Services will be at 10 p.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Brad Small, pastor of Amarillo South Church, and the Rev. Bill Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Brenda Graham Alambar was born Sept. 29, 1969, in Pampa. Brenda attended Pampa Schools and graduated in 1988. She was a member of the "Pride of Pampa Band." Brenda earned a bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in 1993. She married Alex Alambar on Nov. 24, 1993. She was a member of Amarillo South Church. Brenda was a special education teacher and had worked for Amarillo Public Schools and for E.C.I. Brenda was pursuing her master's degree at West Texas University up until the time of her illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Graham. Survivors include her husband, Alex; a daughter, Amie Alambar of Amarillo; her parents, Elaine and Richard Elliff of Pampa; a sister, Theresa Briscoe of Casper, Wyo.; a stepbrother, Matt Elliff of Amarillo; a stepsister, Lee Harrell of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Flossie James was born Feb. 16, 1937, in Hope, Ark., to Robert and Versie Poindexter. She married Jimmie James on April 29, 1985, in Dumas. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; a brother; and a daughter. Survivors include her husband, Jimmie James; five sons, Terry and Charles Poindexter, both of Amarillo, Edwin Phillips of Irving, Michael Terry of Dumas and Jimmie James of Amarillo; two daughters, Linda Dunlap of Amarillo and Melissa Maxwell of Keller; two brothers, Robert Earl Poindexter of Tacoma, Wash., and Frank Witherspoon of Hope; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. ============================================================== Herbert Dayle Edes Herbert Dayle Edes, 61, of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 10, 2006. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1963-1970 and received the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Service Award. He was a Baptist. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in The Church at Quail Creek with the Rev. Dale Moreland, associate pastor, officiating, assisted by Dr. Stan Coffey, senior pastor. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Duck was born in Milford, Ohio, and lived in Amarillo for more than 25 years. She was married for several years to Butch Duck. He preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Duck worked for Northwest Texas Hospital for nearly 20 years. She was active in the children's ministry at The Church at Quail Creek for many years in Sunday school, children's choirs, vacation Bible school, and was loved by all the children. Mrs. Duck was also a church employee in the church nursery. Survivors include a son and wife, Curtis and Kori Duck of Amarillo; her mother, Mabel Hill of Amarillo; a sister, Susan Hill of Amarillo; a brother, Darrell Hill of Seattle; a granddaughter, Mekaila Duck of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews to whom she was very close. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Amarillo South Church with Brad Small officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Kerry was born July 21, 1944, in Elk City, Okla. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in March 1965 and attended OCS for six months. He was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant in 1971. He married the love of his life, Janet, on May 30, 1965, and was married for almost 41 years. Kerry served as volunteer manager of T Bar M, was owner of Medic Rents for 30 years, president of Texas Association Medical Dealers and Texas Cattle Association member. He enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean. He loved watching football and was an avid tennis player. Jimmy Buffet's lost shaker of salt was found in Kerry's spirit - a salty pirate born 200 years too late. A dreamer of dreams and a traveling man, he would have turned the ship's wheel toward Secret Harbour in St. Thomas whenever he had the chance. And that's where we find him in our own imaginings: Squinting down the sunset in the Caribbean, listening for the cannon's thunder and dreaming of buried treasure. Brown Jack P. Brown, 86, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 9, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Dr. Murray Gossett of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born May 20, 1919, in Bassett, Ark., to Robert Joseph and Veloda Mae Brown. After completing high school, he entered into the U.S. Navy and began a 21-year military career. Mr. Brown was a survivor of the USS Lexington CV2 in the Battle of the Coral Sea and was awarded the Navy Cross. The Secretary of the Navy wrote the following about Mr. Brown, "His courageous conduct and strict devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service." Upon returning stateside, he married the love of his life, Joy Hughen in Joiner, Ark., in 1942. After his marriage he continued his military career until retiring and beginning a career with the Department of Energy that spanned an additional 24 years. At the DOE he worked as an inspector. One of the highlights of his career was accepting on behalf of the U.S. Government the thermoelectric power source that Apollo 12 carried to the moon as part of the ALSEP, Advanced Lunar Surface Experiments Package. In 1983 he retired from the DOE and enjoyed the time with his family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Joy Brown of Amarillo; two daughters, Karen B. Fielder and husband Richard of De Soto and Beth A. Winstead and husband Dwayne of Ovilla; a son, David R. Perkins was born Sept. 10, 1954, in Amarillo. Terry graduated from Palo Duro High School. He then worked for Santa Fe Railway. Terry later owned and operated his own cattle truck business. He loved Harley-Davidsons, dirt bikes and SUVs. He sponsored the little league baseball, loved people and had a heart of gold. He never met a stranger and would help anybody. Survivors include a daughter, Julie Chapa and fiance Keith Smith; his mother and stepfather, Twyla Fulkerson and husband Chester of Amarillo; his father and stepmother, Clarence L. Mr. Stark was born Sept. 4, 1936, in Plainview, was raised there and lived there most of his life. He was a graduate of Plainview High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Martha Mannin in 1963 in Plainview. He owned and operated Service Master of Plainview and also retired from the Plainview Independent School District as a school bus driver. He moved to Amarillo in 2004. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Stark loved his family and loved sports. He was a great fan of the Plainview Lady Bulldogs Basketball team. He was preceded in death by his parents, Avie and Ona Lee Stark. Mickey White died Sunday, May 7, in an automobile accident in Weatherford. He was born June 25, 1946, in Amarillo, was raised here and was a graduate of Tascosa High School, as well as West Texas State University. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne Mikeforce from 1966 until 1973. He served as a paratrooper in the Special Forces in Vietnam and in Iran. He received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and his Imperial Iranian Airborne Wings. He has been a resident of Los Angeles for more than 30 years, where was an actor/stuntman in the television - motion picture industry. He worked on "The Naked Gun 3313," "The Mike Tyson Story," "Dead Again," "Dark Angel," as well as "General Hospital." He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild as well as AFTRA. Mickey loved life and loved his dog, Buster. He loved to sail, scuba dive and ride motorcycles. He was a Mason and a member of the Shrine. He was very proud of his Jewish faith and will be missed by many close friends including the "L.A. Dogs." He was preceded in death by an infant son; and his parents, Leslie and Rosemary White. He passed away in 1968. Mrs. Scholl was a homemaker. She moved to Amarillo 10 years ago to be closer to her family. She cherished her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Scholl Mullins; and a grandson, Joseph Guy Scholl.
