Services will be at 10 a.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Jerry Huggins of First Baptist Church of Lubbock officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mr. Swafford was born June 8, 1931, in Amarillo. Mr. Swafford joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 and was discharged in 1952. He married Barbara Battistone in 1952. She preceded him in death in 2000. He worked for ICX Trucking until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite. Survivors include two sons, Robert Swafford Jr. and Ronald Swafford, both of Amarillo; a sister, Bernice Barton of Dallas; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Adams was born Jan. 18, 1952, in Spur to Mavis Joy Day Adams and Deward Adams Sr. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1970 and served four years in the U.S. Army. He married Katherine Pauline Mitchell Gordon on Oct. 8, 1983, in Tulia and was employed at Randall County Feedyard as the night watchman for the last 16 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Deshane Adams. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Mary Catherine Gordon of Cleveland, Tenn.; three brothers, Deward Adams of Amarillo, Don Adams of Happy and Johnnie Adams of Lubbock; three sisters, Betty Rush of Canyon, Dinah Wyckoff of Amarillo and Mary Galloway of Tulia; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
