Services will be at 9 a.m. today in 11th & Amarillo Church of Christ with Hugh Miller officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood. Arrangements are by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. McFarlin was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Tiger Town to Willie and Mary Couch. She married A.A. McFarlin on Dec. 12, 1935, in Matador. Survivors include four sons, James McFarlin, Gary McFarlin and Lee Roy McFarlin, all of Plainview, and Ralph E. McFarlin of Pickton; two daughters, Ann Block of Plainview and May Dixon of Mount Vernon, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Holland was born Nov. 26, 1914, in Parvin to J.C. and Nancy Stephenson Nunlee. She married Thomas Holland on Sept. 5, 1948, in Quanah. Survivors include a daughter, Laura Plemmons of Archer City; a son, James Harbison of Houston; two grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, June 10, 2006 ======================================================================== Gloria G. Mickey TULIA - Gloria G. Mickey, 75, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Homer Galyen, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Mickey was born April 21, 1931, in Halfway. She grew up in Hale County and attended schools in Plainview. She married Claud Mickey on June 30, 1948. After their marriage they lived in Canyon and then moved to Tulia and lived there for more than 50 years. She worked for the county treasurer and she became the Swisher County librarian in 1972. With Mrs. Mickey as librarian, she helped the library become a member of the Texas Panhandle Library System. Working for another 10 years, she retired in 1982. Mr. Mickey died on Dec. 20, 2002. She moved to Amarillo in 2003. Survivors include a son, David Mickey of Amarillo; two brothers, Jimmy Gilbert of Plainview and Eugene Gilbert of Houston; two sisters, Lillie Monteith of Houston and Laura Jane Gammage of Midland; three grandchildren, Chris Robinson, Heather Turben and Sharon Mickey, all of Amarillo; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Stout, the Rev. Scott Jones and the Rev. Mark Metzger, family members, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Stout was born March 18, 1945, in Goodnight, and was a resident of DeSoto before moving to Clarendon about seven years ago. He was a coach and teacher for much of his life at schools in Clovis, N.M., Muleshoe, DeSoto, Corsicana, Weimar, Clarendon and at Clarendon College. He was a member of the Clarendon Rotary Club and First Baptist Church in Clarendon. He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. John Henry Stout on Dec. 11, 1986; and his mother, Jonnie Dillehay Stout on Jan. 3, 2006. Survivors include two sisters, Linda Babcock and husband Kenneth of Groom and Nell Jones of Clovis; two brothers, Dave Stout and wife Linda of Clarendon and James E. Sandra was born June 17, 1954, in Pampa and was raised there. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1972. She was very active in the high school choir. She married Wallace Glenn Bardwell in Pampa in 1973. She worked as a waitress for several years and was a member of the Moose Lodge of Pampa. She loved to cross-stitch, loved church activities and was a member of Salvation Army Church in Pampa. Survivors include a daughter, Misty Beall and husband Donald of Amarillo; her parents, Charles and Margaret Broadbent of Amarillo; a sister, Charlotte Broadbent of Lubbock; a brother, Bobby Broadbent and wife Paula of Moscow Mills, Mo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Cindy Hinds. Mrs. Smith was a resident of Guymon since 1949. She was a homemaker and a retired secretary. Waide Jr., 98, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 8, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery East with Mary Rogers-Ellsworth, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. J.B. Waide was born Aug. 26, 1907, in Sanger to Camilla and John Bell Waide. He attended schools in Sanger, and graduated from Sanger High School in 1925. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1929 with a major in agriculture. He earned a master's degree in animal nutrition in 1932. Mr. Waide served as county agricultural agent of Bailey County from 1933 to 1937. In 1935 he married the former Nelle Bolin of Plainview. He served as county agricultural agent of Moore County from 1937 to 1950. During World War II, Mr. Waide received from the European Theater of Operations the Certificate of Merit for rendering meritorious service in the surveying of indigenous food resources in France and the harvesting, processing and distribution of available food to the French civilian population and thereby averting a critical food shortage. The French Republic recognized Mr. Waide's work as a J.S. Army Specialist by conferring on Aug. 31, 1945, the Croix de Chevalier for exceptional services rendered to French agriculture and to the French rural population. This was not a military medal, but is the highest honor given by the French Ministry of Agriculture. After his service in France, Capt. Waide was sent to the Rhineland as a specialist, where he was a member of a three-officer team sent to assist the New German Republic (West Germany) in restoring civilian government and ensuring that food was properly distributed. In 1950 Mr. Waide returned to Moore County, where he became majority stockholder in Etter Grain Co. He served as president and general manager until 1970. He later sold his interest in Etter Grain Co., and concentrated his time on his farming and real estate interests. He established a real estate company called Panhandle Real Estate. He also built homes. When Mr. Waide reached 80 years of age, he and his wife, Nelle, moved to Amarillo to be near their daughter, Patricia. As he became more frail, he moved to Ware Memorial Care Center. The family greatly appreciates the care given to him during his last years by Ware, BSA Hospital and BSA Hospice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelle Bolin, in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Allen; and two grandsons, Waide R. Allen of Van Nuys, Calif., and Bradford M. Allen of Santa Fe, N.M.
