Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Light Ministries. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Devereaux was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Ozan, Ark., to the late J.C. and Annie Thurman. She attended grade school in Nashville, Ark. The family relocated to Plaska where she attended Morningside Junior High and high school in Memphis. Rebecca met and married Calvin Devereaux on Nov. 13, 1958, in Plaska. To this union, a daughter was born, Ruby Devereaux-Gilbreath. She later relocated to Amarillo, where she met George Jones Jr. II. To this union, two children were born, George Jones III and Sheila Francene Jones-Haynes. Rebecca was a very loving mother and supportive and caring person to her friends and relatives. She was a member of Jerusalem Church of God in Christ until her health failed. She was employed with Northwest Texas Hospital and Don R. Reid Interior Designer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Devereaux; George Jones Jr. II; her parents; four brothers, David Thurman, Timothy Thurman, James Thurman and Charles Thurman; and a sister, Erma Jean Tillman. Survivors left to cherish her loving memory are two daughters, Ruby Gilbreath and husband Aaron and Sheila Haynes and husband Marvin, all of Amarillo; a son, George Jones III and fiancee Tiffany Austin of Desoto; eight grandchildren; a very special friend, Robert Crenshaw of Amarillo; a brother, J.C. Mrs. Cole was born June 26, 1911, in Little Rock, Ark., and was raised in Sidney, Ark. She graduated from Sidney High School. She married John Cole on July 9, 1930, in Sidney. He passed away in 1972. She moved to Amarillo in 1948 from Borger. She was credit manager for Colbert's for 29 years before retiring in 1989. She loved to read, sew and work crossword puzzles. Most of all, she loved being "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Campbell was born Dec. 2, 1942, in St. Louis to Howard T. Campbell and Bernetta Berendzen Campbell. He had lived in Amarillo for the past 38 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Parish. Mr. Campbell worked in construction as an iron worker. He served with the U.S. Navy in Laos and Vietnam between 1961 and 1963. He was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Campbell. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Coker departed for heaven, Monday, July 10, 2006. Mrs. Coker was born Jan. 18, 1917, in Crafton, a town named for her family. She was the daughter of Reba Stockard Craft and E.R. Craft. She met A.C. Coker in Fort Worth in 1932, and they were married in September 1933. Verda Lee and A.C. made Amarillo their home in 1937 and opened Coker's Garage on Sixth Avenue in 1943, which was in business for 34 years. They loved to hunt and fish together and always worshipped together. They celebrated 61 wonderful years together before A.C. went to be with our Lord on March 3, 1995. Confessing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, Verda Lee was blessed to be a charter member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. Verda loved her family and her Lord. She was an exceptional artist and her oil paintings beautify the houses of many of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of family and be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Coker; a brother, Leon Craft; a sister, Que Craft; a half brother, Donald Craft; and a grandson, Frank Evans. Elizabeth "Betty" Stoker, 77, of Canyon died Sunday, July 9, 2006. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home. Mrs. Stoker was born to Harold and Dorothy Terry in Houston and died in her Canyon home on July 9 after a long battle with cancer. She married Dr. Fred Stoker in 1947. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Canyon. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor and a Master of Arts from West Texas State. She taught 25 years in primary grades, mostly in Canyon. Survivors include two sons, Paul and wife Rebecca and Brian and wife Teena; a daughter, Cynthia Thompson and husband James; two sisters, Marilyn Shields and Martha Whitehead; and six loving grandchildren. Mr. Burcham was born May 28, 1935, to William Frederick Burcham and Nancy Burcham in Mangum, Okla. He married Mary Lane on Aug. 26, 1956, in Cordell, Okla. He worked for different school districts during his career including White Deer, Wheeler County, Claude and Highland Park and served as teacher, counselor and principal. He was a resident of Shamrock before moving to Claude 21 years ago. He was a member of the Armstrong County Museum Board, Gem Theater Board and Shamrock Lions Club and was the voice for Miss Irish Rose Pageant for 16 years. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Claude, where he served on many committees and was a part of the Methodist Men group. He was a master carpenter, loved being around friends and family and never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents.
