Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Christian Lighthouse Center with the Rev. Jackie Findley officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Hoffman was born July 8, 1924, in the Rhea community, north of Friona, to L.H. and Pauline Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman farmed in the Rhea area for many years, moving to Hereford in 1954, where he operated heavy equipment for many years. He loved to bowl and fish. He retired to manage a self-storage company for 10 years. Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Ray and Mike Hoffman, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Paula Gamez and Cindy Kneeland, both of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 8, 2006 ======================================================================== Lucille Determan Wilson Lucille Determan Wilson, 91, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 6, 2006. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ken Keller and Deacon Robert Keller celebrating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Mrs. Wilson had lived in Amarillo since 1927. She was born Dec. 16, 1914, in Early, Iowa, to Anthony and Regina Determan, and moved to Muleshoe in 1917. She graduated with honors from St. Mary's Academy in 1932 and Holmes School of Shorthand, both in Amarillo. She married Kenneth Cecil Wilson on Oct. 12, 1940, in Amarillo and they celebrated 63 years together before Cecil preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 2004. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a charter member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was honored as Texas Mother of the Year in 1985 by the Texas Mothers Association, an affiliate of American Mothers Inc. She was also honored as Woman of the Year in 1973 by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was a past president of Church Women United in Amarillo, St. Mary's Rosary Altar Society, Amarillo Chapter of the Texas Mothers Association, American Mothers Inc. and Amarillo Deanery of Catholic Women. She served on the State Board of Church Women United, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, the Deanery Council of Catholic Women, the Women's Coalition for Change: Focus on Poverty and St. Mary's Parish board as its treasurer. She wrote "Council Contacts" for the West Texas Catholic Newspaper for four years. She was a communion minister visiting the elderly homebound. She was a greeter and eucharistic minister at St. Mary's and was a member of St. Cecilia's Circle of St. Mary's Altar Society, having served as circle chairman. She was instrumental in publicizing Goodwill Industries, by door-to-door visitation in an effort to get Goodwill established in Amarillo. She received a certificate for volunteer service from Gov. Bill Clements in 1981. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Eugene Wilson in 1944; and a great-granddaughter, Cora Elizabeth Keller in 2001. Survivors include three sons, Richard A. Wilson and wife Victoria of Santa Maria, Calif., Joe D. Wilson and wife Denise of Canyon and Thomas E. Wilson and wife Vicki of Medford, N.J.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Keller and husband Robert of Splendora and Molly Lucille Bennett and husband Rice of Fort Worth; 13 grandchildren, Christopher Keller, Steven Keller, Timothy Keller, Angela Keller, Zachary Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Charity Wilson, Katy Bennett, Justin Wilson, Brett Wilson, Claire Bennett, Charissa Wilson and Wylie Bennett; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials to St. Mary's Building Fund or a favorite charity. Honoring their Grandmother as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock with Terry McLemore, a nephew, officiating. Arrangements were by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home of McLean. Viola Templin McLemore was born April 14, 1916, in Ellis County to Samuel and Willie Mae Templin. She came to Wheeler County at the age of 12 with her parents. Viola Templin married Carlos McLemore on Dec. 24, 1934, in Shamrock. She was a great mother and a wonderful grandmother. She will be missed very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Lois Thomas; a brother, Bobby Templin; twin daughters, Loretta Simpson and Wiletta Farmer; and a grandson, Danny Simpson. Survivors include two sons, Larry McLemore and wife Linda of Borger and Buck McLemore and wife Beverly of Shamrock; a daughter, Saundra Johnston of Shamrock; three brothers, Lowell Templin and wife Willie and Sam Templin, all of Mabank, and Gerald Templin and wife Jackie of Hotchkiss, Colo.; a sister, Rosella Herring of Houston; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Matthew officiating and Deacon Wayne Norrell assisting. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray. Janie was born June 30, 1933, in San Saba to Carlos and Conseption Flores. She had been a Dumas resident for 19 years and was a former Sunray resident. Janie married Frank Vasquez in 1955 in San Saba. She was a homemaker for 26 years in Sunray. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Council for many years and also served on the Diocese of Amarillo Deanery. Janie was always involved in her church and taught youth religious education classes for many years. After the death of her husband, she became a teacher's aide for a special friend, Helen Archibeque, working with the Head Start program for 11 years. Janie later married Samuel Medina in February 2001. Janie spent her time helping the elderly, teaching youth, cooking, and most important to her, was spending time with her family. The most common memory we all will have of Janie was her love for dancing and music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vasquez; a son, Ricky Vasquez; a grandson, Blake Tanner Vasquez; and a brother, Eliodoro Flores.
