif., Pasqual Alarcon of Pomana, Calif., Eduardo Alarcon of Juarez, Chihuahua, Roberto Alarcon of Chihuahua and Alfredo Alarcon of Amarillo; three daughters, Amalia Banda of Juarez, Ana Maria Santos of El Paso and Evangelina Moreno of Orange, Calif.; 40 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. ================================================================= Margaret Blanche Strother Williams Margaret Blanche Strother Williams, 80, of Amarillo, formerly of Stinnett, died Thursday, May 4, 2006. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Stinnett Cemetery in Stinnett with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Borger, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Williams died Thursday in Amarillo after a brief illness. Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 12, 1925, in El Paso to Hiram and Blanche Meredith Strother. She spent her childhood in West Virginia before coming to Stinnett, graduating from Stinnett High School in 1945. Margaret married Edgar Verne Williams in Stinnett in 1950. They owned and operated the Gulf service station there. She also worked for the ASCS office in Stinnett, where she worked with many farmers in the region. Margaret and Edgar were active ham radio operators with friends around the world. She was also a member of Eastern Star for many years. After her husband's death in 1996, Margaret moved to the Continental Retirement Center in Amarillo. She later lived at the Harrington Assisted Living Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Lloyd, Charles and Frederick Strother. Survivors include a son, Henry Williams and wife, Susie, of Eagle, Wis.; a daughter, Leanna Cole and husband, Steven V., of Amarillo; a brother, Paul Strother and wife, Frances, of Nederland; two grandchildren, Amy Williams and Di of Austin and Shawn Williams and Krista of Waukesha, Wis.; a cousin, James W. Strother and Lady of Keyes, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Brown III William S. Brown III, 62, of Amarillo died Thursday, May 4, 2006. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Brown was born May 23, 1943, in Los Angeles. He moved to Amarillo during his youth and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial education from West Texas State University. He married his first wife, Joyce LaNell Inman, on June 29, 1963. After many happy years together, Joyce passed away on July 18, 1992. He was the owner of S & L Supply Co., Inc. dedicating his expertise to serving his many clients for more than 30 years. He married Jo Marie Wells on May 23, 1998, and opened his heart to her and her family. Bill served Amarillo in many areas. He was a member and past president of the Amarillo Executive Association and was on the board of the Tascosa Country Club, where he enjoyed tennis and golf. As a longtime mentor for the HOSTS program of the Amarillo Independent School District, he expressed his belief in the potential of youth. Bill lived his faith through his service to the Kairos Prison Ministry, where he contributed many weekends to bringing prisoners to Christ. His zest for life resonated through every aspect of his nature. In his younger years, he devoted his time to racing motorcycles, where he met friends he cherished. He was passionate about his faith and optimistic about humanity. He never worried about the future, because he knew, as he often said, "it had all been decided" by the Lord. Bill was a devoted family man, a role model to countless people in the community. His gentle spirit and wise counsel provided a legacy that continues in the lives he has touched. Because of Bill's strength of faith and character, a friend commented he had never seen a man who was so at peace. Survivors include his beloved wife, Jo Marie Brown; a devoted daughter, Stephenie LaNell Brown and fiance, Carey Owen, of Amarillo; his father, William S. Brown, Jr. and wife, June, of San Diego; and two sisters, Judith Popp and husband, John, of New Lenox, Ill., and Laura Brown of San Diego. Adams, 89, of Amarillo died Thursday, May 4, 2006. Graveside services were held in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Carey Skinner of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Georgia St. Mr. Adams was born in Dalhart to H.W. and Maudie Adams on July 22, 1916. He graduated from Lelia Lake High School and married Jo Urton in Clovis, N.M. Mr. Adams was one of the early plumbing, heating and air conditioning contractors in Amarillo. He actively participated in the daily operations of the business until his death. As a charter member and past president of the South Amarillo Kiwanis Club, he gladly served this community. He also was a 32nd Degree Mason. As a pilot, he had a passion for flying and held a private instrument and a twin rating. He and his wife currently attended Trinity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Brandt. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert E. Adams and wife, Susan, of Amarillo; and a brother, E.L. Adams and wife, Helen, of Russellville, Ark. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Flippo was born Oct. 26, 1915, to Benjamin and Ina Flippo in Maysville, Okla. He served with the 18th Engineers during World War II, from 1941 to 1945. He married Dell Anderson on Dec. 24, 1944. Rayburn worked for Southwestern Drug Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Rayburn was an avid golfer, shooting his age 123 times. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons play various sporting events. Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny and wife, Sharon; two grandsons, Dustin of Amarillo and Devin of Plano; two brothers, James and wife, Evon, of Pampa and Graydon and Kathryn of Bakersfield, Calif.; an aunt, Dollie Cruce of Santa Cruz, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Vaughn, 97, of Amarillo died Thursday, May 4, 2006. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson and Dr. Winfred Moore, Pastor Emeritus, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Vaughn was born Sept. 22, 1908, in Mangum, Okla., to Sterling Edmond Vaughn and Mary Elizabeth Vaughn. He married Ruby N. Moseley on Oct. 19, 1935. On Oct. 19, 2005, Paul Harvey's news broadcast told of the Vaughn's 70th wedding anniversary worldwide. Mr. Vaughn lived in Amarillo for 67 years. Cleo went to work as a plumber's helper in 1939 for Plains Plumbing, Inc. of Amarillo. He worked hard to become a licensed plumber. Cleo founded Vaughn Plumbing at 917 S. Pierce St. in October 1942. Over the next 33 years, God blessed him richly in becoming a mechanical contractor of the highest order. Cleo contracted many large projects at West Texas State University, Western Plaza Shopping Mall, Caprock High School, etc. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Cleo and his beloved wife, Ruby, had a great heart for Christian evangelistic missions. Cleo became a deacon at Pierce Street Baptist in the early 1940s. Cleo and Ruby began their mission work at Industrial City Baptist Mission in east Amarillo. The couple continued with their mission work at Buchanan Street Baptist, Roberts Street Mission and Friendship Baptist and were co-founders of Highland Baptist Church in Amarillo. In their later years, they worked with First Baptist Church of Amarillo Singles' Department, and also with the Marriage Enrichment Program. Cleo was a deacon emeritus of First Baptist Church of Amarillo. God granted him a long and useful life in God's service. Now the Lord has called him home to be reunited with Ruby, the love of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby, two months ago; a brother, Leodus; and a sister, Odessa. Survivors include a son, Joe Vaughn of Amarillo; two brothers: J.C. Vaughn of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and S.E. Mrs. Plaster was born Oct. 9, 1957, in Fort Worth and raised in Amarillo. She married Rick Plaster on May 8, 1988, in Amarillo. During the summer months she loved her work as a wrangler/search and rescue in Platoro, Colo. Her enjoyment in life was her family and her love for animals. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, James Holman, in 2003. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Emmerson was born April 27, 1917, in Kansas City, Mo., to Elizabeth Raymond Hecker and Freidrich Hecker. She married James A. Emmerson Sr. on March 28, 1947, in Topeka, Kan., where they lived until 1970. A resident of Amarillo for 36 years, Betty was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She retired as a registered nurse, having worked at High Plains Baptist Hospital. She was known by all as an accomplished artist. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Josephine Jepson, Mary Patricia Nelson and Jean Marie Maxin. McAnelly, 81, died Friday, May 5, 2006, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Taylor, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. McAnelly was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Hamilton, and was a 1942 graduate of Hamilton High School. He served in the Army during World War II. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1947 with a degree in agricultural education. He married Anne Bowyer on Aug. 26, 1950, in Anson. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2005. Mr. McAnelly worked in Saudi Arabia for five years and came to Pampa in 1957 from the Rio Grande Valley. He managed Moody Farms, which was the first commercial cattle feedlot in the Texas Panhandle. He also farmed and ranched in Gray and Wheeler counties for many years. He was a former board member of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association and a former longtime member of the Top O' Texas Rodeo Board. He was a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers' Associations, Pampa Rotary Club, Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966, Khiva Shrine Temple of Amarillo, First United Methodist Church and the Texas A&M Century Club. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Miss Clement was born in Oklaunion. She moved to Collingsworth County with her family with she was six months old and farmed with her sister since the early 40s. She and Inez also cooked for various functions in Wellington, including the Kiwanis Club, where they were famous for their pink cookies and homemade rolls. Mabel was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a worker in the primary department for 65 years. She was also active in the Home Demonstration Club, RSVP and WMU. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. and Ethel Clement; two sisters, Nellie Sue Clement and Inez Clement; two brothers, Stansell Clement and Eli Clement; and a nephew, Stan Clement. Ms. Mulanax was born April 8, 1941, in Borger and had been a Panhandle resident for more than 20 years, moving here from Amarillo. She retired from Bell Helicopter. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Rebekah's Club. She loved her family, friends, pets and ceramic crafts. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Mulanax; her father, Tommy Mulanax; a brother, Joe; a nephew, Joe David; a niece, Marsha Solley; and a sister, Francie. Risner, 82, died Friday, May 5, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Toby Henson of Clyde and the Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Risner was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Mountainburg, Ark., to James Enoch Risner and Hettie Mae Dyer Risner. He moved to Wheeler in 1927. Mr. Risner attended school in Wheeler. After graduating, he attended Draughan's Business College in Oklahoma City for two years. He married Dorothy Casey on June 13, 1954, in Wheeler. She preceded him in death in 1999. He worked for the First National Bank of Wheeler from 1952 until retiring in 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wheeler, where he served as a deacon for 47 years, taught Sunday school and was a song leader. He also was a member of the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Risner was a veteran, serving in the Army. Mrs. Carter was born April 24, 1929, in Shackelford County to Porter Dean Nunley and Margie Ethel Nunley. She married Victor Jack Carter in 1948 in Lubbock. She loved to read, play bridge and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Westside Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Cliff Nunley, Jim Nunley and Bob Nunley; and a sister, Maurene Greenlee Davis. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Susan Masters of Odessa and Kay Utsinger and husband, Kelly, of Amarillo; a son, Bruce Carter and wife, Hazel, of Atwood, Okla.; four grandchildren, Lisa Armstrong of Odessa, Monte Masters of Rowlett and Amy Utsinger Rogers and Emily Utsinger, both of Amarillo; and five great-grandchildren, Brance and Bailey Armstrong, both of Odessa, and Abbey, Brett and Chad Masters, all of Rowlett. The family suggests memorials be to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico Highway 236, Portales, NM 88130-9411.
