Mrs. Cearley was born Nov. 8, 1951, in Quanah to Jackie and Doris Whitfield Rine. She married Danny Ray Cearley on Aug. 28, 1971, in Quanah. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Cearley of Bowie; two sons, Greg Cearley of Hereford and Doug Cearley of Fort Worth; her parents of Quanah; a brother, James Rine of Quanah; and seven grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Fellowship Church in Sunray. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pauline Simms; a brother, Oliver McMillian Jr.; and her husband, Bill McCullar. Survivors include a brother, Herma Lee McMellion of Spearman. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Carter Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Bobby Powells, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Avis Katrina Chandler was born to Marcus Lafayette Foster and Flora O. Foster on May 11, 1912, in Weatherford. Katrina began her education in Weatherford, but her family later moved to Wichita Falls, where she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School hailing as class valedictorian. She graduated early post-Depression from Texas College in Tyler. Katrina first taught in Quanah and Plainview schools. She married Anzy Gibson and moved to Amarillo, working for Amarillo Independent School District for many years. She also volunteered at the Children's Cottage and tutored youth in her home. She was an active member of Carter Chapel CME church for 67 years. She was devoted to being an "Involved Methodist Church Woman," shown by her participation in the Missionary Society and Stewardess Board. She was active in many organizations and received several awards and certificates of appreciation. Organizations and community activities include Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, NAACP, Church Women United, Carver Reunion Committee and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Angela Thomas; and a stepdaughter, Rose Majors. Survivors include her husband, John Chandler Sr.; a daughter, Juanita Young-Thomas and husband James W. Thomas Jr. of Seattle; three stepsons, Ed Chandler of Crested Butte, Colo., Earnest Chandler of Dallas and John Chandler Jr. of Amarillo; three stepdaughters, Esther Walker and Joyce Chandler, both of Tyler, and Doris Gardner of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Thelma Thomas-Lande' of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two grandsons, James W. Thomas III and David Thomas, both of Seattle; eight great-grandchildren, David, James, Rachel, Morgan, Peyton, Lucas, Domi and Alexis; a great-great-grandson, Alexander; 15 stepgrandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; five stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and many more loving relatives and caring friends.
