Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Homes Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Bradley Speer, pastor of Southwest Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Bobbie Burris Brooks was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Becton to Ira H. and Etta Mae Burris. She was a manager of Cattleman's Restaurant for 20 years and worked for Gary Cook Oil Co. for 20 years. She loved gardening and was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. Survivors include a son, Warren Beardsley and wife Debbie of Dallas; two daughters, Karen Boroughs and husband Lee of Amarillo and Susan Winn and husband Wayne of Dallas; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Beardsley of Dallas; two brothers, George Rex Burris of Happy and Hardin Burris of Elida, N.M.; two sisters, Susie Morgan of Loxahatchee, Fla., and Fern Anderson of California; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Richards, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Elliott was born in Stroud, Okla. She attended Texas State College for Women in Denton. She was a secretary/bookkeeper for A.M.P.I. and had received a 25-year ring. Mrs. Elliott was a longtime member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church before moving her membership to Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in the Saints Alive Choir. She had received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Vista Care Hospice in Lubbock in 2004 and 2005. She continued her volunteer work with NursCare Hospice in Lubbock. She had also received numerous awards for her volunteer work with the Amarillo Police Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elliott; a son, Jimmy Mixon; a grandson, Greg Elliott; and granddaughter, Bailey Langham. Georgia St. Mass will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Folkner was born May 12, 1938, in Pueblo, Colo. She graduated from Texas Woman's University with a degree in business education. She married Lowell Folkner on July 14, 1961, in Amarillo. Mrs. Folkner was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was past president of the Altar Society and was active in St. Mary's School. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Mrs. Folkner was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Julius "Barney" Ritchie; and a sister, Mary Ann Ritchie. Survivors include her husband, Lowell Folkner; two sons, Eric Folkner and wife Teri and Kirk Folkner and wife Dyann, all of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Graham, Austin, Tyler and Erin, all of Amarillo; her mother, Mildred Ritchie of Amarillo; a brother, Ron Ritchie and wife Beth of Hillsborough, Calif.; six nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Henry Salley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Paducah Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Jo Anne was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Clarendon to Boy and May Shirley Blackwell. She grew up and was educated in Clarendon and also attended Clarendon Junior College for two years studying for an accounting major. She married Arvis Davis, her husband of 57 years, in 1948 in Clarendon. From 1950 to 1962, she was the tax assessor collector for Clarendon ISD and Clarendon College. Jo Anne and Arvis moved to Paducah in 1962, where they bought a car dealership and she became the co-owner and office manager. Jo Anne was a member of First United Methodist Church of Paducah, and in her earlier years she was active as a vacation Bible school teacher. She was also active in the American Cancer Society Cottle County Sickroom Supply, which helped in purchasing new equipment. Jo Anne was a "workaholic" when it came to their car dealership. She was also a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She especially enjoyed being able to travel with her grandchildren. She was a joy and inspiration to so many and will be deeply missed. Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Prater and Dr. Elmo Prater of Breckenridge; a sister, Faye Maxwell of Amarillo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Odell and Barbara Davis of Wichita Falls and Gaylon and Sue Johnson of Moran; two grandchildren, Will Prater and Megan Prater, both of College Station; many nieces and nephews, including Olin and Carolyn Norrid and their families of Amarillo with whom she had a special closeness. Mr. Wood was born March 5, 1949, in Wellington to Woodrow Wood and Ellen Mae Williams Wood. He married Margret Adams on Aug. 20, 1971, in Hereford. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1967, attended Clarendon College and WTSU and graduated from TSTI. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a former Farm Bureau director. He farmed for 25 years and had been a correctional officer at the Roach Unit of TDCJ in Childress for seven years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janice Duncan.
