Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Bob Gill, pastor of Freewill Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Casey moved to Borger in 1937 and graduated from Borger High School in 1948. She had lived in Amarillo for the last 45 years. Marie married Charles Casey on July 8, 1976, in Clovis, N.M. She retired from the dietary department at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo. She attended Freewill Baptist Church in Amarillo and was a member of the Tri-State Bluegrass Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ora Mae Rutledge; a son, Sonny Simpkins; a granddaughter, Andrea Brandt; and a grandson, Staff Sgt. Tyler Simpkins. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Chuck Casey of Knoxville, Tenn., and Virgil Simpkins of Borger; a daughter, Celeste Reed of Fritch; a sister, Carolyn Hines of Borger; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Amarillo Fellowship Church with the Rev. Richard Brown II officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Madison. Arrangements are by King-Lynk Funeral Home of Fort Madison. Mrs. Cowles was born Sept. 14, 1960, in Fort Madison to Richard Brown and Lavirda Miller Brown. She married Neal R. Cowles on Feb. 17, 1979, in Fort Madison. Memorial services will be at 4:45 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Winfred Walker, staff minister of Morrison Funeral Directors, officiating. Burial was in Dumas Cemetery prior to the service. Mrs. Eason was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Jenks, Okla., to Walter Lafayette Hurst and Guthrie Mae Hurst. She had been a Dumas resident for the past 12 years. She was a former longtime Fritch resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Eason, and a brother, Walter Hurst. Survivors include three daughters, J. Melinda Stephenson and husband R.D. He married Cheryl Kershman on May 4, 1984, in Beaver. "Coot" Talley, 89, formerly of the Shep Community in South Taylor County, died Saturday, July 1, 2006. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Caps Baptist Church in Abilene with the Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will be in Shep Cemetery in Shep by Winters Funeral Home of Winters. Mr. Talley was born April 8, 1917, in Shep to William Thomas Talley and Frances Day Talley, the 10th of 11 children. He attended the Shep Community School. He married Ava Allred on Dec. 23, 1939, in Taylor County. They lived in Amarillo from 1952 until 1973 when they returned to Taylor County. He was a retired farmer and plumber. He was an avid fisherman and sang tenor in the Happy Hearts Gospel Quartet. He was a member of the Shep Troubadours. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 16, 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Squires of Lubbock; a son, Glynn Talley and wife Carolyn Rudy of Barrington, N.H.; a sister, Eve Jolly of Abilene; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
