Bennett Hood H. Bennett, 90, of Amarillo died Sunday, June 11, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Loran Harper and Jerry Klein, both of Comanche Trail Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Bennett was born in Bell County and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1939. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. Mr. Bennett worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 28 years before his retirement. He was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. He married Alma Etta Hallmark on Nov. 21, 1936, in Killeen. She preceded him in death in 2000. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Bennett in 1988; and a granddaughter, Lindsey Bennett in 1998. Survivors include a son, Terry Bennett of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Terri Gray of Bushland; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Tevra Gray of Bushland. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. McClenny was born May 25, 1917, in Stonewall County. She married her husband of 68 years, Willie, in 1934. He preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. McClenny was a homemaker, an avid cook and loved artistic work. She was a loving person and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Robert Meade Michael was born July 15, 1930, to Ethel and Erv Michael in Randall County. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Canyon, and attended school in Canyon, where he played basketball, ran track and graduated in 1948. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, beginning in 1950. He attended West Texas State University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in 1967. He had a varied work history, including farming, paint contracting, auctioneering, construction and working with Panhandle Community Services in their weatherization program. He was a longtime member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and the Balcony People Sunday school class. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Heritage Convalescent Center and Odyssey Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care he received. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Donald Ervin; his first wife, Sunita; and a stepson, Clay McClenny. Survivors include a son, Randy Michael of Amarillo; a grandson, Christopher Michael of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Ricky Pass of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Barbara McLemore and husband Ray of Lela and Sandra Swafford and husband Larry of Amarillo; three stepgranddaughters; several stepgreat-grandchildren; four nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-great nephews; and numerous cousins and second cousins. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Riley was born in Wellington to Issac and Maggie Riley. He graduated from Wellington High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. In 1958, he married Ann B. Brice in Amarillo. He had a career in the restaurant business. Mr. Riley was a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Gary, Joy and Jason; four sisters; and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Ann B. She moved to Amarillo from Iowa in 1970. She worked in retail sales in Amarillo for many years, working for Doche Cleaners before working for Toys by Roy for more than 15 years. She was an avid bridge player and bowler for many years. She had lived at the Craig Retirement Village for the past eight years. Mrs. Schieber was a member of the Church of Christ for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie and Ida Griggs; two sisters; and a brother. A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Todd Dyess, Amarillo district superintendent of the United Methodist Church, and John Curry officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Reynolds died peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 11. Mrs. Reynolds was born Feb. 15, 1918, in Pampa. She lived briefly in White Deer and Amarillo before returning to Pampa in 1934. She married Albert "Tennie" Reynolds on Aug. 8, 1937, in Sayre, Okla. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and was a charter member of both the Junior Service League of Pampa and the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bridge and taking care of her family and served as a Cub Scout den mother. The family would like to express their appreciation to Mrs. Reynolds' caregivers, Maria Copado, Nancy Villanueva and Joann Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; a granddaughter, Amanda Jacobs, in 1999; a sister, Lorene Stein; and a daughter-in-law, Virginia Reynolds, in 2005. Services will be at noon Wednesday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas. Arrangements are by Matthews Funeral Home. Lu Nell was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the second daughter of Lyndsay Dickason Hawkins and Lulu Hinton Hawkins. Having grown up in Texas, she graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She later earned a master's degree in medical administration from Texas Tech University. LuNell had recently been working on her Ph.D. in public health administration. She was employed as the assistant director of the Oklahoma City-County Health Department. She had also worked with the Texas Employment Commission in Amarillo, Texas, and as president of the South Plains Health Systems Agency in Lubbock. LuNell published two Christian books, "Jonathan Oh Jonathan" and "Color Me Legitimate." Prior to moving to Edmond, she attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lubbock and most recently was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond. Survivors include six children, Lourdes Isett and Carl H. Isett, both of Lubbock, James L. Isett of Moorpark, Calif., Bruce E. Isett of Dallas, Evelyn Roxanne Matlock of Amarillo and Daniel M.
