Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Shawn Thrapp officiating. Military rites will be by DAV Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Kerry was born Feb. 15, 1948, in Amarillo to Grover and Myra Bills. He married Pam Puckett on Aug. 14, 1999, in Amarillo. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Kerry was a very good musician and loved to listen to rock'n'roll music and loved to bowl. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star and the Medal of Valor. Survivors include his wife, Pam Bills; three sons, Shawn Thrapp of Springhill, La., and Jessie Lee McClenan and B.J. McClenan, both of Amarillo; a sister, Joyce Hegeman of Amarillo; two nephews, Jerry Hegeman and Steve Hegeman, both of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. Mr. Robinson graduated from Amarillo High School in 1973, and became disabled while serving in the Army during the Vietnam era. He later worked at the VA Medical Center. Hughes St. Charlie Harrison Taylor Jr. was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Jacksonville to Ardell Sims Taylor and Charlie H. Taylor Sr. He was reared and attended school in Sherman. He served in the U.S. Army. Charlie moved to Amarillo in 1976 from Fort Worth, and was self-employed as a builder and home rehabilitation carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lemay Taylor of Amarillo; four sons, Embray H. Taylor Sr. and wife Kathy and Charles E. Taylor Sr. and wife Verna, all of Dallas, Steven L. Amarillo Globe-News, June 7, 2006 Ray "Buzz" Busby Ray "Buzz" Busby, 70, of Amarillo died Monday, June 5, 2006. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Arena with Ty Jones, pastor of Cowboy Church, and Murray McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Boys Ranch Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Busby was born Sept. 17, 1935, in Olton and was raised at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Although he left there when he was 18, Buzz continued to contribute, in many ways, his time and effort to Boys Ranch. He was a ranch foreman there from 1965 to 1977. Thousands of boys at the ranch considered him a positive role model, always showing them patience and a kind heart. Buzz was also a rodeo cowboy and bull rider, traveling many places including Big Spring, where he met his lifelong companion, Judy Odessa Hodges. They married on Sept. 19, 1956. He also did many other things during his lifetime, including driving a dairy truck for Gandy's and building grain elevators for Gearn Industries in Hereford until his retirement in 1992. Buzz had great respect for God, Cal Farley and John Wayne. Buzz touched the hearts and lives of many including his family and the boys he raised at Boys Ranch. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Olivia Busby; two brothers, Clyde Busby and Calvin Busby; and two sisters, Mae Maness and Ida Galvez. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debra Kay Murrell and husband Tim of Amarillo and Susan Wagnon and husband Phillip of Borger; two sons, Jackie Busby and wife Earlene of Amarillo and Paul Galvez Jr. of Waco; three brothers, Charles Busby and Hoytt Busby, both of Amarillo, and Harold Busby of Hereford; three sisters, Mary Russell of New Castle, Okla., Lois Miller of Tennessee and Joyce Zimmerman of Shoreview, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and more than 4,000 Boys Ranch sons. Collums, 57, of Amarillo passed away at his home on June 4, 2006. Arnel was born Oct. 18, 1948, in Alamogordo, N.M., to Arnel and Tessie Rapier Collums. He lived in Alamogordo and the Southern New Mexico area for many years before moving to Amarillo in 1981, where he worked for Dub Collums at Collums Trucking Co. He helped him run his business until his retirement in 2004. Arnel had been a truck driver all his life. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnel Collums; his mother, Tessie Collums; a sister, Luanna McClain; and two brothers, Cotton Collums and G.W. "Dub" Collums. Mr. Noah was born May 18, 1920, in Shamrock to Frank and Lillie Mae Noah. He married Nita Mayhall on March 5, 1944, in Wheeler. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a longtime elder at Southwest Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 20, 1998, and a daughter, Sherri Arbeiter. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Johnson was born July 8, 1916, to Lon and Alza Orthel Higgins in Chillicothe. Pop Higgins was a cowboy, a farmer, a carpenter and a rancher. As he changed occupations, the family traveled by covered wagon and later by old truck over the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma. They settled in Amarillo in 1926. Just out of school, Joyce went to work at Forest Hill Grocery Service Station and Tourist Court where she met and married the owner's son, Paul J. Johnson. They started their married life in Forest Hill and later built a home in River Road where they lived for 50 years. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was the caregiver for the Johnson-Higgins family as well as for many friends' families. She saw the value of education and made sure her daughters had opportunities she never had. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the employees of Ware Memorial for the care of both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years. Mrs. Perry was born Feb. 20, 1934, in Abilene to Andrew and Annie Sharp. As a mother and homemaker, she was the foundation for her family. She enjoyed fishing and gardening and had a love for animals and nature. Music and baseball were her passions. Lazelle was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church from the time she and her husband moved to Amarillo in 1956. She remained a trooper during her 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her husband remained by her side. Her smiles were genuine, and she shared them with all even through her last days. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James "Jim" Perry of Amarillo; two sons, Ronald Perry and Roy Perry, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Rita Perry of Houston; her twin sister, Janelle Dozier of Midland; and three grandchildren, Christopher and twins, Kyle and Kyla. Amarillo Globe-News, June 7, 2006 Floyd James Bullock HEREFORD - Floyd James Bullock, 89, died Monday, June 5, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Breckenridge with the Rev. Steve Pope officiating. Arrangements are by Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge. Mr. Bullock was born June 5, 1917, in Milam County, the son of Ira B. and Algia Mae Brown Bullock. Mr. Bullock grew up in Breckenridge, where his family moved during the oil boom. After graduating from Breckenridge High School, he married Martha Frances Branch on April 7, 1936. As a young man Mr. Bullock worked for Texas Co. and once walked its pipeline from Breckenridge to Fort Worth. He also helped build the Morris Shepard Dam at Possum Kingdom Lake and was instrumental in the development of Tanglewood Island on Lake Hubbard. After serving in World War II as a chief petroleum technician in Alaska and receiving the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon, Mr. Bullock returned to Breckenridge and was a charter member of VFW Post No. 7757. Mr. Bullock was an independent oil developer in the Breckenridge area and was also involved in numerous private ventures in Breckenridge, Lubbock, Post and Menard. Mr. Bullock loved cattle and ranching and eventually owned his own ranch in King and Stonewall counties before retiring. Mr. Bullock was a member of the Elks Lodge where he made numerous friends. He also enjoyed the study and fellowship of the Roughneck Bible class at First Baptist Church and later joined the Fellowship of the Lord at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
