Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Kevin Dotson, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ms. Chapman was born Sept. 24, 1954, in Kennewick, Wash. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She owned and managed several fast food restaurants in Amarillo, and was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Carla was a very loving daughter and mother. She was very generous and loved helping others. She was preceded in death by a son, Dustin Lynn Chapman, in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Tonya Jennings of Amarillo; a son, Tony Chapman of Amarillo; her parents, Carl and Martha Ragan of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Jaylee, Taylor, Jayton and Tanner; and her companion and best friend, James "Jim" Hogan of Amarillo. Katie Ann Garvey was born July 31, 1933, in Stearns, Ky. Growing up in the Baptist church, Katie moved to the Amarillo area in 1952 from Mobile, Ala., after marrying John Patrick Garvey Jr., where she devoted herself to raising a family with her new husband. In 1972 she joined Christy and Associates, a real estate firm where she earned her Texas Real Estate Brokers License and succeeded as a sales agent. Later, she became a broker/co-owner of the firm with her husband and continued to expand the investment property division of the business. In 1995 she retired from active real estate sales but continued the property management business, allowing her more time to devote to her family and other pursuits. She was an active member of the VFW 1475 Ladies Auxiliary in which she served in various offices, most recently holding the office of junior vice president. She dedicated many hours to fundraising and was invaluable in helping to support the local VFW chapter. As an avid card player she especially enjoyed her bridge and canasta club meetings where she built many lifelong friendships through the years. Katie Ann was a devoted wife of 53 years, a selfless, caring mother and grandmother as well as a loyal friend to all that knew her. She never hesitated to care for a friend in need. She loved her family with a love that was unshakable and eternal. Survivors include her husband, Pat of Amarillo; three sons, John Dennis Garvey and James Terry Garvey, both of Amarillo, and Tracy Joseph Garvey of Westminster, Colo.; a sister, Alene Calloway of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Harold Dupuy of Gainsville, Fla.; and three grandchildren, James Chad Garvey, Elizabeth Ann Garvey and John Austin Garvey. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Mosley was born Sept. 28, 1923, to Harvey Duward and Nettie Rogers Crabtree in Sagerton. She married J.W. "Joe" Mosley in March 1940. In 1950, they moved to Amarillo where four of their seven children were born. Foy Jean and Joe were among the charter members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church when it was organized in 1952. Each remained active in the church until prevented by failing health. With her large and extended family, her long association with the church and a network of friends acquired through employment and community involvement, Foy Jean remained a familiar and beloved presence in Amarillo throughout her long life. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1988; two sons, Bill Mosley in November 1988 and Jay Mosley in June 1997; a daughter, Kathryne Wesaw in April 1993; and two brothers, Harold Crabtree in 1948 and Carroll Crabtree in June 1980. Miss Huckert was a very loving, caring and joyful woman who left a smile on the faces of the people she met. Her hobbies included decorating, camping, making floral arrangements and collecting antiques. The most important time of her life was when her son was born. She will be remembered for her love of her family and her kindness to others. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cleon Max Earle.
