Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brian Hesse officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Canyon by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Born on a farm in Randall County, Mr. Fluegel was the son of the late Paul and Ida Fluegel. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 until 1955 on board the LST USS Chittenden County. In 1956, he married his wife of 49 years, Janice Hansen, of Battle Creek, Neb. Mr. Fluegel was employed by Sears for more than 20 years until 1987, when he opened his own home appliance business. Confessing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Mr. Fluegel was blessed by lifelong membership at Trinity Lutheran Church of Amarillo. Babe will be remembered for his playful spirit, storytelling and generous nature. The family would like to thank the staff of BSA Home Health Care for their loving care and support. He was preceded in death by his wife, and two brothers, Paul Fluegel and Ed Fluegel. Survivors include two daughters, Kaylene and husband Paul of Albuquerque, N.M., and Kari of Houston; two sons, Kyle and wife Leslie of Amarillo and Kurt and wife Rosanna of McAllen; a sister, Anna Janhsen of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Lutheran School Scholarship Fund. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cooprider was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Detroit to Daniel and Edith Hurt. She moved to Canyon in 1992 and had been married to Arthur W. Cooprider for 55 years. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Paul Cooprider of Oklahoma City, Wes Cooprider of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Doug Cooprider of Amarillo; a daughter, Catherine Carter of Florida; a brother, Norman Hurt of Detroit; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Laverty officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Skidgel was born Nov. 5, 1947, in Perryton. He had lived in the area since 1979, moving from Amarillo. He married Linda Friesen on July 28, 1973, in Hooker, Okla. He was employed by Natural Gas Anadarko and Courson Oil and Gas since 1979. He was a CPA. He was a graduate of Hardesty High School and Oklahoma Panhandle State University. He was an ROTC second lieutenant and a member of First Baptist Church of Perryton. Howard loved spending time with his family, traveling to new places, fishing trips and riding four-wheelers. He really loved his grandson, Hart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Alice Skidgel. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffrey Warren Skidgel and wife Khara of Amarillo; a daughter, Melissa Ann Hale and husband Alan of Austin; a brother, Garland Skidgel of Hooker; a sister, Carolyn Harness of San Diego; and a grandson, Matthew Hart Skidgel of Amarillo. Mrs. Whitehorn was born March 31, 1928, in Estelline to Bud and Jewell Wright Lutts. She lived in Happy for 10 years. She loved to paint and do crafts. Survivors include a daughter, Lori Akins of Happy; two sons, Eddie Whitehorn of Poteau, Okla., and Rick Whitehorn of Hereford; a sister, Dorothy May of Lockney; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
