Mrs. Spears was born Dec. 24, 1904, in Springfield, Mo., to W.E. and Laura Maxwell. She married L. J. "Roy" Spears in September 1936 in Clovis. Wilson, who was to become her life partner for the next 43 years until his death in June 2005. Her hobbies were country western dancing, auto and horse racing and sports of all kinds. Shortly after, they moved to Pampa where he worked for Motor Inn Auto Supply. In 1964 they moved to Amarillo where Mr. Taylor worked for Paul's Auto Supply, then worked for Parker's Distributing, where he worked there until the present day. He will be most remembered as the No.1 Salesman, the Cookie Guy, and the best barbeque cooker in town; our Papa was a hum-dinger. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Taylor. Military rites will be by Fort Hood Army Base. Mr. Mitchell was born in White Flat, and had been a resident of Amarillo for 51 years. He had been a self-employed cement finisher and had also worked for Berry Cement Co. Mr. Mitchell served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He served with Company B, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, and made a jump behind enemy lines on D-Day. He received the EAME Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars, Distinguished Unit Badge, Victory Ribbon and two overseas service bars. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers. He graduated from Dumas High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Texas Tech University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Gray worked as a petroleum geologist. He owned and operated a consulting firm, was a member of First United Methodist Church and belonged to the National Geological Association. He married Jimmialene Richardson on Jan. 10, 1954, in Dumas. Arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Johnston was born June 18, 1922, to Robert H. and Goldie Johnston in Tuscumbia, Ala. He married Lillian Kathryn Maxey on Aug. 11, 1946, in Hedley. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He then went to work as a plant operator for Phillips Petroleum, where he worked for 40 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a resident of Stinnett before moving to Fritch in 1989. He was a member of Stinnett Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter H. Johnston and Henry R. Johnston; and a sister, Lucille Foster. He graduated from St. Jo High School in 1943, and finished his junior college studies in 1945 at North Texas Agriculture College (now UT Arlington), where he served as the ROTC Cadet Corps captain. He returned to Texas A&M University where he graduated. Jack was an educator in King County for 41 years. As much as he loved his students, he loved his family more. Pleasant Rogers Little Lisman, 86, a beloved and caring Mother and Grandmother, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in Fort Worth. Pleasant was born March 16, 1920, in Mammoth Springs, Ark., the fourth daughter of Ike and Ora Rogers. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1927, and lived in Wilson, near Henryetta. After graduation from Wilson High School, Pleasant attended college at East Central State in Ada, Okla., earning a teaching degree in elementary education. She later obtained her kindergarten certification from West Texas State. Pleasant married Cecil Little on Nov. 2, 1940, in Eufala, Okla. They moved to Borger in 1942 when Cecil began working for Phillips Petroleum. While Cecil served in the Army, Pleasant returned to Wilson to teach. After his return from overseas, they moved back to Borger, where they raised their three children in Phillips. An elementary school teacher, Pleasant taught for Borger ISD at West Ward, Gateway and Bunavista elementary schools. She was the first principal for the Head Start summer program at St. John's. Always an advocate for early education for children, Pleasant retired after teaching kindergarten in Bunavista for 18 years. After the death of Cecil in 1970, Pleasant married Phil Lisman in 1973. They continued to live in Phillips, and then Borger, until his death in 1999. Pleasant was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church. She moved to Fort Worth in 2004. She was a dedicated teacher who touched many lives and was a friend to all. Memories of her loving nature will be long remembered in a special corner of our hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Cecil Little; their son, Craig Little; her husband of 26 years, Phil Lisman; a son-in-law, Sam Griffith; and a sister, Ruby Kennedy. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Sue Griffith of Fort Worth; a son, Roger Cecil Little and wife Debbie of Borger; two grandsons, Terry Griffith of Tampa, Fla., and Trey Little and wife Kelly of Borger; a great-grandson, Tyler Little; and nieces and nephews.
