Bell St. Mr. Hill was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Rankin to William Marmaduke Hill and Lela Christy Hill. He graduated from Rankin High School and also graduated from Gail Business College in Abilene. He retired from United Auto Transport Inc. in 1983. He was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and the Teamsters Union No. 577. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Johnnie Ruth Walker; and a son, William Marmaduke "Duke" Hill. She was a graduate of Briscoe High School, where she played basketball. She lived in Spearman from 1961 until she moved to Amarillo in 1999. Mrs. Hagerman loved her Lord and her children with all of her heart. She loved reading her Bible and being "Nanny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, garden and spend time with her family. She was a member of The Masterplan Church and also attended St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey Spencer Caudell and Lillie Wood Caudell; two sisters, Geraldine Haston and Joyce Caudell; and a brother, Wayne Caudell. "Bobbye" Rast, 87, of Amarillo died Wednesday, July 5, 2006. Services were at 4 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Ken Cole of St. Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Rast was born July 26, 1918, in Pueblo, Colo. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City and also attended business college. She was a professional dancer in her early life and started a dancing school in Guthrie, Okla. She was a staff sergeant with the Army Air Corps (WACS) during World War II. She organized many GI shows during the war. She was involved with and enjoyed the Amarillo Little Theatre for many years. She later attended beauty school and was a successful beautician for many years. She was a member of Women Veterans of America Magna Bell Chapter of Amarillo. She married Earle Rast in 1980, and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded death by her parents, and two brothers. Survivors include her caregiver and special friend, Jean C. Bell St. Mrs. Thornberry was a lifelong resident of the Texas Panhandle, except for a brief convalescent period in Toccoa. Mae was born Nov. 2, 1914, to John Green Dickson and Mollie Dukes Dickson. Mae was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a counselor and leader of 12-year-old "Acteens" for 22 years and taught 7-year-olds in Training Union for 10 years. Margie Storseth, Ruth Wheller and Mae helped to form the couples classes in Sunday school. She was on the planning staff for the Family Life Center. She and her husband were on the kitchen planning service and the baptism group. Mae was a lifetime member of DAV Auxiliary, a former member of Golden K Kiwanis and a charter member of Senior Citizens, where she served as a volunteer for 20 years. She was a member of the Crafty Quilters, a member of the Forty-Five Uppers Club and a former member of Amarillo Knife and Fork Club. She enjoyed many book and study clubs throughout the years. Mae was married to E. Charles Wilson for 36 years. He passed away in 1973. She married Robert J. Thornberry in 1978. He passed away in 1991. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ken Keller and Deacon Robert Keller celebrating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Mrs. Wilson had lived in Amarillo since 1927. She was born Dec. 16, 1914, in Early, Iowa, to Anthony and Regina Determan and moved to Muleshoe in 1917. She graduated with honors from St. Mary's Academy in 1932 and Holmes School of Shorthand, both in Amarillo. She married Kenneth Cecil Wilson on Oct. 12, 1940, in Amarillo, and they celebrated 63 years together before Cecil preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 2004. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a charter member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was honored as Texas Mother of the Year in 1985 by the Texas Mothers Association, an affiliate of American Mothers Inc. She was also honored as Woman of the Year in 1973 by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was a past president of Church Women United in Amarillo, St. Mary's Rosary Altar Society, Amarillo Chapter of the Texas Mothers Association, American Mothers Inc. and Amarillo Deanery of Catholic Women. She served on the state board of Church Women United, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, the Deanery Council of Catholic Women, the Women's Coalition for Change: Focus on Poverty and St. Mary's Parish board as its treasurer. She wrote "Council Contacts" for the West Texas Catholic Newspaper for four years. She was a communion minister visiting the elderly homebound. She was a greeter and eucharistic minister at St. Mary's and was a member of St. Cecilia's Circle of St. Mary's Altar Society, having served as circle chairman. She was instrumental in publicizing Goodwill Industries by door-to-door visitation in an effort to get Goodwill established in Amarillo. She received a certificate for volunteer service from Gov. Bill Clements in 1981. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Eugene Wilson in 1944, and a great-granddaughter, Cora Elizabeth Keller in 2001. Survivors include three sons, Richard A. Wilson and wife Victoria of Santa Maria, Calif., Joe D. Wilson and wife Denise of Canyon and Thomas E. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Canfield was born March 5, 1937, in Plainview to Birchie Beatrice Canfield and Taylor Clifton Canfield. Mr. Canfield grew up in Roswell, N.M., and graduated from Roswell High School in 1955. He attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, where he played football for head coach Sammy Baul. Mr. Canfield married Konetta McClanahan on July 5, 1959. They had four children. Mr. Canfield worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglass as a supervisor before moving to Phoenix, where he was employed by the Arizona State Department of Corrections as the copy service manager. Mr. Canfield retired from the state of Arizona and moved back to Amarillo in December 2005. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum, retiring in 1985 as a supervisor after 24 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a former chief with the Lefors Volunteer Fire Department, a coach and a member of the Lefors Optimist Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne in Germany during the Korean conflict. Mrs. Knox was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Frisco, Okla., to Isaac and Hattie Hoggatt. She was the first daughter of a family with seven brothers and a sister. Gloria and Don Knox were married on Dec. 9, 1945, in Memphis and had two sons. Gloria had a beautiful voice and enjoyed sharing that talent. She worked for Horizon Oil and Gas for 20 years before retiring in 1996 and sang in First United Methodist Church choir for many years. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Church of God in Christ with W. Charles Green officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Crayton was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Sammie and Laura Crumpton Crayton. He married Tiny Moorer on Aug. 1, 1948, in Clovis. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Farley of Las Cruces; a son, Charles L. Crayton of Clovis; two brothers, Fonder Crayton of Lubbock, Texas, and Melvin Crayton of Dallas; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Muffley Funeral Home with the Rev. R.L. Smith officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. O'Neal was born April 18, 1958, in Hobbs to Willie T. O'Neal and Virginia Louise McKee O'Neal. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors include her life partner, Wilmer Jones of Clovis; a son, Steven O'Neal of Clovis; a daughter, Raven O'Neal of Clovis; a brother, Charles O'Neal of Fort Worth, Texas; five sisters, Linda O'Neal, Helen Jackson and Laura O'Neal, all of Clovis, Patricia O'Neal of Grants and Robbie O'Neal of Lubbock, Texas; and four grandchildren.
