No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Laminack was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Canton, Ohio, to Clair "Jack" and Wanda Snyder. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Winfred Moore, retired pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Lockney to Bill and Vera Julian Harper. The family home was in South Plains and she graduated from Lockney High School. She married Walter L. Brown in 1949 and was a longtime resident of Amarillo employed first by International Harvester and later by Continental Life Insurance. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and an avid supporter of Billy Graham Crusades. As a 58-year member of VFW Post 1745 Golden Meadows Auxiliary, she served as District 9 president and was also a past post auxiliary president. She was beloved by her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with each of them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heritage Convalescent Center, Odyssey Hospice and our dear friend, Carrie, for their loving care and compassion. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. Caple, 70, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, June 19, 2006 in Springer, N.M. Mr. Caple was born Aug. 29, 1935, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Ray M. Caple and Anna Schnorf Caple. He married Patsy Griffith on June 22, 1956, in Tucson, Ariz. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, he was an aviation mechanic as well as a commercial pilot. He loved fishing, serving as a fishing guide in New Mexico, hunting and helping people. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vicki Mavure and husband Stan of Newport, Mich.; two sons, Lance and wife Teresa and Raymond and wife Fran, all of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Second Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Jones, pastor of Hollywood Road Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Marine Corps. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St. Mr. Chancler was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Mangum, Okla., to Sam and Nancy Bertha Leard Chancler. He was the seventh of 10 children. Mr. Chancler graduated from New Home High School, south of Lubbock. After graduation he entered the U.S. Marine Corps and was a very proud veteran of the Korean War. He married Harriet Jane Kelly Chancler, formerly of Waukegan, Ill., on May 30, 1953, in Los Angeles. They are the proud parents of six children. Mr. Chancler moved to Amarillo in 1962 after residing in other towns when first discharged from the Marines. Jim and Harriet lived primarily in north Amarillo and their children attended Hamlet Elementary, Palo Duro and River Road schools. Jim worked in the floor covering business for many years at Amarillo Floors prior to opening his own business in 1975. A-1 Floors first opened on West Amarillo Boulevard. Mr. and Mrs. Chancler both worked at the business and retired in 1995. More recently the Chancler sons operate the business, now located on Hillside Road near Coulter Street. Jim enjoyed being with family, attending Marine Corps reunions and keeping in contact with family, friends and fellow Marines. Jim and Harriet would travel often. Jim regularly attended local veterans celebrations around town and at the V.A. Hospital. His love for family and country was unmatched. Jim valued hard work, honest effort and a sincere spirit. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Harriet; a brother, Ray Chancler, three sisters, Helen Slaght, Faye Carter and Kathey Renfroe; six children, Susan Chancler Hooker and husband Mark of Amarillo, Karen Chancler of Fairbanks, Alaska, Mark Chancler, Kelly Chancler and wife Bonnie and Jimmy Chancler Jr. and wife Misti, of Amarillo, and Julie Chancler of Kingsville; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He married Jean Nuss on July 2, 1957, in California. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the armed services as a lieutenant colonel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean C. Mrs. Looney was born July 9, 1919, in Tulia to Matthew Major Kell and Estella Ruth Kell. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1937 and went on to attend Amarillo College. In 1941, she married Herman Looney in the rectory of Sacred Heart Cathedral. Mrs. Looney worked as a bookkeeper and had her own real estate firm. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mrs. Looney actively participated in church activities and civic affairs. She had been a past president of the St. Mary's Alter Society and DCCW. In addition to being a GRI Realtor, she served as president of the Women's Realtors of Amarillo and was a member of NARFE. Her passion was her family. She spent countless years caring for various family members, especially her husband who preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Forrester, Madeline Sullivan and Neoma Kidd; a brother, Matthew Kell; and two nieces, Joyce Havins and Paulette Poe.
