She came to Pampa in 1990 from Wheeler, and she was a resident of Skellytown for 20 years. She married Darwin Allen on Nov. 19, 1947, in Wheeler. She owned and operated Fran's Beauty Shop in Skellytown for about 20 years. She later worked as a beautician in Wheeler and as an X-ray technician at Wheeler Hospital. She was a member of Skellytown Church of Christ. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed handcrafts. She loved her family dearly. She was preceded in death by a son, Darwin Hays Allen Jr. on June 2, 1998. She married Jim Brown on Oct. 26, 1996, in Denver. She was a 25-year employee of Bailey, Banks & Biddle, a division of Zales Corporation, and achieved the position of store manager, retiring in 1997. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Dr. Moody was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Vernon to Margaret Allison Moody and Walter Roscoe Moody Sr. He then moved to Amarillo in 1920. He graduated Amarillo High School (1937), Amarillo College and Baylor College of Dentistry (1943) - doctor of dental surgery. He also served as captain in Army Dental Corps and during World War II and the Korean War. His active dental practice included 26 years in private practice, 20 years in the Amarillo Hospital District Dental Clinic, staff dentist, director and instructor with Amarillo College School of Dental Hygiene and organization of various rural dental health fairs. He was also emeritus medical staff member of NWTH for more than 40 years. In service to his community, Walter served as president and active member of ABC (American Business Club) for 60 years, was president of Knife and Fork Club and was a member of NWTH Auxiliary. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1943, serving as elder. In his lifetime dedication to Boy Scouts of America, Walter achieved Life Rank Troop 8 in 1934, served as Scoutmaster of Troop 2, was awarded the Silver Beaver and was a vigil member and lodge advisor in Order of the Arrow. He was father and grandfather to five Eagle Scouts and a life scout. A family history going back more than 100 years included farms in Vernon, Silverton and Canyon, for which Walter served as general manager for 35 years. He received several conservation awards. Mr. Goodell was born Aug. 17, 1952, in San Diego to Howard and Norma Goodell. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1970 and graduated from WTAMU in May 2004 with an MBA. He retired from the U.S. Army as a CW 4 with two tours in Vietnam 1970 to 1990 as a helicopter pilot and safety officer. He worked at Pantex since 1995. He was an avid sports and Dallas Cowboys fan. Mr. House was born Nov. 30, 1929, to Elbert and Zillie House in Marlow, Okla. The family moved to the Tulia area in 1934, where Glenn attended local schools until he entered the Army in 1946 and was stationed at San Antonio. Returning to Amarillo, he attended Amarillo High School and played in the band at the Nat Ballroom for a time. He was a building superintendent and later owned and operated Beacon West Mobile Park and other rentals. Glenn had a lifelong love affair with Model A cars and participated in countless parades and car shows in the area. He was twice an officer in the National Model A Club of America. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" McGahey in 1951; his mother and father; and a brother, Deryl House. He was the chief of police in Canyon for two years and in Rollins, Wyo., for two years. Mrs. Tripplehorn was born June 21, 1919, in Chillicothe and moved to Pampa as a young child with her parents. She graduated from Pampa High School and attended Baylor University and Texas Tech. She married Robert L. Tripplehorn on June 27, 1940, in Pampa, and he preceded her in death in 1993 after 53 years of marriage. Mrs. Tripplehorn was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 17 years and as floral chairwoman for 24 years. She was a former member of the WomenÕs Missionary Union of First Baptist and served as secretary to the Adult I Sunday School Department for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Pampa Country Club, several bridge clubs and was a charter member of the Hospital Auxiliary. In earlier years, she was active in PTA, and at one time, she served as sponsor to the Sub-Deb Club, a girlsÕ social organization. Mr. and Mrs. Tripplehorn contributed for many years to numerous organizations including colleges and other charitable projects that were recipients of their dedicated support.
