A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Central Church of Christ with Bob Crass, senior adult minister, officiating and the Rev. Mary Rogers-Ellsworth, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church, assisting. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Northwest Texas Hospital to Travis Merle and Margaret Sullivan Anderson. Ruth was educated in the Amarillo Public School System, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1937. She married Howard Carlton Brown on June 10, 1940, in Amarillo. Ruth helped Howard and other partners establish Brown, Graham & Co., an accounting firm, by opening their first office in Hereford in 1955. Later Ruth opened "The Boutique" in Wolflin Village and operated that store with the help of her sister, Merele Ayers, for many years. Ruth and Howard were members of the Amarillo Country Club, Amarillo Club, First Presbyterian Church and then Central Church of Christ of Amarillo. They loved to play games, travel, dance, photography, and especially family and friends. They loved camping and fly fishing in Colorado, especially in the Lake City area. For the last few years, Ruth had been a resident at Ware Memorial Care Center and the family would like to offer special thanks to all those involved with the loving care she received while there. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; her parents; two sisters, Virginia Anderson, and Merle Ayers; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Jackson and husband Don of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Ed Jackson and wife Cindi of Galveston and Donna Jeanne Zepp and husband Stanley of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Oaks, Heidi Zepp and Zachary Zepp, all of Amarillo; a great-great-grandson, Korbin Oaks of Amarillo; a nephew, John Robert Brown and wife Lynda of Amarillo; two nieces, Carol Ayers Crain and husband Claiborn of Warrenton, Va., and Susie Ayers Parr of Amarillo; several great-nieces; and several great-nephews. Woodall Jr., 74, of Amarillo died Monday, May 22, 2006. There will be no local funeral services. Interment of cremains will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery of Baytown. Local arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Howard was born in Austin. He was a member of Cowboy Church. An avid outdoorsman, Howard enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a wonderful father, and cared greatly for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Many will miss his bright smile and caring heart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Woodall, his parents, and two sisters. Amarillo Globe-News, May 25, 2005 Donald Earl Waldon Donald Earl Waldon, 80, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Mr. Waldon was born on March 15, 1926, in Mineral Wells and was a longtime resident of Amarillo. He served with the U.S. Army. Mr. Waldon was a diesel mechanic for Pantex before his retirement. He was a Baptist. He married Norma Jean Brown on Sept. 7, 1948, in Archer City. Survivors include his wife; five sons, David Waldon, Garry Waldon and Larry Waldon, all of Amarillo, Bill Waldon of Victoria and Joe Waldon of Mansfield; two brothers, Homer Waldon of Haskell and Bobby Waldon of Seminole; a sister, Mary Spool of El Paso; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 25, 2006 Allen Leo "Pop" Ledbetter Allen Leo "Pop" Ledbetter, 83, of Amarillo, died Monday, May 22, 2006. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Llano Cemetery. Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Friday at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church with the Rev. Landrum Medlock officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Ledbetter was born Aug. 14, 1922, in McLean to Arthur and Verbon Carrie Ledbetter. After graduating from McLean High School, he joined the Navy in 1943. He married Bettie Burgess of Stratford in 1946. He attended Abilene Christian College, Southern Methodist University and graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1950. He went to work for the Texas Highway Department and retired in 1987 after working for 38 years and a district construction engineer. Pop was a member of the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church where he taught the JOY Sunday school class for 41 years and sang in the church choir. He was active in the Gideons and Lions Club for many years. He loved to fly fish, golf and work in his yard. Pop loved his family, his church and the Lord. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Bettie, in 1997; five brothers, Paul, Edwin, Arthur Ray, Bill and James Ledbetter; and two sisters, Pauline McMullen and Betty Jean Olmstead. Survivors include three daughters, Jean Thrash of Amarillo, Sue Jones and husband Archie of Dumas and Dona Mullins and husband Al of Canyon; a twin sister, Cleo Schultz of Montrose, Colo.; four grandchildren, Tate Thrash and wife Shawn, Dusty Thrash and wife Lisa, Ricki Jones and wife Jenny and Carrie Mullins; five great-grandchildren, Tucker, Lexie and Teague Thrash, and Sydnee and Austin Thrash; his dog, Wilouby; and his cat, Pretty Girl. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Rosemary was born in 1922 in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Frank and Ruth Stephens. She graduated from high school in Cheyenne and attended Christian College in Columbia, Mo., receiving an associate of music degree. She married Harold Hal Ochsner on Feb. 14, 1946, in Denver. They moved to Amarillo in May 1949 for Hal to set up his law practice. Rosemary was an accomplished pianist and played the marimba in numerous concerts. She worked as a legal secretary before raising her two daughters. Rosemary was a member of the Carol Lynn Singers and Amarillo Philharmonic Music Club. As a member of the First Baptist Church she sang in the choir. Rosemary had many hobbies that she enjoyed. Her favorite hobby was fishing, especially dry-fly fishing. Rosemary always caught the biggest fish and the most fish of anyone in the group. She loved to play cards, board games and bingo. Rosemary was an avid gardener, bowler, stamp and coin collector. She accompanied Hal to most of the civic activities in which he was involved such as Lions Club, Amarillo Gun Club and Khiva Shrine. Rosemary's great joy in her later life was attending sporting and school activities of her six grandchildren. She never missed a game or school program. She was preceded in death by her husband in May 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Beth Bagwell and husband Paul and Kris Creek and husband Ross, all of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Dr. Paul Bagwell Jr. and wife Melissa of Las Vegas, N.M., Jason Bagwell and wife Meredith and Kim Peet and husband Tracy, all of Pampa, Justin Bagwell of Slaton and Kelli Pratt and husband Zane of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Bagwell of Pampa, Jackson Dewitz of Amarillo, and Rebekah Bagwell of Las Vegas. He married Eva Jean Rhodes in 1946. He was a Navy veteran of WW II. He moved to Panhandle in 1963 and retired from Pantex in 1986. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and boating and he loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife and son, Gary Don Atchley. Mr. Hall was born in Amarillo on July 9, 1942, the last of eight children to the late William and Lurliene Hall. He retired from the Chrysler Corp. in 1992, where he worked for 35 years, most recently as a parts and service district manager. He was a good-hearted, caring man who enjoyed being around family and friends and will be greatly missed. A 30+ year member of Royal Lane Baptist Church, he served as a deacon and member of the choir. He enjoyed listening to music, playing golf and traveled the south, researching his family history. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Tommie Lou Hall; and three brothers, Billy, Jack and Jerry.
