Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the church with the Rev. Mieczyslaw Przepiora officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., in Amarillo. Mrs. Kuehler was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Henrietta, Okla., to Robert M. Chastain and Myrtle Chastain. She later moved to Panhandle and graduated from Panhandle High School, where she was head cheerleader and Miss PHS. She then attended Texas Tech. "Mitch" loved sports. She was a homemaker, a past officer of Panhandle Country Club Ladies Golf Association Jovileers in Groom and a member of the Athenaeum Club. She married C.J. "Goobe" Kuehler in 1943 in Panhandle. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Kathy Youree; a sister; and a brother. Survivors include a daughter, Kim Weller of Panhandle; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to St. Ann's Nursing Home in Panhandle. Amarillo Globe-News, May 21, 2006 Benito Gonzales Sr. HEREFORD - Benito Gonzales Sr., 72, died Friday, May 19, 2006. Prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Gonzales was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Karnes City, the son of Manuel and Dolores Gonzales. He married Amelia Aldaco on May 29, 1955, in Anton. Mr. Gonzales retired after 10 years of service as a night watchman for Cattle Town Feed Lot in Hereford and attended Good News Church in Hereford. He was a devoted husband, loving father, great brother and a dependable friend. He taught his children to be strong and successful in life, but more importantly, he taught them how to love. His greatest joy was being a grandparent. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Mrs. Beasley was born June 26, 1924, in Edgefield, S.C., to the late Mr. William Arthur and Josephine Turner Arthur. She was a graduate of Joanna High School in Joanna, S.C. She married Oneal Beasley on May 12, 1945, in Joanna. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1984. They moved to Canadian in 1962 from Anson. She was the owner and operator of Ma Beasley's Donut Shop for 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and served as secretary and treasurer for her Sunday school class. Ma was also a volunteer at the River Valley Pioneer Museum. "Bud" Dobson and Dora Dobson in Frederick, Okla. She married Fred Harlow on Aug. 30, 1946, and moved to Amarillo in September 1949. She served as president of the Women's Auxiliary Amarillo Firefighters for a time and was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. Georgia St. Mrs Turner was born Nov. 28, 1925, in Floydada to Arthur and Kathryn Ward. She graduated at the age of 20 from the Cadet Nursing Program during World War II as a registered nurse. She married Norval Turner in Amarillo on Feb. 12, 1947. She moved to Clovis in 2005 to live with her family. Joye was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong Methodist and the soloist at her childhood church, often accompanied by her sister at the piano. She was named Joye at birth, and the name fit throughout her life as she was such a joy to all who knew and loved her. Joye was embraced and loved dearly by the Randy Larson and Stratton families. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a brother, Bruce Ward. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Turner; a sister, Sappho Henderson of Hawaii; a granddaughter Mychelle Stone and husband Bryan of Clovis, N.M.; a great-grandson, Takoda Stone of Clovis; and several nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in the Aleutian Islands from 1945 to 1947. He married Maudie Haak on June 14, 1947, in Denver. Howard graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 1950. Howard was an Amarillo resident for 56 years and was a civil engineer with the city of Amarillo, Pantex and later self-employed. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers since 1964 and was a Registered Professional Engineer and Surveyor in the state of Texas. Howard loved beating the house at Black Jack and the latest computer technology. He extensively researched the Kirkpatrick genealogy and family history. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Janet Love and husband Bruce of Richmond, Calif., Connie Markert and husband Alan of San Antonio and Holly Cardinali and husband Gary of Valencia, Calif.; four grandchildren, Andrew and Dana Love, Lauren Markert and Wendy Cardinali; and a brother, Jack of Denver. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Harris was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Amarillo to Thomas Edward Nelson and Nora Lee Oliver Nelson. She grew up in the Wolflin neighborhood and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1946 and attended Amarillo College. She was a homemaker. Anna was a founding member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting, entertaining, traveling and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; and a brother, the Rev. Tommy Nelson. Survivors include two sons from her first marriage, John Cameron of Paris, France, and Michael Cameron and wife Loree of Marysville, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Jill Baker-Harris of Las Vegas, N.M.; and two grandchildren, Michael T. Amarillo Globe-News, May 21, 2006 Wayne E. "Pop" Cross Wayne E. "Pop" Cross, 87, of Amarillo died Friday, May 19, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Sean Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Cross was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Ralph and Clara Cross. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II and received an Honorable Discharge in 1945. He met and married Thelma Stephens in 1941 while he was stationed in Fredrick, Okla. She passed away in 1989. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1948, where he was a self-employed contractor for 40 years. He retired in 1987 doing what he loved, building things for other people. "Pop" will always be remembered for his kindness to others and the ability to make people laugh. He loved life and shared his life and love with everyone he met. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Upon graduating from West Texas State University with her bachelor and master's degrees, she was a special education teacher and counselor in the Amarillo Independent School District. She then moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., where she taught special education as well. Upon returning to Amarillo, she worked for the Canyon Independent School District as an educational diagnostician and counselor. After a short retirement, she taught special education in the Fritch Independent School District. She enjoyed RVing with her Airstream Travel Trailer Club and taking her grandchildren shopping. She was a member of Fellowship Sunday School Class at Paramount Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Strom, and a brother, Lloyd John Hoppa. She worked as a secretary for civil services. She belonged to Church of the Nazarene. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She dedicated her life to her family, church and the community. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a grandson. Amarillo Globe-News, May 21, 2006 Philip "Phil" Clarence Raught LUBBOCK - Philip "Phil" Clarence Raught, 83, died Thursday, May 18, 2006. Celebration of life services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Raught was born Aug. 21, 1922, to the late Albert and Edwarda Raught in Elizabethtown, N.M. He married Thelma Webb on Feb. 21, 1942, in Rochester. Soon after, Phil entered the U.S. Army, serving overseas during World War II. After his discharge, Phil returned to Littlefield and began his career with Pioneer Natural Gas Co. and retired in 1985 with 35 years of service. He cherished life and the time he could spend hunting, fishing and camping with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Lions Club and was passionate with his many other community involvements. Phil was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Lubbock. "Our daddy lived until he died." He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Melvin, and three sisters, Helen, Thelma and Mary Ann.
