A celebration of Anna Louise's life will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Georgia Newell King officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Rentfrow was born Feb. 9, 1916, in Grand Island, Neb. She was an artist and a musician. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Lambert was born May 15, 1938, in Fort Smith, Ark., to George William and Hazel Blythe and lived in Dumas all her life. On Sept. 26, 1959, she married Larry Lambert in Amarillo. She was a graduate of Dumas High School and co-owner and operator of Powell Abstract until it sold in 1996. She was a 36-year member of First Baptist Church and was involved in many church activities, including 5-year-olds Sunday school teacher and director for 30 years. She always gave a helping hand for decorations and costumes at many church functions. She was a loving, devoted Mother, Grandmother, daughter and sister. Survivors include her husband, Larry; two daughters, Lynette Styne and husband Mike of Dumas and Lea Anne Wrestley and husband Brian of Amarillo; her mother, Hazel Blythe of Dumas; four brothers, Don Blythe of Lake Meredith and Jim Blythe, Bill Blythe and Benny Blythe, all of Lake Kiowa; and four grandchildren, Chris, Caleb, Emilea and Macey. Mrs. Byous was born April 30, 1918, in Fort Klamath, Ore., to Raymond and Wileska Loosley. She was a school nurse in the Eunice School District in Eunice, and served as a missionary in Taiwan and Korea for five years after retiring. Amarillo Globe-News, June 11, 2006 ======================================================================== Amarillo Fred Harvey Helton Fred Harvey Helton, 89, of Amarillo died Friday, June 9, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories in Clarendon with the Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor of First Baptist Church of Hedley, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Mr. Helton was born Nov. 1, 1916, in Norman, Okla., to John H. and Bessie Helton. He married Fay Ruth "Sally" Gill on May 28, 1938, in Clarendon. He worked a variety of jobs to support his family, including working on dairy farms around Clarendon in his early years and sacking groceries for Piggly Wiggly in Amarillo. He retired from M K Chamberlain Truss Co. as a supervisor in 1978. After retirement he moved to Lelia Lake to follow his lifelong dream of owning a farm where he could grow a garden and raise livestock. He had to give up his dream at 85 years of age because of health problems. He then moved to The Canyons Retirement Center in Amarillo. Special thanks to all the Skip-Bo card players and 84 players as well as all the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Canyons Retirement Center. He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 28, 1992, after 54 years of marriage; a son, Randall Dean in 1961; two brothers, Forrest Helton and Freeman Helton; his parents; and a special friend, Opal Clendennan. Amarillo Globe-News, June 11, 2006 ======================================================================== Georgia Coldiron Porter Georgia Coldiron Porter, 82, of Plano, formerly of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 8, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with John Love, pastor of Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Porter was born Georgia Nell Coleman, named after her grandmothers, on Sept. 29, 1923, in Elk City, Okla. Her family moved to western Deaf Smith County, near Bootleg Corner, about 1930. In high school in Friona, she became a gifted singer and studied voice at Texas State Woman's College in Denton. After a year away from home, she chose to return to the Panhandle to start a family. As a homemaker in Amarillo throughout the 1950s, she was a church choir stalwart and soloist for holidays and weddings. She became a bookkeeper in the '60s and a real estate broker in the '70s, and then continued to manage her rentals throughout the '80s and '90s. She generously volunteered regularly during the '80s and '90s at Harrington Cancer Center, WETC, Trinity Fellowship and Bethesda Outreach Center. She retired to Plano, near her son, Dave, from 2001 to 2006, expecting to return home this July. Her love and her exquisite artistry, expressed in her many oil paintings, adorn most of our homes, further enriching our daily lives. Her concern for others always outweighed her own concerns for herself. She was a beloved member of her community and an adored sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rest in revered peace, our beloved mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray James and Ruth Pinkerton Coleman; and her younger brother, Bruce Coleman.
